They happened to be sitting at a four-person table, leaving an extra seat. Windsor's words sounded like she was implying that Song Nuan was inviting her to have dinner with them now.
What could Song Nuan say?
She forced a smile, pretending not to understand Windsor's implication, "I thought you went back to Country A. Are you having dinner with your friends?"
She glanced around. "Won't this take up your time?"
Anyone with eyes could hear the unspoken meaning in Song Nuan's words; her rejection was quite obvious, but Windsor was pretending not to understand.
"It's alright, it'll only take a few minutes to chat, it won't take much time." She waved her hand generously, her eyes already fixed on the empty seat next to Xu Yiran, as she tried to walk around and sit down.
Xu Yiran glanced at Windsor, then at Song Nuan, and noticed the irritation and indifference beneath her smile, and roughly guessed what was going on in her mind.
She slammed her bag down, displaying a strong sense of possessiveness.
As if that wasn't enough, she said to Fang Yu, "Bring your bag over here and put it over my shoulder. It's uncomfortable to sit with it on your backside."
Fang Yu could easily see through her little scheme and silently handed her the bag.
Seeing this, Windsor turned and walked to the next table, pulled over an empty chair, and made a living by finding herself a seat.
Song Nuan and Fang Yu were relatively polite and didn't show anything, but Xu Yiran's face darkened.
None of the three welcomed Windsor's arrival. Song Nuan didn't know how to speak up, so Xu Yiran naturally took on the role of the bad cop.
She started from the very beginning, "Song Nuan, I don't know you as a friend either. It would be a little awkward to have dinner together, you know I don't like eating with strangers."
Song Nuan glanced at her, then silently gave a thumbs-up under the table.
She looked at Windsor with a troubled expression. "Windsor, I made the appointment with them first, so it's really not appropriate."
Windsor was somewhat unhappy.
But when they brought it up openly, asking her to shamelessly grovel at their expense, she couldn't do it.
"When are you free? Let's meet up."
"You should go back first. I'll make an appointment with you when I have time. It's busy at the end of the year."
Windsor couldn't be fooled by repetitive excuses. She was like a piece of chewing gum, insisting that Song Nuan give a specific time before she would give up. "Even if you're busy, you still need to rest, right? My uncle is busy too, but he can still find time to go shopping with me."
Song Nuan's eyelids twitched.
Using Wen Hua to pressure her? Song Nuan was in a terrible predicament. She knew she couldn't avoid this ordeal, so she had no choice but to agree for now and discuss it with Li Jingchen when she got back.
"This weekend, please."
“Okay.” Windsor smiled sweetly at her, got up with satisfaction, and even moved the stool back to its original position.
Before Song Nuan could even catch her breath, Wen Sha turned around and came to her side again, "Sister Song Nuan, have you run into Ouyang Chengyi recently?"
"No, what's wrong?"
Hearing this, Windsor smiled and said, "It's nothing. Don't forget our promise."
Song Nuan nodded politely with a smile.
After Windsor left, Xu Yiran immediately asked, "Who is she?"
"It's a long story." After Windsor's outburst, Song Nuan lost her appetite even more. "You can think of it as her family having a grudge against the Ouyang family, and she was recently taken to the police station by the Ouyang family."
Xu Yiran looked utterly shocked, as if she had just stumbled upon a bombshell revelation.
Even Fang Yu's calm and composed expression showed a hint of surprise.
"Explain in detail."
"What are you talking about? Food can't shut you up." Song Nuan quickly stuffed a piece of roasted meat into her mouth, not wanting to talk about these unpleasant things while eating.
Xu Yiran shrugged, there was nothing she could do about it.
After dinner, the group originally planned to go shopping, but Fang Yu received a call that there was an emergency on the project that required her to handle, so the group had to leave.
After sending Fang Yu back to the Song family, Song Nuan returned to her office and reviewed the company's recent situation.
Fang Yu managed the Song family very well.
Song Nuan has nothing to worry about. Although there are few projects now, the overall direction is promising.
She stayed for a while, then returned to the garden.
Li Jingchen didn't come back. Although she knew he wouldn't be home tonight, Song Nuan still couldn't help but feel disappointed when she opened the door and saw the empty house.
She finished getting ready for bed early.
I had just finished washing up when I received a call from An Sze, who was still acting his usual irresponsible and frivolous self. "Nuan Nuan, are you asleep? If you're not asleep, come out for a drink?"
Normally, Song Nuan would definitely refuse.
But the house felt a bit empty today, so she thought going out for a drink would be nice. "Location."
An Sze asked, "Are you in the Flower Garden or the Wanhua Garden?"
"Flower Garden".
“Perfect timing, I’m nearby. I’ll come pick you up directly. Wait for me for ten minutes.”
Song Nuan nodded, "Okay."
An Sze arrived quickly, and the two went to a bar in the commercial city. Song Nuan thought he had other friends there, but it turned out to be just the two of them.
"Is Lao Li not here tonight?"
Song Nuan tilted her head back and took a sip of wine, glancing at him with an expression that said, "I'm not kidding you." "You suddenly asked me to drink with you. Wasn't that on his orders?"
An Sze smiled and grinned, making it impossible to tell if he was telling the truth from his expression. "No, that's not it."
Song Nuan chuckled, too lazy to ask any further questions since it was pointless anyway. She picked up her wine glass and took another big gulp, so bold that even An Sze was surprised.
Before the appetizers were even served, An Sze urged the waiter, then turned and stopped Song Nuan from drinking, saying, "I invited you out for a drink, not for you to drink heavily. If Lao Li finds out, he'll beat me to death."
"You still say you weren't sent by him."
An Sze grinned, looking smug. He had indeed been sent here by Li Jingchen, but he also had some things he had wanted to tell Song Nuan for a long time, but he had never had the chance.
Just pretend I'm not.
He lifted his butt, moved his stool closer to Song Nuan, and put his hand on her shoulder. "But what I'm about to say has nothing to do with him. It's just my personal opinion. Don't connect it to Lao Li."
Song Nuan looked up at him.
He chuckled. "Zhou Jing hasn't been looking for you lately, has he?"
"No."
Hearing this answer, he nodded as if relieved, "That's good, he has been quite busy lately."
Song Nuan found his words strange, but didn't investigate further.
“Although Zhou Jing and Lao Li are brothers, Nuan Nuan, Lao Li is the one who is right for you. Don’t be fooled by Zhou Jing. Cheng Yi alone is enough to give you trouble, not to mention his uncles, aunts and uncles.”
Song Nuan hadn't expected him to say that, and smiled, "Are the Li family members really that easy to get along with?"
At least she doesn't feel that way right now.
An Sze choked, then pursed his lips and thought for a few seconds, "If we're talking about easy to get along with, only my old man is easy to get along with. None of the other families are easy to deal with."
Song Nuan teased him, "Then how about I marry you?"
"No way." He immediately refused, trying to make amends for Li Jingchen, "At least Old Li has a certain say in the Li family, but Zhou Jing doesn't. The power of the Ouyang family won't be transferred to Zhou Jing for at least ten or twenty years."
He frowned and threatened her, "Do you want to grovel in the Ouyang family for decades?"
Song Nuan didn't know what An Sze was thinking when he said these things to her, but she found it quite funny.
