Chapter 37
Three months later.
Yan Yuheng had been clamoring to take Mo Yousen out for a trip during the Chinese New Year, but since it was their first year together, they didn't want to hold a wedding or anything like that. They would eventually take Mo Yousen to introduce him to relatives and friends, and the etiquette couldn't be omitted.
After finally getting through the Lunar New Year holiday, Yan Yuheng was once again bogged down by a new project. The trip kept getting delayed, and finally, in early March, Yan Yuheng couldn't stand it anymore. He dropped everything, let Wen Xian take charge, and began preparing the trip himself.
Yan Yuheng personally packed their luggage and immediately took Mo Yousen on their journey.
First, it was a flight of more than ten hours, then a transfer, and finally a boat ride ashore. It took nearly 30 hours to reach the destination after a series of twists and turns.
Yan Yuheng took him to Tórshavn, a city located in the south of Streymoy Island.
The air around me was crisp and sweet, with the unique scent of the North Atlantic, mixed with seaweed and rain mist. There was no rich, pungent floral fragrance like that of tropical islands, but instead a more expansive and clean smell, as if my entire lungs had been cleansed.
As soon as the two stood in this place, they were attracted by the colorful houses. Mo Yousen decided to stay here for ten days or half a month as a honeymoon.
Yan Yuheng and Mo Yousen stood on a gently rolling hillside, overlooking Tórshavn below. It looked less like a typical "city" and more like a small town meticulously arranged by God, nestled peacefully beside a harbor nestled among mountains. The harbor was as smooth as a mirror, with several red and white ferries and fishing boats quietly moored. Occasionally, a long, drawn-out whistle echoed through the mountains, further accentuating its spaciousness and tranquility.
They walked along the winding stone path into the city. The wind sometimes blew strong and sometimes weak, sweeping over the hillside and across the sea, blowing the ends of their hair and the corners of their clothes.
When passing by a small shop selling traditional wool products, Mo Yousen picked up a woolen hat. The soft touch and simple pattern made him fall in love with it.
"It has woven the entire Faroe Islands into it." Mo Yousen said with a smile, and saw from the corner of his eye that Yan Yuheng had already taken out the money to pay.
"Thank you, boss. You are so generous."
Yan Yuheng gently nudged Mo Yousen's forehead and said, "Stop being so poor."
They didn't deliberately look for any famous attractions, but just strolled freely, passing through the quiet streets, passing by the old wooden church, watching the lazy seabirds at the harbor, and the dark green mountains in the distance.
"Xiao Sen, do you like it here?"
Mo Yousen nodded, and when he looked at Yan Yuheng, there was some joy in his eyes, "I like it very much, thank you for bringing me here."
Yan Yuheng rested his head on Mo Yousen's shoulder and said with a bit of disappointment, "Hey, what should we do? We are leaving soon."
Mo Yousen looked into the distance and reached out to comfort Yan Yuheng, "It's okay, we can come here once a year."
The beauty of Tórshavn lies not in its charming scenery. It is not flattering and not noisy. It exists silently in this corner of the world, welcoming every tourist from afar with its cool wind, grass-covered roofs and unchanging mountains and seas.
Yan Yuheng pointed to another small island in the distance. Mo Yousen followed his finger and looked over. "I bought that island as your birthday present. Do you like it?"
Mo Yousen turned his head to look at Yan Yuheng, his eyes filled with surprise and confusion, "Why?"
"Because I want to be a safe haven for my family, Xiaosen. I want to become an isolated island, with you as the only resident on the island to accompany me forever."
Mo Yousen leaned on Yan Yuheng's shoulder and muttered softly, "You have been my safe haven for a long time..."
Yan Yuheng hugged the person in his arms tightly and said, "Give it a name!"
Mo Yousen turned around and hugged him tightly, gently but firmly. "Yan Yuheng, you are mountains, rivers, lakes and seas, as well as steep mountains and raging waves. You are my own island, Mo Yousen's second island."
Yan Yuheng was unhappy, "Why second? Who is first?"
Mo Yousen smiled and buried his face in Yan Yuheng's chest, his voice sounding muffled, "This is my mother's and my home."
Yan Yuheng leaned over and kissed the top of Mo Yousen's head, "I'll be with you from now on. I won't leave."
"Let's call it 'Fairy Tale Island'. My life used to be the dark side of fairy tales, with a wicked stepmother, a blind father, and a reckless brother. But now I have a life even better than the characters in the fairy tale world. You are always by my side, and your parents, relatives, and friends all accept and love me."
"Okay, let's call it 'Fairy Tale Island'."
After returning to Ningcheng, the two distributed the souvenirs they bought during the trip to their relatives and friends.
At night, Yan Yuheng walked over to Mo Yousen and leaned against him. Mo Yousen was looking through their old photo albums. More than twenty years had flowed through his fingers, and countless photos together became a testimony to their relationship.
"Senbao, do you like it?" Yan Yuheng's low voice sounded in his ears. He grabbed Mo Yousen's hand and quietly put the diamond ring on it. Countless small diamonds dotted the men's ring. Yan Yuheng stretched out his hand and placed it aside.
"Yeah. I like it."
Two identical rings shone brightly under the light. Yan Yuheng placed his hand on Mo Yousen's, revealing their rings, and raised his phone to take a picture.
"I've finally got you hooked." Yan Yuheng smiled and posted this photo on his Moments.
Mo Yousen was afraid that he would say something inappropriate, so he quickly took out his cell phone to check.
The text of Yan Yuheng’s circle of friends is very simple, just two words.
mine.
The accompanying picture is the picture of the two people's rings just now, and there is also a picture of Mo Yousen's back that Yan Yuheng took secretly when he was in Tórshavn.
Soon after the photo was posted, there were countless comments.
Zhang Qianyi: [Congratulations! My baby and I will be back from Jiangcheng in a couple of days to attend your wedding.]
Hu Peng: [Shocked! Young Master Yan hasn't posted to WeChat Moments in years! The reason he suddenly announced his relationship is...]
Yan Yuan: [This Xiao Sen's hands are prettier than your dog's paws.]
Pei Man replied to Yan Yuan: [He is a dog, what are you? ]
Wen Xian: [Oh, congratulations.]
…
Mo Yousen felt a warm feeling in his heart, and made the comment as if possessed by a ghost.
Mo Yousen: [Husband, I love you.]
"Fuck! What did you say to me?" Yan Yuheng panted and pressed Mo Yousen under him, his eyes burning with anger.
Mo Yousen traced the line of Yan Yuheng's lips with his fingertips and whispered in his ear, "Husband."
"Fuck!!! You don't need to sleep tonight."
Yan Yuheng kicked the door of the room shut, shutting out everything from the outside world.
The branches are lush and leafy, the morning light is quiet. They were clumsily grafted in the rain, their roots already tangled into an unsolvable knot deep in the invisible world.
