Chapter 27
The atmosphere on the road seemed to be frozen.
"Boss!"
Seventeen opened the car door loudly and said, "We're here!"
Milo blinked slowly, his eyes inexplicably red and swollen.
Seventeen paused.
The car was eerily quiet.
Arthur got out of the car first and brushed past Seventeen's shoulder.
"You guys go first, I have something else to do."
Actually, there is nothing wrong.
Arthur was strolling in the garden.
Unlike the scenery in ordinary story settings, the Zerg world has many flowers and plants that he has never seen before.
Suddenly, he heard a few heavy gasps. Arthur turned his head and saw a plant that looked like a big-mouthed flower facing him. It had a bright red fruit in its mouth and was shaking it angrily.
The big mouth flower aimed at Arthur.
Arthur blinked.
call out--
The fruit shot towards Arthur like a bullet at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour.
Arthur raised his hand to catch it.
The sneak attack failed, and the big-mouthed flower tightened its buds in frustration and quickly retreated into the lush branches and leaves.
This scene is inexplicably funny.
Arthur raised the corner of his lips, twisted the fruit with his fingertips, and planned to find a place to throw it away.
Suddenly, something tickled his trouser leg.
A furry paw poked out of the grass.
The kitten with orange and yellow tiger stripes turned its paws upwards, revealing a pink pad, as if signaling Arthur to give it the fruit.
"Then I'll give it to you."
Arthur curved his eyebrows, squatted down, and placed the fruit on the kitten's paw pad.
A loud sound of leaves hitting each other soon came from the grass, like a kitten wagging its tail excitedly.
Through the grass, Arthur heard the sound of a kitten chewing fruit.
Arthur's heart melted.
Suddenly, he felt something approaching him.
A huge shadow cast its shadow on the ground in front of him.
Arthur looked up.
The old man with gray hair had a majestic figure and stood in front of Arthur like a door. His shoulders were broad and strong, which did not match his age.
Meeting Arthur's gaze, the old man smiled kindly, then called out to the bushes:
"Guoguo, come out quickly."
The grass began to tremble.
Just as a shadow passed by, Guoguo jumped onto the old man's shoulder.
After seeing the pair of sharp dragon horns between the ears of the Gogo beast, Arthur was stunned.
The dragon's tail wrapped around the old man's neck, and the tip of the tail swung intermittently. Seeing Arthur staring at him, Guoguo's cat ears twitched, seeming a little displeased.
My Neighbor Totoro?
Arthur almost blurted out the words, but after thinking about it, he thought it was a bit nonsensical, so he swallowed the words back.
"This little guy is..." Arthur looked at the old man.
The old man threw his head back and laughed, his laughter was hearty.
"It's a chinchilla."
It’s actually called Totoro?
Sensing Arthur's surprise, the old man scratched Guoguo's chin, wrinkles forming at the corners of his eyes in a kind manner. "This was called out by a child many years ago. I thought it was appropriate, so I kept calling it that."
Arthur also extended his hand like the old man.
Guoguo sniffed his fingertips, then lowered her head obediently, allowing Arthur to caress her.
"So cute." Arthur smiled.
After stroking enough, Arthur withdrew his hand contentedly. Unexpectedly, when he looked up, he found that the old man was looking at him with a loving face.
"Your name is Arthur, isn't it?"
Arthur raised his eyebrows, a little surprised: "You know me?"
The old man shook his head, and there was an inexplicable sense of relief in his smile.
"Your father and I are old acquaintances." After a pause, the old man looked at Arthur carefully before continuing, "You and your father look a lot like each other."
Arthur recalled.
In these eight hundred years, he has been to too many worlds and played at least nine thousand roles.
To be honest, he had no idea who his father was in this world, let alone the old man in front of him who had never appeared in the original plot.
Arthur showed a guilty look: "I am so shortsighted that I didn't recognize you. I think my father must have mentioned you before. I..."
The old man smiled and shook his head: "No, I'm afraid he won't mention me to you."
Vaguely realizing that there might be something hidden, Arthur pondered for a moment and spoke tentatively.
"I wonder what the old gentleman's name is?"
"What should I call you..." The old man seemed to be in a dilemma: "Yes, what should I call you?"
In the distance, the bells on the palace roof rang out.
The banquet has begun.
The sound of hurried footsteps came from the other end of the path.
"Lord? Are you there?"
It's Milo.
Arthur instinctively took a step forward, but suddenly stopped.
"Hero!"
Milo walked around the cover of flowers and plants, and his eyes lit up instantly.
A little bit of sunset light was imprinted on the snow-white hair, softening the young man's cold and hard outline.
"I thought you… No, it's nothing."
Milo shook his head, smiled brightly, and trotted up to take Arthur's sleeve.
"The party has started, let's go together."
Why didn't it enter the breeding season?
Why not be with Seventeen?
Why did you come to see him?
Hundreds of thousands of questions were churning in Arthur's heart, and hidden among those hundreds of thousands of questions was an imperceptible sense of relief.
Milo's pupils suddenly shrank.
The old man is still beside.
"Old General..."
Arthur heard Milo mutter.
Seeing the two of them looking at him, the old man smiled and said, "See you next time, little friend."
Guoguo opened his mouth wide and yawned loudly.
The man and the beast left quickly.
Arthur stepped back and pulled the cuff out of Milo's hand.
"What about Seventeen?"
The smile in Milo's eyes faded, and he stared at Arthur, his grip tightening.
"Do you really have to ask this question?"
Arthur turned his head away, avoiding his gaze. "The party is about to begin, let's go first."
"...You can let me go now."
The two sat down at the banquet.
