Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Bang bang bang!

The knock on the door exploded unexpectedly, startling Lian Yu so much that his shoulders trembled.

Lian Yang's anxious shout rang out from outside the door: "Brother Qin Yi? Old man? Are you in there?"

Lian Yu was about to answer when his thoughts suddenly got stuck.

etc--

Old thing?

who?

Me?

The loading circle was still spinning slowly above Lian Yu's head, but the door had already started to move.

"No response, did something happen? Never mind, just break the door!"

The doorknob turned a quick half circle in the air—

Click.

There was a slight sound from the lock core, and a crack appeared at the edge of the door.

"Wait wait wait wait wait!"

Lian Yu's scalp tingled and he slammed the door shut again.

He thought he had handled the scene so well that it was difficult to find any flaws, but the opponent was the protagonist, and the plot would prompt Lian Yang to smell something abnormal from the clues. By that time, let alone completing the mission, he would most likely die miserably.

"What are you waiting for?"

After confirming that everyone inside was alright, Lian Yang breathed a sigh of relief, and then his tone became irritable: "It's nothing shameful!"

It really does exist.

Lian Yu laughed dryly in his heart and instinctively looked at Qin Yi who was sleeping on the ground.

But I met a pair of clear eyes.

Lian Yu was stunned.

When did Qin Yi wake up?

Those sleepless eyes made Lian Yu feel disappointed.

Qin Yi looked at him.

Lian Yu slowly released his hand from the door and looked away:

"I'm leaving now."

"Why don't you just let it go earlier? You've been hesitating for so long. I wonder what you think is going on."

Lian Yang pushed the warehouse door open and rushed in.

Seeing Qin Yi lying on the ground, Lian Yang paused and said, "Brother Qin Yi, are you... okay?"

Qin Yi shook his head and stood up with the help of the wall.

Lian Yu noticed that the young man's knuckles were turning white from exerting force.

"Teacher Qin!"

Xiao Shan rushed into Qin Yi's arms with tears in her eyes, knocking the young man's body off balance.

The palms at his sides clenched suddenly, and Lian Yu almost rushed over to support the other person.

That's not his concern.

"Huh?"

Xiao Shan suddenly raised his head in Qin Yi's arms, his misty eyes staring at Lian Yu's neck curiously:

"Uncle Lian has a red thing on his neck, like a small strawberry."

The air was still for a brief moment.

Lian Yu covered his neck.

Lian Yang slowly turned his head and squinted at him suspiciously.

"It's a mosquito," Lian Yu put down his hand and looked back without any guilt. "I paid so much money, and you can't even solve such a small problem?"

Lian Yang spread his hands, his eyes filled with disbelief: "How am I supposed to kill mosquitoes all over the house? You want me to do something that even scientists can't solve?"

"How you solve it is your business," Lian Yu said expressionlessly, his tone provocative and demanding, "What I want is the result."

Lian Yang gritted his teeth and kept silent.

Seeing that the situation was at a stalemate, Qin Yi interrupted the two of them at the right time.

"Xiao Yang, as soon as Mr. Lian heard that you were injured in the warehouse, he hurriedly dragged me to find you, and that's how we got trapped." Intent on easing the relationship between the two, Qin Yi smiled and tugged at Lian Yu's clothes: "But I'm glad Xiao Yang is okay, right, Mr. Lian?"

Lian Yu looked at Lian Yang.

Lian Yang glared: "Who said I was injured?"

Without waiting for their answer, Lian Yang waved his hand irritably and pulled Qin Yi out of the warehouse.

"Let's talk about it later."

The warehouse door slammed shut.

Lian Yu blinked in the aftershock of dust.

I guess I just...got away with it, right?

"Tu Tu," Lian Yu stared at the backs of the two people leaving and asked, "I... shouldn't be finished... right?"

[Don't worry! Tutu will save Xiaoyu!]

In my head, Tutu jumped up passionately, but it made Lian Yu feel cold all over.

“…Thank you.”

Out of the corner of his eye, Lian Yu suddenly noticed a figure wearing a baseball cap.

Lian Yu was stunned and looked over.

The man, wearing a washed-out electrician's jacket, was lifting a toolbox from the ground with his calloused hands. The toolbox clanked, and his eyes peeked from beneath the brim of his hat for a moment before quickly retreating.

The man nodded at Lian Yu.

Lian Yu was stunned.

"Uncle Zhang."

The gentle breath stopped beside Lian Yu, like moonlight.

Qin Yi turned back at some point and gave the man a friendly smile: "Thanks to you, we won't be trapped for too long."

"fine."

Uncle Zhang smiled and waved his hand innocently: "Mr. Xiao Lian noticed that you had been missing for too long, so he came to find me."

Is it Uncle Zhang that Lian Yang is looking for?

Lian Yu frowned.

Qin Yi obviously realized something: "Where's Xiaoguang?"

Uncle Zhang shook his head.

"I don't know."

Xiao Shan appeared out of nowhere and hugged Qin Yi's arm.

"I haven't seen Xiao Guang since last night." She tilted her head and thought for a moment, then ran towards the garden in a hurry: "I'll go ask Xiao Deng!"

A tender child's voice came from afar, and Qin Yi laughed, feeling helpless and indulgent.

Uncle Zhang had some work to do, so he said goodbye to the two men. They stood side by side, a respectful distance between them, watching Uncle Zhang leave.

In the field of vision, slender white fingers inadvertently took hold of the corner of Lian's raincoat.

