Chapter 1125 Slaughter on the Spot

"You, you all...you'd better not leave, or I'll deal with you later." Realizing he couldn't fight them off, the bully turned and ran.

Where to go?

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Bai Yu stabbed the bully in the chest with his sword, killing him on the spot.

"puff--!"

"No, no, it's terrible! They've killed our leader!"

"That man is a monster!"

"Run, everyone!"

"Let's get going!"

Seeing this, the other thugs dropped their weapons and ran away.

Bai Yu refused to let them go. He threw out hidden weapons and knocked down the fleeing bullies one by one.

The battle was finally over. Xu Yuehuai looked at the corpses scattered on the ground and Bai Yu, who was in a bloodthirsty rage, and couldn't help but feel a little scared.

She looked at Bai Yu gratefully and said, "Thank you for saving me."

Bai Yu smiled slightly: "No need to thank me, it's what I should do." His eyes were full of admiration and respect as he looked at Xu Yuehuai. "You are really brave."

Xu Yuehuai paused, surprised that Bai Yu had praised her so highly. She lowered her head shyly, "Actually, I was also very scared, but I knew I couldn't back down, otherwise I would become fish on their chopping block."

Bai Yu nodded: "Yes, sometimes we must bravely face our fears in order to defeat these evil people."

His eyes were full of admiration and respect as he looked at Xu Yuehuai. "You are an extraordinary woman."

Xu Yuehuai raised her head, smiled faintly, and said nothing more.

The night was deep, and the moonlight was obscured by thick clouds, allowing only a faint silver glow to dapple the forest path.

Xu Yuehuai stood in front of the wooden house, her brows furrowed, her gaze deep and resolute, as if she were pondering her next move.

“This place has been exposed and is no longer safe. We need to find another place quickly.” Xu Yuehuai’s voice was deep and powerful. She turned to look at Bai Yu beside her, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes.

Bai Yu nodded, his face expressionless, but his eyes revealed a determined light.

He crouched down and began to dispose of the thugs' corpses. His movements were practiced and swift, as if he had experienced this scene countless times before.

Xu Yuehuai felt a surge of warmth as she watched Bai Yu's busy figure. She stepped forward, wanting to help dispose of the body, but Bai Yu gently pushed her away.

"Go and rest, I'll handle these things." Bai Yu's voice was calm and firm, and his eyes revealed an unquestionable meaning.

Xu Yuehuai sighed helplessly. Knowing Bai Yu's temper, she didn't insist any further. She sat down to the side, but her gaze never left Bai Yu.

She always felt that Bai Yu was hiding something.

However, after thinking about it for a long time, she still couldn't figure out what he was hiding...

Time passed slowly, and by the time the last body was buried, the sky had completely darkened.

Xu Yuehuai stood up, stretched, and felt that all the muscles in her body were a little sore.

“We have to leave here,” Xu Yuehuai said to Bai Yu.

"Yes, I'll scout ahead."

Bai Yu nodded, stood up, dusted himself off, and walked into the depths of the forest.

Xu Yuehuai followed behind him, the two of them walking one after the other through the night.

After walking for a while, they found a relatively flat place to stop and rest.

Xu Yuehuai leaned against a large tree, closed her eyes, and tried to relax. However, she could not find peace in her heart.

"You get some sleep, I'll keep watch."

Bai Yu's voice rang in her ears. Xu Yuehuai opened her eyes and saw him standing not far away, cautiously observing his surroundings.

Xu Yuehua nodded. She knew it wasn't time to rest, but she couldn't ignore her physical exhaustion. She closed her eyes, trying to fall asleep.

"Awoo~"

However, just as she was about to fall asleep, a rapid breathing sound suddenly came. Xu Yuehuai opened her eyes abruptly and saw a pack of hungry wolves surrounding them.

"Get up! There are wolves!" Xu Yuehuai shouted, drawing the dagger from his waist.

Bai Yu reacted quickly, drawing his sword and standing in front of Xu Yuehuai. The two stood back to back, facing the ever-growing pack of wolves.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here." Bai Yu's voice was deep and calm, giving Xu Yuehuai a sense of comfort.

Xu Yuehuai took a deep breath and gripped the dagger tightly in her hand. She knew that now they could only rely on each other to fight against these ferocious wolves.

"Awooo! Awooo!"

The wolves launched their attack, howling as they pounced on the two. Bai Yu and Xu Yuehuai worked in perfect harmony, one attacking and the other defending, constantly repelling the wolves' assault.

However, there were simply too many wolves, and they gradually found themselves overwhelmed.

"hiss--!"

Xu Yuehuai's arm was bitten by a wolf, and blood stained her sleeve. She gritted her teeth, endured the pain, and continued to wield her longsword.

"Swish!"

Bai Yu looked at her with heartache, "Hide behind me, that way they can't hurt you."

"No need, let's continue fighting the enemy." Xu Yuehuai wasn't a fragile person; she didn't like hiding behind others.

Bai Yu could only do his best to protect her and prevent her from getting hurt.

"Da da da!"

Just when they were about to give up, the sound of horses' hooves suddenly came from afar.

A group of knights appeared in sight, carrying torches and weapons, and charged towards the wolf pack.

"Awooooo!"

The wolves were terrified by the sudden appearance of the knights and scattered, quickly disappearing into the depths of the forest.

Xu Yuehuai and Bai Yu breathed a sigh of relief and turned around to look at the knights.

"Thank you," Xu Yuehuai said gratefully.

The leading knight nodded, his gaze sweeping over the two men before he said, "It's not safe for you here. You should come back to the city with us."

Xu Yuehuai and Bai Yu exchanged a glance, both of them looking wary.

However, they nodded. Because they knew that the most important thing now was to find a safe place to recuperate.

So, under the cover of night, they followed the knights away from the mountains and headed towards the unknown future.

The night was as dark as ink, and the knights' figures appeared and disappeared along the forest path, seemingly blending into the darkness. The flames of torches danced among the treetops, adding a touch of mysterious and warm light to the silent forest.

Xu Yuehuai and Bai Yu followed closely behind, their hearts filled with a mixture of wariness and curiosity. They didn't know the identities or purposes of these knights, but their intuition told them that these people did not seem to be benevolent.

However, in this unfamiliar place, they had no choice but to follow the knights for the time being.

After all, finding a safe place to recuperate is their top priority right now.
