Although Xu Yuehuai was all alone in this otherworldly space, her eyes were full of determination.
An endless swarm of black monsters roared, attempting to devour all light.
The powerful force came from afar, like a trickle of water, piercing through the void and continuously flowing into Xu Yuehuai's body.
"It really is you!" Xu Yuehuai's voice trembled.
As Qi Guze's power gradually flowed into her, the shocking wounds on her body began to heal slowly. The black, evil aura was dispelled like morning mist, and the blood gradually congealed, leaving behind hideous but no longer bleeding marks.
"Hmph, these demons won't stop me!" Xu Yuehuai's lips curled into a cold smile, the dagger in his hand gleaming with dazzling light under the power it possessed, as if it could cut through all the darkness in the world.
With a sudden swing, the dagger sliced through the air with a whooshing sound, striking the nearest black monster precisely in its vital spot.
The monster screamed and retreated, but its massive body had nowhere to hide. It was once again injured by Xu Yuehuai's precise attack and finally vanished.
"This power has made me much stronger. I can finally break through their defenses." Xu Yuehuai thought to herself, while remaining vigilant and preparing for the next attack.
With a rumble, the ground suddenly surged, and countless vines grew wildly as if they were alive, instantly wrapping Xu Yuehuai up tightly and lifting him high into the air.
"No!" Xu Yuehuai struggled desperately, but found that these vines were unusually tough, as if they were alive, binding her tightly. Some of the vines even had sharp tips that pierced her skin and reached her bone marrow, bringing unbearable pain.
"Aze, you and the child still need me. I can't be trapped here!" She gritted her teeth, silently repeating her lover's name, trying to draw more strength from this emotion.
She tried to cut the vines that were entwining her with the dagger, but unexpectedly, the vines seemed to resist the force of the dagger to some extent. The dagger only left shallow marks when it slashed, and failed to cut them off.
"You dare to try to break free from my restraints!" A deep and eerie voice echoed in the space. As the voice fell, the vines seemed to tighten their grip even more. Xu Yuehuai's face showed a look of pain, but she still did not give up resisting.

As the deep, eerie sound dissipated into the air, the vines seemed to gain self-awareness. With an almost cruel elegance, they slowly dragged Xu Yuehuai to the edge of a dark abyss.
This is a forgotten corner, surrounded by white bones. Each skeleton seems to be telling a tragic story of the past. The air is filled with the atmosphere of death and despair, which makes people shudder.
Xu Yuehuai was deeply shocked by this scene, but what made her feel even more desperate was that the black monsters that she had temporarily repelled were now surging in like a tidal wave. They let out piercing hisses and leaped onto the vines, pressing down on her layer by layer, as if they wanted to devour her completely.
She tried her best to break free, but the vines bound her like a hard cage, making every movement seem so powerless.
Xu Yuehua roared inwardly, recalling every moment she shared with Qi Guze. Those heartwarming scenes, like gentle lights, ignited a glimmer of hope within her. She tried to transform this love into strength to fight against her current predicament.
However, exhaustion and the vines binding her gradually caused her to lose consciousness. The world became blurred in her eyes and eventually faded into darkness.
After an unknown amount of time, Xu Yuehuai finally regained consciousness. Her vision was blurry, and she slowly looked around. She found herself tied to a large wooden frame, her hands and feet tightly locked by cold iron chains, unable to move.
The torches around them flickered, illuminating familiar yet unfamiliar faces—the Ghost Doctor, Yan Qing, Lu Li, and General Liu. They were all bound, their expressions identical—weary and helpless.
"You're awake too?" The Ghost Doctor's voice came first. Although he was bound, his eyes still gleamed with wisdom. "It seems we've all fallen for that monster's trick."
"How did you all get arrested too?" Xu Yuehuai looked around, trying to find the answer in the scene before her.
"This must be the monster's lair, a place filled with evil and death," Lu Li said in a deep voice, a slight tremor in his voice. "We must break free of our restraints as soon as possible, otherwise..."
"Otherwise what?" Yan Qing interrupted him, her eyes resolute. "Even though we've all been captured, as long as we're all together, we'll definitely be able to escape successfully."
General Liu remained silent, observing his surroundings in search of a possible breakthrough: "These chains contain the power of demons; we may not be able to break them with ordinary external force."
Suddenly, a chilling laugh rang out: "Welcome to my kingdom, distinguished guests! Please enjoy the following hospitality!"
As the voice faded, a figure draped in a black robe slowly stepped into the firelight. Beneath the robe were a pair of eyes gleaming with an eerie green light, coldly watching them.
"It's you!" Xu Yuehua gritted her teeth. She recognized the voice; it was the same deep, eerie voice from before. "What exactly are you plotting?"
The man in black robes sneered and slowly walked up to them: "It's simple. I need your power to help me complete a great ritual. Don't worry, as long as you behave, I might spare your lives."
"Impossible!" Xu Yuehua shouted angrily. She knew this man's sinister intentions and would never give in easily.
The man in black robes didn't seem surprised by her reaction. He simply waved his hand, and the chains binding them began to writhe as if they were alive, intensifying their pain.
"Hmph, you won't listen to reason, so you'll have to suffer the consequences." The man in black robes sneered, and was about to use even more ruthless methods when he saw Xu Yuehuai suddenly close her eyes, her face revealing a strange tranquility.
"What are you waiting for?" The man in black robes asked, puzzled.
However, at that moment, a warm and powerful force surged out from Xu Yuehuai's body, instantly breaking through the iron chains.
She suddenly opened her eyes and roared, "I will never let you succeed!"
Xu Yuehuai's figure shot out like lightning, the dagger drawing a dazzling trajectory in the air, heading straight for the man in black robes.
The black-robed man's cold laughter echoed in the empty cave. He deftly sidestepped Xu Yuehuai's unstoppable attack.
The dagger sliced through the air, leaving only a piercing whistling sound as it embedded itself deeply into the stone wall, sending stone chips flying everywhere.
