Ji Yueyao and his group returned by the same route, encountering many different kinds of strange creatures along the way.
Because the car's fuel tank had been modified, and there were places along the way where they could find gasoline, they didn't encounter the embarrassing situation of running out of gas. Moreover, even if they were chased by other creatures, they were able to quickly shake them off.

Lin Xuan quickly reached out and pulled her up, and then the two of them sat on the roof of the car to enjoy the cool breeze. To be honest, it was quite comfortable to be cooled down in such hot weather, although the bright sunshine was a bit too much for them.

“Powerful aliens usually prefer to stay in the inner areas of the wasteland, so the closer we are to the Xiyu base, the less chance we have of encountering powerful aliens,” Lin Xuan said, fiddling with the binoculars in his hand. “So as long as we drive carefully, we won’t encounter any aliens that could harm us.”
"We'll be back at the Xiyu base in one more day. I wonder where Sister Qiao and the others are." Ji Yueyao swung her toes and said with some pleasure, "This harvest was pretty good. I think we can have a good rest when we get back."

"My lord." Ji Yueyao stopped and bowed as soon as he entered the headquarters and saw Zhong Ran.
At the Xiyu base, the salute wasn't the military's standard salute. Instead, the right hand was clenched into a fist and placed against the chest, while the left hand hung naturally at the waist at a 45-degree angle. Therefore, when Ji Yueyao saluted, she couldn't see the strange expression on Zhong Ran's face at all.
"Okay." Zhong Ran nodded and walked forward without looking back. Ji Yueyao didn't have a good impression of this officer either, so she didn't mind and continued walking forward. The quiet corridor seemed to be filled only with the sound of their footsteps from beginning to end.
"Ji Yueyao, you're finally back."
As soon as Ji Yueyao entered, she noticed that the atmosphere in the hall was not quite right, and then Zhong Jue's voice came over.
"What happened?" Ji Yueyao was stunned. A feeling of unease suddenly welled up in her heart. She quickly looked around and found that only Zhong Jue and Xue Bin's men were around. "Hasn't Sister Qiao come back yet?"
