Chapter 1236 A Trap

Qi Guze whispered to Xu Yuehuai, "Ayue, be careful." His voice was deep but full of strength.

Xu Yuehua nodded, a resolute glint in her eyes. The two stood side by side, facing this sudden crisis.

"Who are you? Why are you blocking our way?" Qi Guze asked in a deep voice, which echoed in the night sky.

However, the men in black did not answer; they simply stared coldly at the two men as if they were lambs to the slaughter. This silence intensified the tension, as if the air itself had frozen.

"kill!"

Suddenly, a man in black let out a sharp whistle, and then slashed at the two men with his sword.

Qi Guze moved swiftly, his longsword clashing with the black-clad man's sword like a dragon emerging from the sea. A deafening clang of metal against metal echoed through the night sky, causing the leaves of the surrounding trees to fall in a rustling sound.

Xu Yuehuai was not idle either. She moved nimbly, like a swallow darting through a dense forest. The sword in her hand transformed into streaks of cold light, constantly attacking the man in black.

The two worked in perfect harmony; with flashes of sword light, the men in black fell one after another.

However, the men in black were numerous, and they surged forward like a tide, wave after wave assaulting the two men's defenses.

Every encounter was thrilling, but the two managed to escape danger time and time again thanks to their unwavering beliefs and exceptional martial arts skills.

Their movements became increasingly skillful, and their swordsmanship increasingly sharp, as if each swing of their swords could annihilate the enemy in the darkness without a trace.

After a fierce struggle, the two finally defeated all the men in black. However, they did not relax at all, because they knew this might only be the beginning.

After much bloodshed, they finally arrived at a dilapidated wooden hut and pushed open the door. The interior was a mess, clearly the result of a fierce fight. In a corner of the hut, they discovered several corpses.

After carefully examining the bodies, Xu Yuehuai said in a trembling voice, "These people... are not Zixin." Her eyes were filled with disappointment and worry.

Qi Guze clenched his fists, a flash of anger in his eyes: "It seems Zixin has been kidnapped by another group of people."

Xu Yuehuai looked at Qi Guze with worry in her eyes: "What should we do?"

After pondering for a moment, Qi Guze said, "We must find her. There must be some clues left around here. As long as we find these clues, we will definitely be able to find Zixin."

The two looked at each other, their eyes filled with fighting spirit.

As long as they don't give up, they will definitely be able to find Qi Zixin's whereabouts!

The night was as dark as ink. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze stood in front of the wooden house, their eyes burning as they scanned every inch of the surrounding land, searching for any possible clues.

“Something seems off here.” Xu Yuehuai squatted down, her fingertips lightly tracing the soil on the ground, her brows furrowed.

Qi Guze walked over upon hearing the sound, his gaze equally sharp: "What makes you so sure?"

“The soil has been disturbed.” Xu Yuehuai looked up, her eyes gleaming with wisdom. “We need to be careful.”

The two exchanged a glance, nodded, and continued on their way. However, the dark road was far from peaceful; a chilling atmosphere crept in.

"Whoosh—" A cold arrow pierced the night sky, heading straight for Xu Yuehuai. He dodged the fatal blow with a swift movement, and swung his sword in return.

"Watch out!" Qi Guze shouted, his longsword transforming into a streak of silver light as he knocked down another arrow aimed at him.

The two stood back to back, facing assassins surging in from all directions. Every exchange was thrilling, but their eyes never wavered in their resolve.

"Aze, have you found any clues about Zixin?" Xu Yuehuai asked during a break from the intense fighting.

"Not yet, but I won't give up." Qi Guze swung his sword and severed the arm of an assassin, his voice firm.

In the darkness, their figures flickered in the firelight, their movements swift and powerful, each sword swing imbued with resolve and conviction. The assassins before them were like paper, felled time and again.

However, the assassins swarmed in like a never-ending tide. Although Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze were highly skilled in martial arts, the prolonged battle left them exhausted.

"We can't linger here any longer; we must find Zixin as soon as possible," Xu Yuehuai said, panting heavily.

Qi Guze nodded, took a deep breath, and a resolute glint flashed in his eyes: "Let's go!"

The two fought side by side once more, carving a bloody path before disappearing into the vast night. Their figures receded into the distance, but their unwavering belief burned like a blazing flame, illuminating their way forward.

At the edge of the cliff, the silvery moonlight shone on Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze, making their resolute figures even clearer.

They stood side by side, their eyes blazing, staring directly at the group of men in black ahead.

The group of men in black formed a circle, with a blindfolded girl named Qi Zixin tied up in the middle. Her body trembled slightly, as if expressing the fear in her heart.

Xu Yuehuai frowned, his voice cold and authoritative: "I warn you, if you dare to harm a single hair on my daughter's head, I, Xu Yuehuai, will make you pay for your crimes in blood!"

Her voice echoed in the night sky, drowning out all other sounds around her.

Qi Guze stood beside Xu Yuehuai, his eyes equally sharp, exuding a kingly aura.

He nodded slightly, his voice low and cold: "My queen's words are my will. If you dare to touch her in the slightest, I will make you wish you were dead!"

The men in black seemed unfazed by their threats, whispering amongst themselves as if plotting something.

Suddenly, a man in black shoved Qi Zixin hard, causing her to stagger back a few steps, her body gradually approaching the edge of the cliff.

"No!" Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze exclaimed in unison, but it was too late.

Qi Zixin's body traced a poignant arc in the moonlight before disappearing into the abyss.

"Zixin!" Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze rushed forward at the same time, trying to grab something, but only managed to grab onto the vines on the edge of the cliff.

However, the vines could not support the weight of the two people and began to creak and break.

"Ah Yue, hold on tight to me!" Qi Guze shouted loudly.

Xu Yuehuai hugged Qi Guze tightly around the waist, and the two of them fell into the abyss together.

As they fell, Xu Yuehuai kept her eyes fixed on Qi Zixin below. "Zixin, don't be afraid, Mommy will come to save you soon."

Qi Guze used all his strength to hold Xu Yuehuai in his arms, trying to shield her from the impending impact with his own body.

He kept thrusting his sword into the cliff face to slow their fall. But the cliff was incredibly deep, thousands of meters deep, with almost no end in sight.

In the last few dozen meters, Qi Guze's sword actually broke!
