Chapter 1413 The Imposter Revealed

The soldiers began to panic, looking at each other, unsure who the imposter was.

They could only keep retreating, trying to distance themselves from those around them.

The air was thick with tension and fear; everyone was afraid of becoming the next target.

Just then, Qi Guze moved. He moved like lightning, drawing his sword and thrusting it at a soldier.

The soldier reacted extremely quickly, immediately hiding to the side and grabbing a nearby soldier as a hostage. His movements were fluid and swift, clearly the result of careful training.

"I didn't expect you to find out after all," the fake soldier said with a sneer. "Let me go, or this man will die." The sword in his hand was pressed tightly against the neck of the kidnapped soldier, the threat obvious.

Qi Guze remained unmoved. He coldly looked at the fake soldier and said, "You are not leaving today no matter what. You have killed so many of my guards, do you think I will let you go?"

The next moment, all the soldiers and guards immediately pointed their swords at the fake soldiers and the kidnapped soldiers, and the situation was about to break out.

Seeing this, a flicker of panic crossed the fake soldier's eyes. He clearly hadn't expected Qi Guze to be so resolute, and his bargaining chip seemed to have become insignificant at that moment. He glared fiercely at Qi Guze, then suddenly plunged his sword into the neck of the kidnapped soldier. Blood gushed out instantly, staining the surrounding ground red.

The kidnapped soldier stared wide-eyed, his neck twisting with difficulty as he looked at Qi Guze, his prince, his master.

The soldier's throat felt like it was blocked, and every word he uttered was extremely painful: "Your Highness... don't worry about me... avenge our brothers..." Although his voice was broken and intermittent, it revealed a firmness and loyalty.

The fake soldier sneered and whispered in the real soldier's ear, "Want to die? Not so easy." His voice was cold and cruel, like a mockery from hell.

Suddenly, a gentle breeze swept by, carrying a faint, almost imperceptible, strange aura. The Ghost Doctor and his companions appeared silently like ghosts, their arrival going unnoticed by anyone except Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze, who stood on the outermost circle.

A glint of light flashed in Xu Yuehuai's eyes, and she exchanged a meaningful glance with the Ghost Doctor.

The Ghost Doctor nodded slightly, indicating that everything was under control.

Xu Yuehuai took a deep breath, turned to the fake soldier, and said in a calm but powerful voice: "If you want to leave, we will let you go."

Upon hearing this, the kidnapped soldier's eyes flashed with astonishment and resentment: "Your Highness! Don't let the tiger return to the mountain!"

Xu Yuehuai shook her head gently, her eyes revealing complex emotions: "But we can't abandon you to your life."

After saying that, Xu Yuehuai waved his hand, and the guards and soldiers surrounding the fake soldier slowly retreated like a tide, making way for a path leading out of the courtyard.

A sly glint flashed in the fake soldier's eyes, but he said nothing more and turned to leave.

"ah--!"

However, just as he scaled the wall, a piercing scream broke the silence of the night.

Xu Yuehuai, Qi Guze, and the others immediately climbed over the wall and were greeted by the scene where the Ghost Doctor and his men had firmly captured the fake soldiers.

The kidnapped soldier has been rescued and is leaning weakly to one side.

Qi Guze coldly looked at the fake soldier, "I told you, you won't escape today."

Hahahaha!

The fake soldier suddenly threw his head back and laughed, the laughter sharp and eerie. Then, his body began to slowly shrivel up, his skin gradually lost its luster, and finally turned into a human skin that fell to the ground.

A dark shadow emerged from under the body, like an escaped ghost, and quickly darted to the side.

"Oh no! He's trying to escape!"

Xu Yuehuai swiftly drew her sword to stab the dark figure, but the sword tip seemed to strike thin air, having no effect whatsoever.

Seeing this, the Ghost Doctor quickly chanted a spell, trying to control the dark figure. However, the figure was too fast and disappeared into the night in the blink of an eye.

Xu Yuehuai sheathed her sword, her brows furrowed with regret and anger: "They really are a foreign race. It's just a pity about those few who were killed."

Qi Guze walked over to the rescued soldier and knelt down to check his injuries.

Although the soldiers were weak, their spirits were still relatively good.

He grasped Qi Guze's hand tightly and said gratefully, "Your Highness, Your Highness... thank you..."

Qi Guze gently patted the back of his hand, a hint of tenderness flashing in his eyes: "Rest well, leave the rest to us."

As night deepened, the courtyard outside Tianxiang Tower returned to tranquility. However, this sudden turn of events left a deep mark on everyone's heart.

There are also shadowy figures of alien races, kidnapped soldiers, escaped shadows... all of these await their unraveling.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze understood that this struggle against the alien race would become increasingly severe and involve more and more people.

Qi Guze turned to Xu Yuehuai and said, "We need to find the shadowy figure as soon as possible."

Xu Yuehua nodded in agreement: "I understand. We absolutely cannot lose this battle."

Their eyes met in the air, as if an invisible force was conveying their beliefs and determination.

The night was as dark as ink. Outside Tianxiang Tower, soldiers and guards busily moved through the streets and alleys, sealing off every corner within a hundred miles.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze stood in front of the building, waiting for the final investigation results.

"Are you sure you've searched everything thoroughly?" Xu Yuehuai asked.

"Your Highness, every inch of land has been thoroughly searched, and no unusual shadows have been found," a soldier replied respectfully, not daring to slacken his efforts in the slightest.

Xu Yuehuai turned to look at Tianxiang Tower behind her. The tower was brightly lit, yet it exuded an eerie atmosphere. She knew that the Ghost Doctor was currently in a secret room casting spells from the "Record of Heavenly Secrets," trying to find the escaped shadowy figure.

Time ticked by, and Qi Guze suddenly tugged at Xu Yuehuai's sleeve and whispered, "Look at the Ghost Doctor's expression, something seems off."

Upon hearing this, Xu Yuehuai looked over and saw the Ghost Doctor emerge from the secret chamber, his face so pale it was almost transparent, his eyes flashing with complex emotions. His steps were unsteady, as if he might collapse at any moment.

"How is it?" Xu Yuehuai stepped forward and asked eagerly.

The Ghost Doctor shook his head slightly, his voice hoarse: "There is no trace of him."

Xu Yuehuai's gaze swept back and forth across the Ghost Doctor's face. She did notice something unusual about the Ghost Doctor, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was.

"Then take your time looking," Qi Guze suddenly interjected, his tone carrying a subtle, unspoken meaning. He pulled Xu Yuehuai around and left, returning to their room.

As soon as she entered, Xu Yuehuai couldn't wait to ask, "What's wrong? You seem a little off."
