Chapter 185 Calling the Police

Lin Wanxing was completely oblivious to the whispers around him; he was lost in his own world, grieving alone.

He was completely unaware of the strange looks he was receiving from outsiders.

"Where do you live?" the kind-hearted woman asked as she walked over with her shopping basket.

Lin Wanxing stopped crying. He looked up at the old woman blankly, then sniffed and said, "I have no home anymore."

"Oh dear, how pitiful."

Have you eaten yet?

The older woman looked at the pitiful child in front of her and couldn't help but ask him questions with concern.

Lin Wanxing wiped away her tears with the back of her hand: "No."

The woman quickly pulled an orange from her shopping basket: "Have an orange first, I just bought it at the supermarket."

Looking at the fragrant oranges, Lin Wanxing paused for a few seconds, swallowed hard, and seemed to be craving them.

"No need, I'm not hungry. My second brother said that you shouldn't accept things from strangers."

"It's okay, I'm not a bad person." The woman forcefully shoved the orange into his hand, then silently stepped aside.

Lin Wanxing stared blankly at the orange in her hand, and before she knew it, an orange was in her hand.

The older woman, carrying her shopping basket, continued chatting with her old friends.

Another woman with a full head of white hair pointed at Lin Wanxing and asked, "How is it?"

The older woman said with heartache, "Call the police. He has no home and has some mental issues. He must be lost, which is why he keeps crying here. He's so handsome and so young; he might have run into human traffickers."

After discussing it for a few seconds, the woman and her friend decided to call the police.

Lin Wanxing remained sitting there, looking down at the orange in his hand and rubbing his stomach.

"This orange looks really good. It must be sweet and sour and very juicy, but he can't eat things given to him by strangers."

Lin Wanxing hesitated for a long time but still didn't eat the orange.

He sat there blankly for a short while before a police car pulled up in front of him.

Two police officers got out of the police car. They asked Lin Wanxing a few questions, and then asked the elderly woman who had called the police, "What happened here?"

The woman looked at him and said, "This child has some mental issues. He's been sitting here crying for a long time. When I asked him, he said he has no home. I was worried that it was unsafe for him to sit here alone and that he might run into bad people, so I called the police."

“There are so many human traffickers in this society now, we really can’t rest easy.”

After briefly learning about the situation from the older woman, the police took Lin Wanxing away.

Lin Wanxing had no idea what had happened. He thought he had done something wrong, which was why the police had arrested him.

"What's your name?" a police officer asked Lin Wanxing in the car.

"My name is Lin Wanxing."

The police officer then repeated thoughtfully, "Lin Wanxing?"

"This name sounds familiar, like I've heard it somewhere before."

Lin Wanxing and Shen Huai'an's wedding was held yesterday, and many media outlets, newspapers, and short video marketing accounts were reporting on it.

Therefore, Lin Wanxing and Shen Huai'an's names often appear on various media marketing accounts.

When they arrived at the police station, the police asked Lin Wanxing if she had any family members, but Lin Wanxing remained silent.

Later, the police checked his name on the computer and immediately knew who he was.

"Who is Shen Huai'an to you?"

The police questioned Lin Wanxing based on the information.

"He's my second brother," Lin Wanxing said softly, picking at her fingers.

"Okay, we've already notified him. He'll be at the police station soon to take you home."

Lin Wanxing was a little uneasy. He didn't know how he ended up in the police station. He hadn't done anything wrong.

After receiving the call from the police, Shen Huai'an rushed to the police station.

The moment he saw Lin Wanxing, his heart sank. He was extremely worried, fearing that something might have happened to her.

The police officer explained the situation to Shen Huai'an: "Mr. Shen, your wife is missing. A kind-hearted woman found him sitting near the bus stop crying and called the police."

"Thank you so much, thank you." Shen Huai'an thanked the police officers very politely.

"It's nothing, it's just what I should do."

Shen Huai'an followed her inside and saw Xingxing holding an orange in her hand, looking down in a daze.

Shen Huai'an rushed over and shouted to Lin Wanxing, "Xingxing, how did you get lost?"

Upon hearing his voice, Lin Wanxing immediately looked up. He watched his second brother walk towards him and instinctively glanced at his brother's legs.

Lin Wanxing's second brother walked over with difficulty, leaning on his cane. The moment he saw him, he remembered the words the old Chinese medicine doctor had said to him, and he couldn't help but want to cry again.

"Why are you crying?" Seeing him cry, Shen Huai'an quickly came forward to comfort him.

"Don't be afraid, your second brother is coming to pick you up and take you home. Why didn't you answer your second brother's calls when you got lost? Do you know how worried your second brother was?"

"Don't cry. If you can't find your way home next time, be sure to call your second brother." Shen Huai'an gently wiped away his tears with his thumb.

Lin Wanxing's eyes were incredibly red and swollen.

Lin Wanxing sniffed. The gentler her second brother was, the more conflicted she felt.

"Shen Huai'an, you're so awful," Lin Wanxing said, sobbing uncontrollably.

His second brother really caused him pain; he didn't want to be a fool.

His utterance of disgust made Shen Huai'an freeze instantly, and his heart suddenly ached.

"Xingxing, don't be like this. Second brother didn't mean to make you sad. Don't hate me."
