He Yaonian seemed to be deep in thought.
"Then let him cough up a house."
Mingdai's eyes immediately lit up.
"Thank you, Third Uncle."
He Yaonian observed that she was sometimes depressed and sometimes happy. She had a bad temper, but it came and went quickly, and she was easy to coax.
"If you want to thank me, I want something tangible."
He Yaonian hinted to Mingdai, "Once it's done, you can't go back on your word."
This stumped Mingdai.
She asked curiously, "What does Third Uncle want?"
He Yaonian checked the time; he had been there for quite a while, and if he stayed any longer, he would be discovered.
"Come inside."
He Yaonian has long legs, but he walks slowly to wait for Mingdai.
Mingdai followed closely behind him.
"Third Uncle, you haven't told us what you want yet."
"Think for yourself."
Mingdai was depressed.
"Look, I've already told you what I want directly, why do you still make me guess? I'm not a mind reader."
"You're just shameless."
Mingdai: "..."
If it's not generous, then relying solely on her own strength, who knows when things will be accomplished.
Hugging someone's coattails isn't something shameful to talk about; it's a sign of wit.
"You'd better tell me sooner rather than later, so I don't end up being caught off guard and unable to meet your expectations."
"If you keep using those 'you, you, you'll be sure I won't help you with anything anymore."
He Yaonian thought that by going along with Mingdai's wishes, she would no longer resent her.
I never expected that they would still hold a grudge.
Hearing He Yaonian say this, Mingdai suddenly realized that, without knowing when, she had stopped using honorifics to address He Yaonian, and instead addressed him like an ordinary friend.
