Chapter 1123 Dependent on Each Other for Survival

Seeing this, Bai Yu roared angrily, "Xu Yuehuai, wake up! He has been using you all along, and you have never had a place in his heart! Only I am the one who truly cares for you!" His voice echoed in the night sky, filled with endless sorrow.

Xu Yuehuai felt as if she had been struck by a heavy hammer. Looking at Qi Guze's indifferent back, her beliefs shattered like broken glass, scattered all over the ground.

She once thought they were the most important people in each other's lives, but now everything has become so unfamiliar and cruel.

Bai Yu didn't say much. He quickly took out some ointment from his pocket and gently applied it to Xu Yuehuai's wound.

Then, he picked her up and walked into the night.

His voice was cold and firm: "Kill them all, leave no one alive!"

The royal guards immediately sprang into action and engaged in a fierce battle with the men in black.

Amidst the flashing swords, Xu Yuehuai saw Qi Guze's indifferent gaze. He stood there, as if none of this concerned him.

Her heart sank completely. She finally realized that Qi Guze might have been using her all along and had never been sincere to her.

"Keep them both here; they must not be let go," Qi Guze said coldly.

"Yes, sir!" Suddenly, many men in black appeared and immediately began fighting with the royal guards.

Seeing that the men in black were so respectful to Qi Guze, Xu Yuehuai's doubts deepened.

She recalled the past, and Qi Guze's seemingly affectionate gaze now seemed to her to be full of hypocrisy and deception.

She couldn't help but wonder if everything Qi Guze had done before was just an act.

Could it be that he was the one who ordered him to be tortured?

Her mind was in turmoil; she couldn't believe that the man she had loved for so many years and who had raised her children with her would treat her like this. She tried to sort out her thoughts, but her mind remained a jumbled mess.

The sound of fierce fighting broke the tranquility of the night. Xu Yuehuai looked up and saw Bai Yu's men and Qi Guze's subordinates fighting fiercely.

To protect her, Bai Yu rushed out without hesitation, but was soon seriously injured.

Xu Yuehuai felt as if her heart was being torn apart. She wanted to rush out to help, but Bai Yu grabbed her arm.

"Don't be impulsive, Yuehuai. You stay here, I'll deal with them." After saying that, Bai Yu dragged his injured body and charged towards the enemy.

Xu Yuehuai watched helplessly as Bai Yu disappeared into the night, her heart filled with worry and helplessness. She could only silently pray that Bai Yu would return safely.

As night deepened, Xu Yuehuai sat alone on a rock, her heart filled with doubt and confusion.

She recalled every moment she shared with Qi Guze, and all that sweetness and happiness seemed so ironic and cruel now.

After an unknown amount of time, hurried footsteps approached from afar. Xu Yuehuai looked up and saw Bai Yu returning, covered in blood.

His face was pale, but his eyes gleamed with a sharp light.

"Yuehuai, let's go quickly!" He took Xu Yuehuai's hand and walked into the night.

Xu Yuehuai held Bai Yu's hand tightly, her heart filled with gratitude and trust. She knew that no matter how difficult the road ahead, Bai Yu would not deceive her now.

The man who once broke her heart has remained forever in her memory, an indelible scar.

Under the moonlight, Bai Yu resembled a wounded night hawk, covered in scars. His face was as pale as winter snowflakes, and each scar seemed to tell the story of the hardships and tribulations he had endured.

"Pfft—!" Bai Yu suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood.

A wave of indescribable sorrow welled up in Xu Yuehuai's heart, and she quickly supported Bai Yu's swaying body with both hands.

"Bai Yu, what happened to you? Are you so badly injured?" Xu Yuehuai's voice trembled slightly, her eyes filled with worry and concern.

Bai Yu forced a smile, gently shook her head, and said in a weak but firm voice, "It's alright, Yue Huai. It's just some superficial injuries, nothing serious. Don't worry about me, take care of yourself first."

A warm feeling welled up in Xu Yuehuai's heart. She knew that Bai Yu was enduring her pain to comfort her.

She held Bai Yu's hand tightly, her eyes shining with gratitude: "Bai Yu, thank you for always protecting me. No matter what happens, I will fight alongside you until we get out of this predicament together."

Bai Yu nodded, a hint of relief flashing in his eyes. He struggled to his feet, and although he was still weak, he firmly took Xu Yuehuai's hand and walked towards the light in the distance.

In the darkness, the two figures leaned on each other, moving forward with difficulty and determination.

After a long and arduous journey, they finally arrived at a secluded cabin.

Bai Yu helped Xu Yuehuai inside, and then began to get busy. He found some herbs, carefully washed and ground them, and started to brew a medicinal soup for Xu Yuehuai.

Xu Yuehuai watched Bai Yu's busy figure, tears welling up in her eyes. She knew that in this unfamiliar place, Bai Yu was her only support.

After the medicine was brewed, Bai Yu carefully placed it in front of Xu Yuehuai and said gently, "Yuehuai, drink the medicine; it will be good for your injuries."

Xu Yuehua nodded, took the bowl of medicine, and drank it all in one gulp. Although the medicine was bitter and hard to swallow, her heart was filled with sweetness and warmth, because it was Bai Yu's care and protection for her.

After taking the medicine, Xu Yuehuai felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her. She leaned against the bed and closed her eyes.

Seeing this, Bai Yu gently covered her with a blanket and whispered, "Yue Huai, you should rest well. I will stay here to protect you."

Xu Yuehuai did not answer; she had already fallen into a deep sleep.

Bai Yu sat by the bed, quietly watching over Xu Yuehuai. His gaze was gentle yet firm, as if saying, "No matter what happens, I will protect you until dawn."

As night deepened, only a faint light flickered inside the cabin, and Bai Yu's figure appeared even more resolute and courageous in the lamplight.

As the first rays of morning sunlight streamed through the window into the cabin, Xu Yuehuai slowly opened her eyes.

The sunlight shone on her, warm and comforting. She turned her head and saw Bai Yu leaning against the table, her face showing a tired but determined expression.

He was still holding a medicine jar in his hand, clearly indicating that he hadn't slept all night.

“Bai Yu…” Xu Yuehuai called his name softly, her eyes filled with gratitude and love.

Bai Yu looked up and saw that Xu Yuehuai had woken up, and a relieved smile appeared on his face.

"You're awake, Yuehuai." Bai Yu's voice was a little hoarse, but full of tenderness and care. "How are you feeling? Does it still hurt?"

Xu Yuehuai shook her head and said with a smile, "I'm much better now, thank you, Bai Yu. Didn't you sleep all night? Go and get some rest."