The banquet had already begun. The singing and dancing actors were singing non-stop in the center of the huge banquet hall, but no one at the table picked up their chopsticks.
It was eerily quiet, so quiet that only the singing could be heard.
"Why?"
Milo didn't look at him, but just kept his back straight.
"Aren't we husband and wife?"
Arthur suddenly didn't know what to say.
He suddenly noticed the person sitting at the highest seat at the banquet. The person had a half-smile on his face and his eyes were fixed on the two of them.
Arthur suddenly realized that they were being watched by the Emperor.
Everyone present understood why they were getting married; even the emperor was waiting to see Milo's joke. Only Milo himself could clearly describe how embarrassing it was.
Thinking of this, Arthur suddenly leaned forward.
His movement was too sudden, and Milo's body stiffened suddenly.
Arthur's fingertips gently fell on Milo's hair and picked up a tender pink petal, which was probably picked up when Milo came to see him.
"Thank you." Milo lowered his head, the tips of his ears slightly red.
"I've long heard that you two are deeply in love, and now that I see you, it's true."
A middle-aged man with ordinary appearance sat high up in the seat, with a thick and shiny suit of armor hanging behind him, symbolizing his unattainable status.
"His Majesty."
Arthur stood up and bowed with dignity.
"Your Majesty personally arranged the marriage. How dare we, your servants, betray your Majesty's wishes?"
The emperor chuckled softly, his gaze sweeping over the two of them. "What should I do? I have an important mission to give to Commander Arthur. Wouldn't this make me the culprit for breaking up a couple?"
Arthur's clothes were suddenly pulled tighter.
Milo's expression was not visible, but his straight back revealed his wariness and nervousness.
Arthur patted the back of Milo's hand under the table.
Don't worry.
Arthur gave him a reassuring look.
This matter will not involve you.
Arthur stood up.
The singer in the center of the banquet hall seemed to have noticed something and stopped singing, retreating. Everyone's eyes were focused on Arthur, each with their own thoughts.
Arthur knelt down and looked straight into the pair of smiling eyes that were unable to tell the depth of their smiles.
"I will not refuse death."
"good!"
The emperor clapped his hands and shouted:
"Since Commander Arthur is so willing, I will order you to suppress the rebellion of the female insects on the seventy-four planets."
Seventy-four Stars is a remote and impoverished area on the edge of the galaxy, and most of the people living here are troublesome people who are out of control.
Arthur was buried here.
In the original plot, the emperor arranged for Milo to go with him so that he could find an opportunity to get rid of Milo in a remote place, but he didn't expect that he would fall into the trap designed by Milo and Seventeen and be killed by the two.
I don’t know why the emperor only sent him this time, but it’s a good thing. He can take the opportunity to fake his death and leave this world in a reasonable way without having to worry about Milo’s resentment value fluctuating.
Arthur felt relieved thinking about it.
"I understand—"
"etc!"
Hurtu suddenly raised his hand and interrupted Arthur loudly.
The emperor raised an eyebrow in interest. "Oh? What do you want to say?"
"Forgive me for being nosy."
Huertu clasped his fists, grinned, and glanced at Arthur and the other man with some ill intentions.
"I do have a solution that would satisfy both of us, but I'm not sure if Commander Arthur would be willing to listen." Seeing Arthur's brows slightly furrowed, Huertu could barely suppress his triumphant smile. "How about letting Commander Milo go to the Seventy-Four Stars with us?"
“No need.”
Arthur said coldly.
"Captain Huertu, are you questioning my ability?"
Huertu laughed gruffly:
"What are you talking about, Commander Arthur? Two people are always better than being alone. What's more, female insects understand female insects better. With Commander Milo here, Commander Arthur will be even more powerful in suppressing them..."
Out of the corner of his eye, Milo stood up from his seat.
Arthur could no longer hear what Huertu said next. He used his eyes to stop the figure from approaching.
But Milo still knelt down beside him.
For a moment, Arthur's view was mostly blocked by Milo.
"I ask that you go with Sir Arthur."
The young man looked up at the emperor who was sitting on the throne with unpredictable thoughts. His fair hair was blown by the draft, and his eyes were as bright as torches.
The emperor chuckled:
"Captain Milo, we are both female insects, so please don't be soft-hearted."
"You shouldn't have come."
As departure approached, Arthur was the first to break the silence.
The spaceship has stopped at the door, waiting for the two to board. Once the spaceship starts, there will be no turning back.
Arthur stared at the figures walking under the spaceship not far away. Against the backdrop of the huge object, they looked like black ants that would be crushed with a light kick.
"Since Huertu made such a proposal, he definitely has no good intentions, and neither does the Emperor. This mission is sensitive. If you fail to meet their expectations in even a single step, you could easily be accused of collaborating with the enemy."
At this point, Arthur paused and looked at Milo:
"It's not too late to regret now."
Milo blinked.
"My Lord is worried about me."
Arthur was stunned. He opened his mouth quickly but couldn't utter any rebuttal.
"Who said that? I just..."
Just what?
Milo smiled.
...I just want to complete the task quickly.
"Qin Yi."
Arthur muttered.
Milo frowned: "Who is Qin Yi?"
Arthur's mind went blank for a moment, but Milo had already leaned forward and pressed forward.
"Who is Qin Yi? The female servant? Or your former lover? Why are you mentioning him suddenly? Do you like him more?"
After the last question, their foreheads were almost touching.
Arthur felt a little numb from Milo's stare, and he took a step back.
"No……"
"Hero!"
A figure suddenly rushed over from a distance.
It's that female servant.
"I have something to say!"
