Mingdai stood up and looked at He Yaonian hesitantly.
She asked He Yaonian, "Should I notify anyone else?"
She's gone, so someone has to stay here and take care of He Yaonian.
He Yaonian fell silent.
He glanced at Mingdai, his expression unreadable, but it gave Mingdai a sudden feeling of loneliness.
Mingdai couldn't understand this person's thoughts at all.
Leaving is not an option, nor is staying.
After a brief standoff, she sat back down.
She should stay here until He Xingjian returns.
He Yaonian remained silent and closed his eyes to rest.
Mingdai couldn't just sit there doing nothing, but when she tried to chat with He Yaonian, he acted like he didn't want to talk to her at all.
What should we do then?
After a long silence, He Xingjian still hadn't returned, for some reason.
Mingdai noticed that He Yaonian was slowly sliding down from his original leaning position.
Thinking He Yaonian was asleep, she hurriedly went over to support his head and quietly straightened the pillow.
"Third Uncle?"
He called He Yaonian in a very soft voice.
He Yaonian didn't make much of a move, but he lay down to cooperate with Mingdai.
Mingdai carefully pulled the blanket up for He Yaonian, and was just about to sit back down when He Yaonian suddenly opened his eyes.
Mingdai felt a jolt of fear, her heart pounding wildly.
He Yaonian's eyes were completely clear, without a trace of confusion.
"You...you're not asleep?"
Before Mingdai could finish her question, He Yaonian asked, "Why pretend that nothing happened?"
"ah?"
Mingdai was completely confused.
"Third Uncle, what are you talking about? What did I pretend to be?"
"Back then..."
The words were on the tip of his tongue, but for some reason, He Yaonian suddenly stopped.
Ming Dai was completely baffled.
She quietly sat back down on the stool by the bed.
"nothing."
He Yaonian didn't intend to continue speaking. He looked at the ceiling of the ward, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly.
"If you don't want to stay here, then you can leave."
What on earth is going on?
Mingdai was completely bewildered.
"I don't want to leave, and I'm not leaving."
She noticed that He Yaonian's arm seemed to be bleeding, though it wasn't very obvious.
"Third Uncle, the wound seems to still be bleeding. I'll go get the doctor."
"Mingdai".
He Yaonian called out to Mingdai.
Mingdai turned to look at him.
He Yaonian lost too much blood, and his lips were white.
He shook his head. "It's nothing, no need to trouble the doctor."
Mingdai frowned, "But..."
“Sit down, let’s chat for a while,” He Yaonian requested.
What can you talk to him about?
Mingdai didn't know.
Their lives were completely different, and they didn't have much in common. As for topics of conversation...
Mingdai obediently sat down.
If He Yaonian said he wanted to talk about something, then he must have been the one to initiate the conversation.
He Yaonian remained silent for a while, seemingly somewhat helpless.
"Don't you have anything you want to ask me?"
Mingdai: "?"
Her head, which was still foggy from He Yaonian's actions, suddenly remembered something.
The timing is good.
She hesitated for a moment.
"Third Uncle, I heard that Mo Tingchuan and his sister are going to become real members of the He family, is that right?"
She couldn't let Mo Tingchuan have his way.
He Yaonian remained expressionless, "No matter what, he's still my elder brother's child."
Mingdai was shocked.
"But didn't you say you weren't willing..."
When did I say that?
He Yaonian is like a rogue.
He seemed to struggle to recall, then shook his head, "I didn't say that."
Mingdai was getting a little anxious.
“You know what kind of person Mo Tingchuan is, and you know his mother and sister’s character very well. How can you allow someone like that to…”
"It was bound to happen sooner or later."
He Yaonian interrupted Mingdai.
He told Mingdai, "The He family will not allow its bloodline to be lost to the outside world."
Mingdai opened her mouth, but couldn't say anything.
She assumed that the He family had no good feelings towards Mo Tingchuan and his two children, and felt that He Yaonian, as the head of the family, would never allow his illegitimate child to openly become a member of the He family.
But times have changed. Indeed, as He Yaonian said, no matter what, Mo Tingchuan and his sister are both of the He family’s bloodline.
"Third Uncle."
He Xingjian finally returned, followed by He Xingyue.
Before He Xingyue could even greet Ming Dai, she rushed forward to anxiously inquire about He Yaonian's injuries.
Seeing this, Mingdai quietly told He Xingjian and then left the hospital.
I don't want to go back to the He family either.
I slept in my own apartment for one night.
I woke up this morning to find my phone had been bombarded with calls from Mo Tingchuan.
After Mingdai finished washing up and drank a glass of water, she sat down and then answered Mo Tingchuan's call.
Where did you go last night?
Mo Tingchuan acted as if he had caught his wife cheating.
"Mingdai, you'd better tell the truth."
Mingdai found it amusing. "Don't try to make me sound like you. I don't have that kind of energy, nor that kind of interest, and I'm certainly not as filthy as you."
Mo Tingchuan, suspicious and paranoid, asked, "Then where exactly are you?"
"I met with that man once."
I don't know why, but Mingdai suddenly said that.
Mo Tingchuan fell silent.
Mingdai hung up the phone.
I saw that Sister Le sent me a message inviting her to play golf.
Mingdai changed her clothes and went out.
On the golf course, Mingdai swung a few shots, all of which were good, and Sister Le clapped and cheered her on.
The two played for a while before sitting down to drink water.
“Mo Tingchuan has recently lost several business deals. If this continues, he won’t be able to sit still any longer.”