"Mr. Lian"

Qin Yi looked at him, a pair of crescent eyes filled with spring water.

"Let's go to the garden too. Maybe Hikaru is having a hard time looking for us."

The spring scenery is pleasant.

A gentle breeze rustled through the willows, bringing with it the rich aroma of cookies baking on a tray. The venue was simply decorated but warm, with long wooden chairs tied with pink ribbons, balloons with smiley faces painted on them, and small, tender yellow flowers under the fence.

The children ran around and played.

As the two approached, it was the sharp-eyed kid who started shouting first, and the garden soon erupted in an uproar.

"Teacher Qin!"

"Teacher Qin, you are finally here!"

The little sparrows surrounded Qin Yi in three layers, chirping one after another, and soon they squeezed Lian Yu out of the crowd.

Lian Yu was happy to be ignored.

His heart settled back into his chest, and he silently retreated to the baking tray, picked up a cookie and put it into his mouth.

After chewing for a while, Lian Yu frowned.

"Blurred?"

"Of course not."

Lian Yang didn't look at him, only muttering to himself, "This is just a fire, the fire is so strong, how can it not burn?"

Lian Yu almost choked to death on a mouthful of potato that was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside.

Amidst the coughing, Lian Yang turned around and said, "Hey," as if he had just noticed Lian Yu. "You're here too."

Lian Yu noticed that Lian Yang stuffed an empty tube of suppressant into his pocket.

Lian Yang stared at him:

"Are you free? To chat?"

Did you see it!

Lian Yu screamed silently in her heart.

[What do you see?] Tutu tilted his head, and his two mechanical ears twirled.

He's taking inhibitors! Isn't this definitely a duel?

Although Lian Yang is an omega, his body shape is similar to Lian Yu. Otherwise, in the original story, Lian Yu would not have never doubted the true gender of his younger brother until he died.

If a fight really breaks out, it's hard to say which side has a better chance of winning.

After all, the one opposite is the protagonist.

Just when Lian Yu was estimating his fighting strength, Lian Yang stopped.

Less than ten minutes later, Lian Yu returned to the warehouse door and fell silent.

Now he was even more certain that the protagonist was here to settle the score with him.

[To stand firm or to slide, that is the question.] Little Shakespeare recited with great emotion.

Continuous Rain: TD

When I pushed open the warehouse door again, there seemed to be a faint scent of pheromones lingering in the air.

With a snap, the incandescent light above my head lit up.

"Um," Lian Yu's scalp tingled, "You misunderstood—"

“No more.”

Lian Yang stared at the ground.

"What's gone?"

Looking over, Lian Yu quickly understood.

The broken pieces of bottle had long since disappeared from the empty ground, but he clearly remembered that the pool of broken glass was still on the ground when he left.

But now it’s gone.

"What on earth is it..." Lian Yu murmured.

“It’s an inducer.”

Lian Yang rarely looked serious, his brows knitted together. "Just inhalation alone can induce estrus, primarily targeting omegas. However, due to the overlap in targets, alphas will also be affected, though to a lesser degree—"

Lian Yang glanced at him and added, "That's why you guys were able to finish so promptly, right after I ruined two trays of cookies."

Lian Yu choked in his throat.

There are so many complaints about this sentence that I don’t know where to start.

Lian Yu pinched his brows and brought the topic back on track: "What about you? How do you know so much?"

Lian Yang gritted his teeth and looked at him, looking like he was about to faint from anger.

Lian Yu is puzzled.

Lian Yang closed his eyes and took a long breath: "Do you know what I am doing now?"

"Talking... to me?"

“I’m studying for a PhD!”

Lian Yang took a deep breath and gathered his strength. "My research direction is this new inducer. Recently, there have been many cases of omegas being attacked with this new inducer. We have even established cooperation with the police. Did you know this? And I'm graduating this year, you know? Mom always tells me to pay more attention to you. Have you paid attention to me? And what about 'talking to me'? What else can you do, you damn capitalist, besides ordering people around—"

"I understand!" Lian Yu suddenly raised his head.

The warehouse suddenly became quiet.

Lian Yang pursed his lips and asked stiffly, "What do you understand?"

"You said this inducer mainly targets omegas, so is there a possibility that this trap—"

Lian Yu paused:

"It was originally designed for you and Qin Yi."

That's right. The secret room where you can't get out without doing it is originally a part of the intimate play between the protagonist and the bottom.

I just don’t know which step went wrong, which led to him and Qin Yi being the ones to enter the room.

Lian Yang opened his mouth:

"Why? What's that person's purpose? Because I participated in the police investigation, so he wants to start with me? Impossible. Apart from the police, who else would know that I participated in the operation? Is there a traitor? Impossible..."

As he murmured, Lian Yang's eyes gradually stiffened.

"Lian Yang!"

Lian Yu suddenly grabbed the other person's shoulders.

"Don't even think about it. You've done well enough. You've keenly noticed the anomaly. Just investigate slowly later. Since this ruse didn't work, the other party won't give up easily. Sooner or later, they'll reveal their true intentions."

Perhaps he understood what was said, Lian Yang nodded slightly.

Lian Yu breathed a sigh of relief.

The tense atmosphere dissipated, and Lian Yu was silent for a moment before speaking again: "As for Qin Yi and I, don't worry, there is nothing between us, it was just an accident."

Lian Yang looked at him, then suddenly turned his head to look outside the door.

Lian Yu's heart skipped a beat.

An ominous premonition enveloped him, and Lian Yu turned his head slightly.

Qin Yi was looking at him.
