Chapter 320 - 219: She Wants Him To Live

Mu Houchu just listened quietly. It was the first time that this little woman was talking so noisily, but he did not find it annoying at all. Instead, a sense of peaceful joy surged in his heart.

"Mu Houchu?"

At times, while speaking, she would fear that he might be unconscious, so she would periodically call out to him.

"Mm." His response was simple but signified his continued attention.

Only then did she continue speaking with peace of mind.

"Xin He." Suddenly, Mu Houchu said.

"What’s wrong?" Xin He quickly looked up at him, fearing that there might be something unusual happening to him.

Mu Houchu’s face was still somewhat pale, and when he looked at her, he asked, "Why have you never called me by a more affectionate name?"

Xin He: "..."

When did this infamously cold-hearted Prime Minister start getting bothered by such sentimental matters?

"Really?" Xin He recalled and realized she had always been calling him Mu Houchu.

Actually, it was not that she disliked using affectionate names, it’s just that she had gotten used to calling him by his three syllables, Mu Houchu. From the day they first met, they had been destined to be enemies. Even though they ended up together, this man became increasingly shameless. Not only does he take advantage of her, but he’s also very overbearing. He would get jealous at the simplest interactions she had with any other man.

Their relationship was filled with hardship and challenges. Although they had known each other for nearly a year, the time they truly loved each other was disappointingly short. The time when they didn’t love each other, when they had misunderstandings, constituted the majority of their time together. So, she had gotten used to calling him Mu Houchu.

Because that’s how she expressed her anger towards him.

But now, she didn’t feel angry with him anymore, and she didn’t think it was a problem to keep calling him Mu Houchu. After all, she was too down-to-earth to be overly sentimental.

Contrarily, it seemed that this man was sentimental.

Mu Houchu watched her with a melancholic look, "You call Duan Lan, Brother Duan."

Xin He shivered and avoided his gaze, "Should I call you Brother Mu then?"

It sounded weird to her.

Mu Houchu noticed her reluctant and disdainful expression and his face seemed to darken a bit, "Do you want to address me the same as Duan Lan? I’m your man!"

Xin He tilted her head in thought and then, "Hou Chu?"

As soon as the words "Hou Chu" left her mouth, Xin He somehow thought of Chen Yining’s affectation-filled voice, calling out "Hou Chu, Hou Chu" over and over until she felt goosebumps.

Mu Houchu held her, lowered his head to look at her and said with slightly labored breaths, "My mother used to call me Ah Chu when I was a child."

Xin He was a little surprised, his mother?

"Even though both parents passed away when I was a kid, my mother died when I was one year old. She used to call me Ah Chu, that’s my childhood name. I don’t remember how my mother looks, but I remember how her voice sounded when she called me Ah Chu." Mu Houchu’s voice was a little weak, but there was a smile on his face.

The usually suppressed, tormented gaze has now relaxed somewhat, becoming quite soft and gentle. Nobody else in this world has called him that.

Xin He leaned her head on his chest and softly spoke, "Ah Chu."

"Mm."

"Ah Chu."

"Mm."

"Ah Chu, will you promise me to live?"

Mu Houchu’s fist, which was in his sleeve, clenched tighter, almost to the point of bleeding. His body was faintly trembling, "Alright..."

Xin He, sensing his abnormalities, quickly raised her head, "Is the medicine’s effect getting stronger?"

This medicine, it was getting stronger wave after wave.

Mu Houchu’s big hand pressed her head back onto his chest, and his voice was slightly trembling, "It’s okay."

He will survive, he will endure, how could he bear to leave her alone in this tumultuous era? How could he bear to lose rationality and harm her?

After an unknown amount of time, Xin He didn’t dare lift her head. She couldn’t bear to see his tortured expression, because her pain would only grow. She was actually quite a timid person.

She could feel his tensed muscles, his icy body, and sense the gradual surge of his murderous aura.

She knew everything was deteriorating, but aside from clinging tightly to him, there was nothing else she could do.

"Ah!" Suddenly, Mu Houchu roared and let go of her. He grabbed the stone wall of the medicinal spring with both hands, and with a push, he shattered the large protruding stones.

His forehead veins bulged, and murderous light stained his eyes.

Xin He looked up at him, her eyes were already red and tears were welling up, but not a single tear fell. She was watching him stubbornly.

She didn’t believe that he would hurt her.

Mu Houchu stared at her with bloodthirsty eyes. Like a wild beast on the verge of madness, the tiny fraction of rationale that remained prevented his hands from causing harm to the woman in front of him. His teeth were almost crushed. "Leave!" he ordered.

Xin He stared back with her red eyes and firmly said, "I won’t leave."

"Get out!" screamed Mu Houchu.

Using a small amount of his internal force, the water in the entire medicinal spring began to churn.

Xin He stared at him resolutely, "Mu Houchu, don’t you forget your promise! You said you would survive!"

Mu Houchu’s clenched fists, continued to glow with bloodlust; a hint of fury was added. He reached out, holding her and kissed her passionately on the lips.

This time, Xin He did not resist at all. Instead, she willingly wrapped her arms around his neck, ardently responding to him.

His kiss was both domineering and brusque, as if he was venting, or perhaps losing control. Between their lips, the corners of their mouths were rubbed raw. But he didn’t care. He sucked, he demanded, he vented his feelings.

Even though Xin He’s lips had been kissed raw, she didn’t mind. He was fervent in his kisses, and she was equally fervent in her response. She had never been so unrestrained in her life. Her only thought was for him to live. As long as he lived, it was enough.

Their kiss seemed a bit too fiery or perhaps his faith was too strong, he managed to endure this time.

After some time, the restlessness in Mu Houchu’s body diminished and his body began to warm up again.

He slowly released her. Feeling as if all her strength has been sucked out, Xin He collapsed on him. If not for his arms supporting her waist, she would have drowned in the medicinal spring as she lacked the strength to climb out.

"How are you now?" Xin He looked into his eyes, full of concern.

Mu Houchu gently caressed her face and touched her raw lips, remorsefully saying, "I was too reckless."

Xin He’s eyes lit up as she felt the warmth from his fingertips. His touch was no longer icy, but warm.

"Are you feeling better? Do you still feel unwell? Has the effect of the medicine passed?" Xin He quickly asked.
