Mo Tingchuan insisted on taking Mingdai to the airport.
Upon seeing the assistant general, who was also pulling a suitcase, Mo Tingchuan finally believed that Mingdai was indeed going on a business trip.
Mingdai and the assistant went through security together.
The assistant secretly asked Mingdai, "Did he bring you here?"
Mingdai said, half-truthfully, "He's afraid I'll cheat on him, so he keeps a close eye on me."
Assistant: "?"
Mo Tingchuan stood not far away, watching Mingdai.
But Mingdai did not turn around.
Mo Tingchuan felt disappointed.
As the plane streaked across the night sky, Mingdai and the assistant still had to adjust to the time difference after waking up.
It was afternoon in Country L, and the ultraviolet rays were very strong. The sun was so scorching that Mingdai couldn't even open her eyes.
The two of them didn't even have time to rest after arriving at the hotel before immediately going to meet their client.
After finishing her work, Mingdai felt completely dizzy and lightheaded.
The assistant was also exhausted.
I went back to the hotel, ate something haphazardly, and slept until the next day.
The schedule was tight and the workload was heavy.
Mingdai had already looked through the thick stack of documents in her bag many times.
The assistant was worried that she would get dizzy from looking at it in the car.
"That's good enough. Just watch my signals and act accordingly. If I can't keep up, then you can step in."
The person in charge of this business trip is the general manager's assistant.
These materials will naturally become second nature to him.
"It's all thanks to you."
Mingdai sighed, realizing that she had only recently started working in the company and was still quite unfamiliar with many things.
The assistant smiled and said, "You'll have to take on a lot of responsibility in the future."
Experience is something that must be put into practice; theoretical discussions alone are basically useless.
This was precisely the purpose for which the assistant brought Mingdai out.
After three days of hard work, things finally eased up, and now they just need to finalize some details.
Mingdai and the assistant both breathed a sigh of relief.
"I didn't expect it to go so smoothly."
The assistant rubbed his aching temples, and smiled as he thought of Mingdai's clear and logical approach to negotiation, using gentleness to overcome rigidity.
He asked Mingdai if she wanted to walk around, since they were already in this place, it wouldn't be bad to visit some scenic spots.
After three days of travel, Mingdai's body was not in a position to continue exerting herself.
Mingdai decided to spend the rest of her time at the hotel.
The assistant's girlfriend gave him a shopping list, so he had to go out and buy things.
He wanted to invite Mingdai along, but Mingdai declined.
After taking a shower that evening, Mingdai lay in bed wanting to go to sleep early.
I've been busy with work these past few days and haven't had time to think about anything else.
Now that he was lying down, he was thinking about Master He's condition again.
Mingdai picked up her phone, but before she could decide who to call, He Yaonian called.
When Mingdai saw that it was He Yaonian calling, she was so overwhelmed by the long absence that she felt a little dazed.
She sat up abruptly.
I stared intently at the phone screen for a few seconds.
It really was He Yaonian.
Mingdai was excited and bit her lip as she accepted the gift.
As soon as the call connected, He Yaonian asked, "You've gone abroad?"
Mingdai didn't know how he knew about this.
"Um."
"Country L?"
Mingdai couldn't discern He Yaonian's emotions, so she obediently hummed in agreement.
The sound of someone leaving could be heard from He Yaonian's side.
Which hotel?
Mingdai: "?"
Why didn't you tell me you were coming out?
He Yaonian said, "I'll come pick you up."
Mingdai's mind was in a bit of a mess.
"No, you..."
Send me your location.
The other end of the phone hung up quickly.
Mingdai stared blankly at her phone, wondering if she had just had a ridiculous dream.
She checked her call log again to confirm that she had just spoken to He Yaonian.
He Yaonian sent another message, urging me to give him the address.
Mingdai then located the location and sent it to him.
She was still lying in bed, lost in thought.
He Yaonian said he would come to pick her up.
Mingdai hurriedly got out of bed, quickly put on makeup, tidied her hair, and changed into a dress.
She didn't have much luggage, so after thinking about it, she packed it all up.
He Yaonian arrived in less than half an hour.
Mingdai's heart was pounding very fast when the doorbell rang.
It had been almost a week since they last saw each other, and Mingdai missed He Yaonian very much.
Mingdai opened the door.
He Yaonian stood outside in a black suit. He looked a little thinner, but his expression remained as cold and stern as ever.
Mingdai was stunned for some reason.
She stared blankly at He Yaonian.
Until He Yaonian suddenly stepped forward and hugged her tightly.
Mingdai's scalp tingled as He Yaonian pushed her through the door.
The door closed, and the air was filled with He Yaonian's scent.
Mingdai's heart was pounding, but she didn't push He Yaonian away. Instead, she reached out and hugged his waist, burying herself completely in his embrace.
After a while, He Yaonian chuckled and kissed Mingdai's hair.
"Are you missing me?"
Mingdai, like a frightened bird, pushed him away.
She took two steps back, looked away, her heart pounding, and her ears turned red.
He Yaonian glanced around the hotel's interior and noticed the suitcase standing neatly at the bathroom door.
Mingdai spoke up, "How is Second Uncle?"
Judging from He Yaonian's reaction, he seems to have pulled through.
He Yaonian stepped forward, picked up the suitcase, and then took Mingdai's hand.
"Come on, let me take you to see your second uncle."
Mingdai was surprised, "Second Uncle is also in L Country?"
He Yaonian glared at her, not taking it seriously, and said, "You really don't care about me at all."
Mingdai's almond-shaped eyes were dazed.
He Yaonian said, "It's been so long, and they haven't made a single phone call."
Mingdai felt wronged.
"I did it."
"lie."
Mingdai's hand was held tightly by He Yaonian, and she felt a surge of emotions in her chest.
