Mingdai was wondering when the car she had called came to a stop behind Ling Yang's car.
"Beep beep~"
The morning sun shines brightly, and the trumpet sounds.
Mingdai waved to Ling Yang.
"My car has arrived, I'll be going now, thanks."
Exhausted, Mingdai closed her eyes to rest as soon as she got into the car.
They arrived at the gate of the He family villa in a daze.
Taxis usually don't let people through, so Mingdai thought for a moment, got out of the car, and decided to walk in.
The security guard at the entrance saw her.
"Miss Ming, you didn't drive today?"
Mingdai had just rested in the car for a while and felt a bit better.
She smiled and nodded, "Yes, it's not open."
The security guard looked at the high heels on her feet.
"I'll call the car inside to pick you up."
Mingdai shook her head.
"Need not."
She entered the gate, saying, "I'll just wander around."
It wasn't that she was deliberately torturing herself; the wind was cool and refreshing, and after a busy day, she wanted to clear her mind in this environment.
The villa is very large; it was originally a large estate. At this moment, you can still hear the chirping of birds in the woods not far away.
In this season, the air is filled with the sweet fragrance of flowers.
Mingdai walked slowly, pondering a question as she went.
She felt she really needed to keep her distance from He Yaonian.
I've been saying one thing and meaning another, but now it's time to make a decision.
Why not take this opportunity?
Just as Mingdai was lost in thought, she heard the sound of a car behind her.
Mingdai subconsciously moved aside.
The road was actually quite wide, and she was walking on the edge of it.
There are not many vehicles on this road, and it is never congested.
Mingdai turned to look after she finished speaking.
It was He Yaonian's car.
Mingdai's heart tightened, and she immediately looked away.
I thought He Yaonian, who was still angry, would just leave, but the car stopped.
The car stopped, but no one inside spoke.
It was Mingdai's fault for making He Yaonian worry.
She hesitated and turned her head to the side.
The car windows were tightly closed, making it impossible to see inside from the outside.
He Yaonian didn't call her, and she didn't know if he wanted to give her a ride or if he had something to say.
Mingdai just waited like that.
Until the driver opened the car door and got out.
"Miss Ming, Third Master wants you to get in the car."
The driver quickly opened the car door on Mingdai's side.
Mingdai stopped being coy, smiled and nodded at the driver, then bent down and got into the car.
She had been wearing high heels all day and running around, so her feet weren't feeling well. If she insisted on walking back, she felt she would most likely get blisters.
He Yaonian closed his eyes to rest in the car.
After Mingdai got into the car, he didn't even glance at her.
Mingdai obediently called him Third Uncle.
"Third Uncle."
He Yaonian remained indifferent, finally opening his eyes and glancing at her.
Mingdai's smile was somewhat awkward.
He Yaonian asked, "Where's the car?"
Mingdai sat up straight, looking straight ahead.
"At the company."
He Yaonian frowned. "Is it broken?"
Mingdai explained, "I had a business dinner tonight, so I left my car at the company without driving it."
"You went with that assistant?"
Mingdai nodded. "Mm."
"Then why didn't I send you back?"
Mingdai replied, "The assistant had too much to drink and it wasn't on his way here."
How did you get back?
He Yaonian asked detailed questions, and Mingdai answered patiently.
"I took a taxi, but I couldn't get in at the door."
He Yaonian finally lost his temper, "Why didn't you call me?"
Mingdai felt a dryness in her throat.
"You just got back too, and you're already so busy. How can you keep bothering me?"
These words greatly displeased He Yaonian.
He found Mingdai to be a very strange person.
The phrase "neither too close nor too distant" truly embodies her perfectly.
I was going to say that even if he didn't have time, his driver did, and if the driver didn't have time, someone else would.
Seeing Mingdai deliberately trying to distance herself, He Yaonian became even angrier.
She went out without saying goodbye and stayed out so late that he had to call her back. And she was going out with a man every few days.
He Yaonian was furious.
I don't want to say anything anymore.
A silence fell between the two.
The drivers in front felt suffocated.
Upon arriving at the villa, Mingdai immediately opened the door and got out of the car.
She took a few steps, then felt she couldn't stay frozen like that.
Even if she wanted to keep her distance from He Yaonian, she didn't necessarily have to do it in a way that would make him angry.
It was wrong of her to make him worry when she went out to play. She should apologize and ask He Yaonian for forgiveness.
Mingdai stopped and decided to wait for He Yaonian to come over so she could have a proper talk with him.
He Yaonian answered the phone as soon as he got out of the car, as if he was about to have an emergency meeting. His brows were furrowed, his face was not good, and he looked like he was about to lose his temper at any moment.
As he walked past Mingdai, he didn't even glance at her.
Mingdai couldn't possibly call him back under these circumstances.
They could only watch helplessly as He Yaonian's tall figure disappeared through the doorway.
Mingdai stood there for a while before slowly walking in.
The butler greeted her with a smile and asked, "Miss Ming, good evening. Have you had dinner? Are you full?"
The housekeeper is always so kind and gentle.
Mingdai ate something at the dinner party and wasn't hungry.
After a long day of running around, I'm exhausted and need to rest.
She smiled and went back to the housekeeper.
