Chapter 242 Turning the World Upside Down

At the speed of a hawk, it would take an hour and a half to reach the Tangren Village settlement.

The tsunami affected a wide area and changed the topography of the coastal area.

Ning Qiang felt increasingly desolate as he flew across the vast water, as if he were the only one left flying alone. He missed the bustling days of the past.

With nowhere to vent his frustration, he couldn't help but let out a clear, melodious whistling sound: YAO... YAO... YAO...

The eagle spun and skimmed the water's surface, the rolling waves wetting its feathers, but Ning Qiang didn't care.

It swooped down again and again, soaring into the sky, as if asking the heavens and earth for the glory of the past.

All things have a spirit, and the ocean seemed to sense the provocation from the eagle, constantly stretching out its long and short tentacles towards the sky, trying to grab the troublesome little creature.

Whoosh... Yaw... Yaw... Yaw... Yaw...

At that moment, Ning Qiang felt a surge of heroic ambition to fight against heaven and earth.

Dark clouds obscured the sky, and the water was murky and still. A huge black eagle circled up and down between the clouds and the black water.

With its sharp beak biting the sky and its giant claws treading the sea, its long cry breaks through the twilight, and its wings that blot out the sky seem to fan away the gloom of the world. Ning Qiang fully releases the proud nature of the eagle that belongs to all things.

Unfortunately, there were no spectators, and no one witnessed such a thrilling duel.

Suddenly hearing faint human voices somewhere, it retracted its wings, changed direction, and flew towards that direction.

The Guo brothers and several villagers were moving the items unloaded from the truck to higher ground.

They were on the highest mountain in the vicinity, and the car could only go a third of the way before it couldn't go any further.

The water had already submerged half of the wheels. If they didn't hurry to unload the goods from the truck, the supplies would get flooded, which was their lifeline. With the water still rising, everyone felt despair.

The group was panting heavily, but dared not stop, relying entirely on their willpower to keep going.

Guo Qi told the children to run up the mountain first. Among the children, the oldest was 7 or 8 years old, and the youngest was only 4 years old.

The children were soaked and cold. Looking at the dark mountain path, they were both freezing and scared, and refused to go any further.

Among the villagers moving things together was a father, who tenderly patted his son's head.

"Fine, boss, if we're not going, we're not going. If we're going to die, let's die together."

The mountain road is difficult to travel. It's okay to bump into something, but it's more troublesome to accidentally take the wrong turn.

With a roar, a beam of high beam shone down, and the group squinted uncomfortably, shielding their eyes from the glare as they looked up at the mountain.

With a sharp screech of brakes, the van stopped ten meters away. He Xiao got out and called out, "Old Guo."

Guo Qisong said to He Xiao, "Hurry up, come and help."

Hearing the commotion down the mountain, He Xiao guessed it was Guo Qi and his group.

Minivans are small and maneuverable, and they can carry less cargo than trucks, making them easier to drive uphill.

Thinking that Guo Qi and the others might not be able to get up, they unloaded the things from the van and came back specifically to pick them up.

Without exchanging pleasantries, the group quickly transferred some of the supplies to the van.

The car was full, so the four children went with He Xiao first.

Chen Hao tried it out, but the van had limited space and didn't reduce the weight much. The truck moved forward a few steps, but then it couldn't move anymore.

A sharp eagle cry rang out, and a small storm swept through the area. In the blink of an eye, a huge eagle stood in front of the group.

Guo Qi and his companions watched helplessly as the eagle transformed into Ning Qiang before their very eyes!

Everything else was fine, but towards the end, the eagle feathers slowly faded from Ning Qiang's face, a rather bizarre process.

With a gurgling sound, the group swallowed hard at the same time.

Where are they?

Ning Qiang spoke arrogantly, his eyes filled with disdain.

The group looked at each other, thinking to themselves, "We are not...human?"

Knowing that Ning Qiang was looking for Pei Nansheng and his sister, Guo Qi said, "They got separated from us."

"You got separated?" Ning Qiang sneered. "I'm afraid you were just a burden and got rid of you."

Guo Qi smiled wryly. Indeed, with Pei Nansheng and her brother's abilities, they would never have gotten separated if they wanted to stay together.

Seeing that Guo Qi did not answer, Ning Qiang snorted:

"They thought they had found a great master, that they had grown wings and dared to rebel against the Chinese village. Humph, what happened? They said they didn't want you anymore, so they didn't want you anymore."

Chen Hao was displeased and retorted:

“They didn’t treat us like slaves, but your Ning family treats yourselves like masters. They weren’t particularly good to us, but they didn’t exploit us either. We live comfortably, much better than staying in the Chinese village.”

Everyone's expression changed, fearing that Chen Hao had angered Ning Qiang and might kill them.

That's a mutated goshawk; how could we possibly defeat it?

Guo Qi and Di Fei were already touching their guns.

Ning Qiang raised an eyebrow, making Chen Hao feel uneasy, before saying:

“Since you are under the protection of my Ning family, it is only right that you pay protection money. Pei Nansheng and his sister do not collect protection money from you. Without the restraint, they will run away on their own when trouble comes. It is only natural.”

Ignoring Guo Qi and the others' twitching eyes as they tried to stop her, Chen Hao stubbornly shouted:

"Your Ning family certainly collects protection money, and quite ruthlessly at that. How many villagers can a shipwreck really protect?"

Ningqiang choked.

Images of the father and son I had rescued and the villagers who had run up the mountain flashed through my mind.

Who knows how high the tide has risen? By the time he returns, how many people will be left in the Chinese village?

He, who was usually cold-hearted, suddenly felt very guilty.

He snorted coldly, turned around and took a few steps. Then, glancing back at the truck, his figure shifted, and he leaped into the air. His giant claws grabbed the truck bed's lifting beam, and he roared to the sky, lifting the truck up.

The crowd gasped in astonishment. The truck, along with the supplies on it, weighed at least 7 or 8 tons, and he lifted it with such ease.
