Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze immediately looked around warily, but couldn't find the source of the sound. They knew that the owner of the voice was probably hiding in the shadows, watching their every move.
"Stop hiding, come out!" Xu Yuehuai shouted, his voice revealing an unquestionable authority.
However, all around was silent, and there was no response. The voice seemed to be just a ghost, appearing and disappearing without a trace.
Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze exchanged a glance, a hint of seriousness flashing in their eyes. They knew that this mastermind was an extremely dangerous person, and they had to find out his true identity as soon as possible.
"No matter who it is, we will find him and bring him to justice!" Xu Yuehuai said firmly. Although her voice was gentle, it carried an undeniable authority.
Qi Guze nodded in agreement. For the sake of justice and peace, they would fight a desperate battle against the enemies lurking in the shadows.
...
Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze stood side by side at the edge of the desolate valley, their eyes burning with determination as they stared intently at the pitch-black cave ahead. Behind them, the guards stood in neat rows, their faces filled with resolve and anticipation.
"Aze, what do you think is hidden in that cave?" Xu Yuehuai turned her head and asked in a low voice, her eyes flashing with a cold light, as if they could pierce through all darkness.
Qi Guze took a deep breath, feeling the chilling aura in the air, and slowly said, "No matter what demons or monsters are hiding inside, we will wipe them all out today to prevent future troubles." His voice was firm and powerful, full of unquestionable determination.
Having said that, he gripped his longsword tightly and took the lead towards the cave. The guards followed closely behind, their steps firm and powerful, like a group of fearless warriors forging ahead.
Just as they were about to step into the cave, a sudden gust of wind swept in, accompanied by a sharp howl, as if countless evil spirits were roaring. The guards were blown about by the sudden gale, almost unable to stand.
"Everyone be careful!" Xu Yuehua shouted, simultaneously slashing her sword to deflect a wind blade. The wind blade traced a dazzling trajectory in the air before vanishing without a trace. Her movements were swift and elegant, like a fairy gracefully dancing.
Qi Guze also brandished his longsword, fighting alongside Xu Yuehuai. Their swordsmanship was sharp and precise, each swing cleaving through a blade of wind. Under their guidance, the guards gradually regained their composure and began to wield their weapons to fend off the fierce wind.
After a fierce struggle, the gale finally subsided. The guards, panting heavily, helped each other to their feet. Their faces showed relief at surviving a close call, as if they had just gone through a life-or-death struggle.
“There’s definitely something strange about this place.” Xu Yuehua frowned, looking around. She discovered that the strange rocks in the valley seemed to be arranged according to a certain pattern, forming a complex array. These strange rocks had peculiar shapes, some resembling tigers and others dragons, as if telling an ancient story.
"It seems we've encountered a maze," Qi Guze said in a deep voice. "We must find a way to break it, otherwise it will be difficult for us to continue." His eyes revealed a calmness and wisdom, as if he were thinking about how to solve the maze.
Just then, a guard skilled in formations stepped forward. He carefully observed the strange rocks around him for a while, then said, "I'll try to see if I can break this maze."
Having said that, he began to move among the strange rocks, sometimes crouching down to examine them, sometimes gesturing with his hands. He moved cautiously, afraid of triggering the mechanisms of the formation. After much effort, he finally found the key to breaking the formation.
"Follow me, everyone!" he shouted, leading the crowd in one direction.
As they walked, the surrounding scenery began to change. The once rugged valley gradually became flat, and the vegetation began to grow lush. It was as if they had traveled through a time tunnel and arrived in a completely new world.
However, just when they thought they could breathe a sigh of relief, a tremendous roar of water suddenly came from ahead. They looked up and saw a wide river not far ahead, its waters surging and turbulent with astonishing force. The river seemed to have fallen from the sky, rushing towards the distance with boundless power.
"It seems we're about to face new challenges," Xu Yuehuai said calmly, a defiant glint in her eyes. She knew that every challenge was a test of their will and ability.
Qi Guze nodded, tightening his grip on his longsword, ready for battle. His gaze was firm and profound, as if it could see through everything. The guards also drew their weapons, warily scanning their surroundings. They knew the battle to come would be even more difficult.
They cautiously approached the river, only to discover that something enormous seemed to be lurking in its waters. The creature would surface and then dive back down, each time creating a massive wave. These waves seemed to possess a destructive power, sending chills down their spines.
"What is that?" one of the guards asked in surprise. His voice was tinged with fear, as if he were awed by the enormous creature.
Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze frowned as well; they had never seen such a gigantic creature. Its body was enormous, like a moving mountain. Its skin was an eerie color, seemingly composed of countless scales. Its eyes were blood-red, as if capable of devouring everything.
"Whatever it is, everyone remember to be careful," Qi Guze said in a deep voice. "Prepare your weapons and be ready to fight at any time!" His voice exuded an unquestionable authority, which reassured everyone.
"Whoosh—!"
Just then, the creature suddenly leaped out of the water and charged straight at them. It was a gigantic water monster, covered in scales, with blood-red eyes and sharp fangs. Its roar was deafening, as if it would devour the entire world.
"Watch out!" Xu Yuehua shouted, simultaneously slashing her sword at the water monster. Her swordsmanship was sharp and swift, like a bolt of lightning slicing through the sky. However, the water monster was thick-skinned and tough, and her attacks seemed to have little effect on it.
Qi Guze followed closely behind, fighting alongside Xu Yuehuai. Their swordsmanship was perfectly coordinated, like an invincible pair of swordsmen. However, the water monster possessed immense strength, and their attacks could only cause it brief pain.
The guards also joined the battle, wielding their weapons and engaging in fierce combat with the water monster. However, the monster seemed to possess boundless strength, and their attacks were merely tickles to it.
The battle raged on for a long time, with neither side gaining the upper hand. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze were exhausted and panting, and the guards were also covered in wounds. However, they did not give up and continued to fight the water monster.
