Chapter 28

Chapter 28

"What do you want to say?"

Arthur looked at the maid.

Seeing everyone's eyes on her, the female servant straightened her back as if to encourage herself, "I know..."

"Just say what you want to say."

Milo suddenly spoke.

From an angle Arthur couldn't see, his beautiful eyes narrowed, revealing a hint of murderous intent: "If we delay the suppression of the army, none of us can bear the responsibility."

The maid's shoulders trembled.

Of course Arthur sensed something, but he didn't want to care anymore. He had already made up his mind to take advantage of this failed suppression to leave this world.

As for what secret connection there was between Milo and the female servant, he was not interested.

Arthur raised his chin.

"If there's nothing else to say, we'll leave."

The maid's eyes trembled.

"No!"

"Will you...come back?"

The female servant seemed to suddenly realize something, and she looked at Arthur with complicated eyes, as if she was already prepared to part.

"Heroic Lord."

Milo then stepped forward and took Arthur's arm.

"We should set off now. There are so many people waiting."

Without stopping, Arthur turned and walked towards the spaceship. Suddenly he stopped and looked back at the female servant.

"Someone will come and properly accommodate you. Just tell him if you want anything."

"Don't wait until I get back."

"...Yes, Lord."

The maid stood still.

He watched the two men walk further and further away, and saw Arthur step into the spaceship first.

His view was blocked by Milo.

The famous female insect marshal turned around and looked at him. As expected of someone who was used to winning, even her pity for the loser seemed natural to her.

But between the two of them, who is more pitiful?

Who can say for sure?

The female servant went against the flow of people suppressing the army and gradually disappeared.

One person leaves, but the story goes on.

——

"Report to the boss!"

Seventeen knocked on the wide-open door, then skillfully pulled open the soft leather armchair opposite Arthur.

Milo stopped what he was doing and looked up at him. Seventeen coughed lightly, stood up straight in front of Arthur, and called out reluctantly:

"Sir Arthur."

Arthur held his forehead and said, "Just get to the point."

After two days of getting along, although Seventeen's attitude towards him was not as bad as it was at the beginning, it seemed that he still had a lot of opinions about him.

Arthur actually doesn't care what Seventeen thinks of him, and he doesn't care about calling him that, but Milo always insists on this "my subordinates are your subordinates" drama.

When it came to the point, Seventeen also became serious and quickly opened the communicator.

A huge projection rose in the air. It was a galaxy map with the spaceship as the center. Red spider-web-like rays continued to spread out in all directions, searching for any abnormal conditions.

Seventeen pointed to a small bright red dot on the spider web.

"This ship is following us."

Arthur stared at the tiny dot that was traveling at almost the same speed as their ship, tapping his knuckles.

Those people didn't seem to intend to catch up.

"What do you think?" Arthur turned the soft leather chair around to face Milo.

"Tracking?" Milo raised his chin. "I won't move until the enemy moves. It's better not to alert them."

Arthur agreed.

"Then I'll go check the details of that spaceship first."

Seventeen turned off the projection.

Seventeen retreated swiftly to the door and suddenly stopped. He sniffed the air and said, "Boss, are you going to…"

The two people across the long table looked at him at the same time.

Seventeen's throat choked and he swallowed the rest of the words.

"No, nothing. I'm leaving."

The door slammed shut, and the echo lingered for a moment before dying down.

Arthur knew the word that Seventeen couldn't say.

Breeding season.

Milo knew it, of course.

The air fluctuated silently, a declaration engraved in the female insect's genes.

Quantitative change leads to qualitative change. The arrival of the breeding season is just a matter of a moment and can happen at any time.

Arthur stood up and walked out the door:

"I'll go call Seventeen back."

Suddenly, someone grabbed his sleeve.

The scorching fingertips probed slowly, from the cuff to the wrist bone. Like a spark of electricity, Arthur felt his body instantly heat up.

"I don't want anyone else..."

Milo's dark eyes were moistened with desire, and he looked at Arthur wetly:

"I only want you."

Arthur's fingers curled convulsively.

He slowly pulled his hand out.

"Then take medicine. The spaceship should have female insect inhibitors. I'll go get them."

"No!" Milo suddenly panicked. "Medicine won't work. I can't take medicine!"

"Why not?"

Arthur frowned.

He knew very well that this mission was a complete trap. Now there was a spaceship following them from an unknown force. If they made a mistake, all of them would die.

"One of us has to stay awake and take command, otherwise—"

Arthur suddenly stopped.

Someone was holding his hand.

The hand holding his wrist was shaking.

The lower abdomen under his palm was flat and soft, like a piece of fertile soil.

The only sound in the air was the rapid breathing of the two people.

After a long time, Arthur came back to his senses from his daze and looked up to meet Milo's sad eyes, which should have been filled with joy.

"Help me, Lord."

Milo looked at him:

"He needs you."

——

The rich pheromones of the male insect filled the room, building the best nest for the female insect and the life in his belly.

On the bed, Milo was breathing lightly and sleeping soundly.

Arthur was very annoyed.

She clearly took birth control pills, so why did the plot develop like this?

