There are too many bad people out there; he can only feel at ease when they are right in front of him.
"Let's hurry up and find a rental place. The location has to be near Xingxing's workplace so it's convenient for him to commute." Shen Huai'an had a lot on his mind. If the workplace was too far from home, Xingxing definitely wouldn't be able to get up.
The main problem is that living far from home involves taking public transportation, making commuting incomplete, and there have been too many bad people around lately.
Shen Huai'an always has something on his mind.
Qin Junming quickly posted several rental listings, all near that dessert shop.
The rent was ridiculously cheap, and all the apartments were cozy and clean. Qin Junming didn't believe Lin Wanxing wouldn't rent such a place.
"Quickly publish all these rental listings," Shen Huai'an said, staring at the computer.
He was always worried about Xingxing, worried that she was suffering outside, worried that she was being bullied, worried that she wasn't eating or sleeping well.
Xingxing is picky about beds, and now that we're staying in hotels, I don't know if the beds are firm or if the food suits her taste. Xingxing likes sweet food and doesn't like salty food.
Sometimes Xingxing has nightmares and needs to be held while sleeping to feel at ease. Will Xingxing have nightmares tonight?
Shen Huai'an sighed. He really shouldn't have let Xingxing leave. He was sitting at home worrying himself sick.
But if I don't let Xingxing go, he'll definitely cause trouble for me.
In that case, not only will the conflict remain unresolved, but it will also damage their relationship.
This was the only option Shen Huai'an could have.
Maybe he'll come back when he's had enough fun outside.
Now, this is all Shen Huai'an can do to comfort himself.
Meanwhile, Lin Wanxing was happily watching TV and eating potato chips in the hotel. He had also ordered a ton of takeout.
He ate fried chicken, along with his favorite spicy duck parts and snail rice noodles. He sat on the floor watching cartoons playing on the projector screen and was extremely happy.
He rarely ate these things before because his second brother said they were bad for his health.
My second brother said that takeout food is the dirtiest food, and that eating takeout will make you sick. He also said that most takeout food is junk food.
So he really wanted to eat takeout, and here it is.
Golden and crispy fried chicken legs, dipped generously in honey mustard sauce, are simply divine, with a satisfying crunch.
He also wants to eat spicy duck parts, and while eating, he will occasionally take a few bites of snail rice noodles. When it gets too spicy, he drinks milk tea to relieve the spiciness.
This kind of life couldn't be happier.
He looked up at the huge projected animated movie screen, and he was incredibly happy, more so than ever before.
If my second brother were here with me at this moment...
Before he knew it, he was thinking of his second brother. It seemed that his second brother's shadow was everywhere in his life.
Lin Wanxing quickly suppressed this thought.
Since she had run away from home, she couldn't think about her second brother anymore.
After eating, Lin Wanxing took a comfortable hot bath and then happily went to sleep while hugging his teddy bear.
He slept until dawn, only to be woken up by his phone's timed alarm. He slowly opened his eyes and got out of his sleep.
He's going for a job interview today, and he specially changed into a new outfit. He's going to have breakfast before the interview.
He's determined to get this job.
He must have been incredibly lucky to find such a great job.
Lin Wanxing slept very well last night and woke up feeling refreshed today.
He ate some breakfast, changed his clothes, and set off with his little backpack.
He quickly found the dessert shop based on the information given by the recruiter.
The shop is quite large and looks like a very nice workplace.
Upon entering, Lin Wanxing noticed that the environment inside was truly delightful. The store was filled with a sweet aroma that made one's mouth water.
"Hello, I'm here to apply for the job," Lin Wanxing said to the staff at the front desk.
The staff member instantly stood up from in front of the cash register. He saw Lin Wanxing and said with a smile, "Hello, are you here for a job interview?"
His smile was exceptionally bright. "I'll have my boss talk to you. Please have a seat."
He turned and ran away in a hurry.
Lin Wanxing blinked; he didn't understand.
That person seemed a bit strange, especially the way they looked at me.
Lin Wanxing stood still and waited for a short while before a person in an employee uniform ran over with a smile.
With a warm and friendly smile, he said, "Sit down, let's talk slowly. I'm the owner of this shop, you can just call me Xiao Li."
"Little Li?" Lin Wanxing asked in return.
This form of address seems a bit strange. It doesn't sound like an employee addressing their boss at all. Besides, this "Little Li" is clearly much older than Lin Wanxing. Calling him "Little Li" feels really incongruous; his age and status don't match.
Xiao Li gave a dry laugh. "Sit down, sit down."
He led Lin Wanxing to a seat, and immediately someone brought her desserts and drinks.
Looking at the dessert in front of him and Xiao Li's smiling face, Lin Wanxing felt that there was something strange about the place.
"Let's eat and chat."
"There's not much we need you to do here. All you have to do every day is wipe the tables, clean up the plates, cups, and cutlery, that's all."
Lin Wanxing nodded, and asked the question he had been most eager to ask: "Can we eat the leftover cakes from the shop while we're sitting here?"
Xiao Li smiled and said, "Of course you can eat it if you want."
Xiao Li glanced at his phone every now and then. He scanned his WeChat messages and asked, "Did you eat breakfast when you came here this morning?"
