Chapter 123 was indeed tricked.

After saying goodbye to her clients, Mingdai returned to the company immediately.

The assistant is not here.

The assistant general manager finally came out of the conference room after half an hour.

Mingdai didn't want to disturb her father, so she could only start with the assistant.

"May I take a look at the projects the company recently signed?"

She has to find a way to recover the losses.

The assistant stared at Mingdai, thought for a moment, and then said, "There are some things I'm afraid I can't show you, but if you want to understand the company's project direction, I can..."

"There might be a problem with the contract you and my dad signed before."

Mingdai trusted that old client, so she couldn't possibly keep beating around the bush with the assistant manager.

"Those projects I asked you about, whether they had anything to do with Mo Tingchuan."

Mingdai said, "He still interfered."

The assistant was stunned.

He thought it was unlikely.

"Background checks were conducted before the contract was signed, and the investigation lasted for several months. Besides, it's a project jointly invested by several companies, how could that be possible..."

Which companies are you cooperating with?

Mingdai had to get this matter straight.

“I’m not joking, and I’m not exaggerating.”

Mingdai had no choice but to honestly tell the assistant.

“My marriage with Mo Tingchuan is in crisis. I didn’t tell them before because I was afraid my parents wouldn’t be able to handle it.”

The assistant's expression immediately changed.

The sky has fallen!

How could it be a marital crisis!

"Mo Tingchuan has changed his mind?"

Over the past three years, the assistant chief had witnessed firsthand how the Ming family had helped the Mo family. In his eyes, Mo Tingchuan should be grateful for the rest of his life and must always cherish Ming Dai.

When it comes to private matters, Mingdai still finds it difficult to speak.

But upon closer reflection, the fault doesn't lie with her.

Telling the assistant general would at least give them a united front against the enemy.

He cheated on me.

At first, Mingdai felt her heart suffocate whenever she talked about it. She was afraid of being laughed at, afraid of all kinds of strange looks, afraid that her efforts would eventually become her shackles.

But now, she seems to have no more worries and doesn't care what others say or think.

“His mistress is pregnant. I asked him for a divorce, but he refused. He wanted to maintain his respectable image and his public persona. However, he couldn’t hold back recently because I schemed against him.”

The assistant is still brainstorming.

He couldn't believe that Mo Tingchuan, a seemingly respectable and gentlemanly man, would cheat on his wife and have a child with his mistress.

What's wrong with this world?

"You don't need to feel sorry for them, you don't need to be surprised, and you don't need to sigh. After all, people change."

Mingdai comforted the devastated assistant.

He said, "My information is that after the project starts, investors will withdraw their funds, and at that time our entire company will probably be stuck in a quagmire."

Mingdai didn't panic. Panic would be useless at this point; she could only try her best to salvage the situation.

“I don’t know what benefits Mo Tingchuan promised the investors, but from now on, we two must meet with them in person one by one to try to minimize the losses.”

The assistant is numb.

Even though I have gone through many trials and tribulations with Ming's father over the years, I have never been betrayed by someone I trusted before.

"Don't tell my dad about this yet, he has a heart condition and can't handle it."

The most important people in Mingdai's life are her parents. She can live without anything else, but she cannot live without her parents.

The assistant also knew the seriousness of the matter; if things went wrong, it could really jeopardize the entire company.

He hurriedly grabbed the project documents and went into his office with Mingdai.

In the late afternoon, just before she was about to leave work, Mingdai went to see a few friends in the industry.

I didn't have much contact with these friends before, but the relationship is still there.

This is also a good habit of Mingdai's; she never offends anyone and always leaves room for maneuver in everything she does, which can be considered as making things convenient for herself without her knowledge.

“I remember that Mr. Liu does have a good relationship with Mo Tingchuan. I’ve seen them together recently. Just last weekend, I saw them go into the restaurant when I was eating.”

"That shouldn't be the case. Why would Li Jianshe invest in your company's project? He's a very shrewd man and always cautious with his investments. Over the years, I've never seen him get involved in a project like yours. I suggest you do some thorough research. I don't think it's very reliable."

“Sun Xueying’s wife ran away with someone else and took a large sum of money with her. Where will he get the money to invest? His father-in-law is unlikely to support him either. You may not know, but he was abusive during his marriage. His wife ran away because she couldn’t take it anymore.”

...

One bad news after another hit Mingdai right in the head, making her dizzy and disoriented.

She had to call the general assistant to inquire about everything.

Since a background check was conducted and they were in contact with the person for several months beforehand, they should have been aware of these things.

After a moment's thought, the assistant gave his answer.

“Mr. Liu and Mo Tingchuan’s interactions were very low-key, which was because we trusted Mo Tingchuan too much and never guarded against him, which allowed him to take advantage of the situation.”

“Li Jianshe set us up. He’s been putting on an act for the past few months, probably to cooperate with Mo Tingchuan. His performance was flawless.”

"As for Sun Xueying, he has always been generous and likes to invest in various things. There has rarely been any bad news about his private life. His father-in-law can't bear the embarrassment, so he will cover for him to some extent."

Mingdai weakly rubbed her forehead.

Anyway, it's now 100% certain that Mo Tingchuan really did set us up.

It was already getting dark, and the assistant knew that Mingdai had been traveling all day and was worried that her body couldn't take it.

"Go home and rest today. Your body is not like other people's, so you can't overwork yourself."

Mingdai agreed, saying there was no use in rushing things.

I had just gotten into the car to go back to my apartment.

He Yaonian called.

"Where?"

Mingdai glanced out the car window and thought of the cute girl named Fang Li.

"He's outside."

"Still not home so late?"

He Yaonian said, "Mo Yumei and the others have already moved back to the villa. I'll pick you up after get off work tomorrow."

He picked her up?

Mingdai found it rather troublesome.

"Third Uncle, I think I'll stay in the apartment instead."

He Yaoyuan lowered his head. He Yaonian certainly couldn't refuse, so it wasn't surprising that Mo Yumei and her daughter moved back.

I'm a little worried about you living alone.

He Yaonian's attitude was forceful: "Where are you? If not, I'll come pick you up right now. You don't have much stuff, the villa basically has everything you need, there's nothing to pack."

Mingdai was exhausted after a busy day and really didn't want to go through any more trouble.

"Third Uncle, let's not move for now."

She felt that her feelings for He Yaonian were abnormal. Perhaps it was because they had lived together before and saw each other all the time that she had developed a strange fondness for him.

"It's more convenient for me to commute to work if I live in an apartment."

Mingdai adjusted her tone, becoming optimistic and cheerful, and chuckled softly.

"Thank you for your concern, Uncle. I'm really touched that you're so busy but still think of me."

"What’s wrong with you?"

He Yaonian was very perceptive and could tell from just one sentence that Mingdai was not in a good mood.