What should I do now? Is Milo about to turn evil? Is the mission going to fail again?

Arthur clenched his fists.

"Tu Tu."

But the little robot that always spoke in a slightly raised tone did not appear.

"Tu Tu?"

The communicator on my wrist suddenly beeped and a message popped up.

[Seventeen: How's the boss doing? Can we land?]

To ensure safety, they had to wait until Milo's breeding season was over before landing on Planet 74. However, the unidentified spacecraft was chasing them closely, which meant they didn't have much time left.

Arthur pinched his brows irritably.

We have to wait a little longer.

Before he could send his reply, Seventeen couldn't wait to send him a call request.

The communicator vibrated harshly, and Arthur quickly stood up and prepared to leave the room, worried that he would wake up the sleeping Milo.

His body suddenly stopped.

Only then did Arthur realize that Milo had been holding his sleeve, his fingertips tightly gripping it, as if he was afraid of losing him by accident.

Perhaps realizing that Arthur was about to leave, Milo's brows furrowed into a small frown.

Arthur felt like something hit his heart, and he raised his hand to touch Milo's eyebrows.

"I won't leave, don't worry."

The vibration of the communicator on my wrist became increasingly rapid.

Dululu! Dululu!

Arthur threw his coat over Milo and quickly pushed the door open.

Because it was arranged in advance, there were no guards in the corridor.

"How's the investigation going?"

Seventeen suddenly appeared on the other side of the light curtain, his usual cheerful demeanor changed, and his expression became serious: "That spaceship is catching up."

Arthur's hand on the side of the spaceship tightened.

"I looked up the model of that spaceship. Luckily, only two of them were ever built. But guess what?"

Seventeen paused:

"One of them was attacked and taken by the rebels two days ago, and the other was awarded to Huertu by the emperor some time ago."

"Yeah?"

Arthur raised his eyebrows and looked at Seventeen on the screen:

"So which ship do you think is coming after us?"

"If they were rebels, they should have confronted us head-on. Chasing us from behind is obviously illogical."

Seventeen raised his eyebrows:

"Besides, considering Huertu's vindictive personality, I don't think it would be enough for him to just do that."

Seeing Arthur's approving expression, Seventeen grinned with his two shiny white fangs.

"So, what does Commander Arthur plan to do?"

There was a sound of something falling in the room.

Arthur turned and walked back, without a trace of hesitation in his steps.

"Blast him."

Arthur shrugged nonchalantly. "Anyway, you said one of them fell into the hands of the rebels. Even if it accidentally injured our colleagues in the court, who knows which ship is following us?"

"receive."

Seventeen snapped his fingers.

Seeing the changes in Arthur's surroundings, Seventeen poked his head out curiously:

"By the way, you haven't replied to me yet. How is the boss now? - Beep."

Arthur turned off the communicator and pushed open the door.

The young man who fell to the ground raised his eyes quickly, and the moment he saw that it was him, Milo's eyes turned red.

"I thought you were gone."

The young man's tone sounded aggrieved, and he held tightly in his arms the coat left by Arthur.

Arthur squatted down in front of Milo, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. "Didn't I tell you I won't leave?"

Milo threw his coat away and snuggled into Arthur's arms, his soft hair rubbing against Arthur's neck. "What if you're lying to me?"

"No," Arthur sighed, rubbing the back of Milo's head, "I won't lie to you."

"But I always feel that you will leave suddenly." Milo raised his head from Arthur's neck and looked at him.

Arthur's heart tightened.

Because Milo's intuition was right.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Milo's eyes suddenly became flustered.

The young man quickly pulled Arthur's hand and pressed it against his lower abdomen: "Please don't go, please. Don't leave us."

us.

Arthur's heart trembled, and a strange feeling welled up in him, like warm spring water, softening his heart.

Milo's pair of dark, bright eyes stared at him intently, his tone almost bewitching, weaving a web called the Land of Tenderness: "We won't leave you alone anymore."

Arthur suddenly felt angry.

So what if I’m not alone anymore? Won’t you still forget me if I leave this world?

Why are you trying to give me hope by saying something like that? Aren't you the one who forgot me?

Arthur stood up suddenly.

"Hero Lord?"

The air suddenly fluctuated because of the female insect's panic, but Arthur did not lower his head.

He left Milo behind almost heartlessly.

He knew that Milo and Qin Yi were not the same person at all, and he was just taking his anger out on others.

But if it rains continuously, don’t expect it, don’t expect it.

"Don't say that again."

Milo stared blankly at the closed door. Arthur's last words were like a sharp knife stabbing deep into his heart.

it hurts.

"Boss?"

Seventeen looked at him worriedly on the screen. Twenty-nine seconds had passed since the video was connected, but Milo still hadn't spoken.

"Are you still not feeling well? No wonder Arthur... the commander didn't tell me about your condition just now. Since you're so uncomfortable, wouldn't it be wrong for me to disturb you now?"

"Seventeen."

Milo came to his senses belatedly.

There is a void in my heart, as if it is leaking air.

A thought lingered in my empty heart.

Milo looked up at Seventeen on the screen:

"What should a child do if his father doesn't want him to be?"
