"Knock knock knock--" The crisp knock on the door interrupted Pei Tingyu's thoughts.
He put out the unburned cigarette in his hand and strode to open the door.
When he opened the door, Si Yang's bright smile swept away the gloom in his heart.
She had just washed her hair, and her half-dry hair was draped over her shoulders. She wore a cream-colored headband on top of her head and a white sweater, looking gentle and elegant.
"What are you looking at? Don't you recognize me?" Si Yang asked with a smile when he saw him staring at him in a daze.
Pei Tingyu regained his wandering mind. Her dress was not inferior to the girls in this city at all. His white moon was always so dazzling.
A hint of tenderness appeared on the corner of his lips. "Let's go quickly. I'm afraid the noodle shop will close if it's any later."
"Um."
Pei Tingyu went back to get a coat, walked out quickly, closed the door, and left the guesthouse with Si Yang.
The two walked side by side in the streets, and from time to time there were cyclists ringing their bells behind them.
Pei Tingyu protected Si Yang on the inside of the road, keeping a fist's distance from her considerately but cautiously.
Although it is not convenient to hold hands on the street when dating in this era, and you cannot hug each other anytime and anywhere.
Although there is no direct and explicit affection, one can still experience the most simple taste of love in shyness and implicitness.
The street shop selling braised pork and steamed buns was quite busy. Si Yang glanced at it and fell in love with the green bean rolls from the food factory next door.
Pei Tingyu was good at observing people's expressions and bought one for her without waiting for her to speak.
The Zhajiangmian shop was just around the corner. When Si Yang led Pei Tingyu in, there were four or five tables of customers sitting in the shop.
The two of them found a small square table against the wall and sat down. After each of them ordered a bowl of noodles with soybean paste, Pei Tingyu asked her with a bright smile if she wanted to drink soybean milk.
Si Yang was not from Beijing, so naturally he was not used to drinking that stuff, and he immediately rolled his eyes at him.
Pei Tingyu was just about to get himself a portion, but after looking up at Si Yang, he seemed to remember something and replaced the soy milk with Beibingyang soda.
"Just order whatever you want to drink. Why did you change to soda?" Si Yang knew that he wanted to drink soy milk.
"Forget it, I'm afraid you can't stand the smell."
"You drink yours, it won't reach my mouth..." Si Yang suddenly stopped talking halfway. Looking at the evil corners of his lips, she thought of something.
Does he still want to kiss?
"Noodles are coming——"
Two bowls of meaty fried noodles arrived just in time. Si Yang took out her chopsticks and was about to stir them, but Pei Tingyu had already pushed the bowl in front of him to her.
Si Yang didn't hesitate and ate the noodles in big mouthfuls.
I don’t know if it’s an illusion, but I always feel that the meat of this era is particularly fragrant.
After they finished their noodles, they went back to the guesthouse to rest. As they walked through the deserted, dark alley, he held her soft little hand.
Si Yang looked around to see if there was anyone around, so he stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the lips.
After the kiss, she was about to leave but he grabbed her. He put his arm around her waist and pulled her into his arms. "After attending the commendation meeting tomorrow, will you accompany me to a place the day after tomorrow?"
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"I'll tell you when the time comes. Go back first."
Pei Tingyu sent her to the door, handed her the bag of kidney bean rolls, and told her to lock the door before going downstairs.
In this day and age, men and women without a marriage certificate must avoid suspicion in a guesthouse, otherwise they may be arrested as adulterers at any time.
As soon as Pei Tingyu entered the room, he saw several other comrades sitting around two stitched beds playing cards.
The loser has to stick a piece of paper on his face. Several people already have several pieces of white paper stuck on their faces, which makes the scene inexplicably funny.
When the men saw him come in, they immediately started joking and joking:
"Why don't you drink soy milk?"
"Since you don't like the taste, I won't drink it. We still need to kiss each other later..."
The two comrades hugged each other and acted out the scene they had just seen outside the noodle shop, while the other two comrades sat on the side and watched, holding their stomachs and laughing.
