Chapter 1271 Crime Leaked

Under interrogation by Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor, he finally confessed to his crimes.

It turns out that he colluded with people from an evil organization in order to obtain a huge fortune, but Chef Wang happened to stumble upon his secret.

He didn't actually want to harm Chef Wang, but Chef Wang wouldn't listen to him, so he had to resort to other methods.

After the interrogation, the government officials expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor. They stated that they would continue to investigate the case and severely punish the murderer.

"These two heroes are truly pillars of our dynasty!" an official exclaimed.

Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor smiled faintly. They knew their mission was complete, but the flame of justice in their hearts would never be extinguished.

They silently left the government office and embarked on yet another journey.

As night falls like still water, they will continue to punish evil and promote good on their journey through the martial world, upholding justice and peace.

Those who have committed heinous crimes will gradually surface in this silent struggle and face the judgment of justice!

The case finally came to a conclusion the moment the innkeeper was caught red-handed with irrefutable evidence.

However, beneath this surface calm, Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor had furrowed brows and some doubts in their hearts, as if there were still many mysteries hidden behind this case.

"Ghost Doctor, do you really think the innkeeper is the mastermind behind this?" Xu Yuehuai stood by the window, gazing at the setting sun in the distance.

The Ghost Doctor stroked his beard, his eyes sharp: "I don't think so. This case is too strange; the innkeeper might just be a scapegoat."

Xu Yuehuai's voice was firm: "We cannot let the real culprit get away with this. For the sake of the stability of the four countries, we must continue our in-depth investigation."

Afterwards, Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor, like two tireless hunting dogs, traveled everywhere, searching for clues. They traversed the entire capital, from the streets and alleys to the mansions of the wealthy, from peddlers to high-ranking officials, leaving their footprints everywhere.

One evening, they arrived at a secluded mountain forest.

This place was once the stronghold of a mysterious cult, and legend has it that it is full of eeriness and danger.

However, Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor were not afraid at all. They moved forward together, determined to find that glimmer of light in the darkness.

"hiss--!"

Suddenly, a faint groan broke the silence.

Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor immediately became alert. They followed the sound and saw a figure lying in the corner.

The man was terrified when he saw them and struggled to escape, but where could he run to in the mountains?

Xu Yuehuai took a step forward and quickly subdued the man.

The Ghost Doctor crouched down and carefully examined the stranger.

He looked like an ordinary young man, but there was an unusual light in his eyes.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" Xu Yuehuai's voice was cold and stern.

The man answered in a trembling voice, "I...I'm waiting for news here."

A hint of excitement flashed in the eyes of both Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor; they had finally found a breakthrough!

After some questioning, they learned where the mastermind was hiding—a manor located deep in the mountains.

The place was heavily guarded, but Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor did not rush forward. They immediately gathered their men and headed to the manor to begin their operation.

General Lin, one of Xu Yuehuai's most capable assistants, upon learning the news, did not hesitate to join the operation: "Working with the Princess is indeed thrilling and exciting! Count us in this time too!"

The night at the manor was like a deep blue silk, quietly spread across the sky. Moonlight poured down like flowing water, gilding the ancient manor with a silvery glow. In this hazy moonlight, the manor seemed draped in a light veil, exuding a mysterious and eerie tranquility.

Xu Yuehuai stood outside the manor, her gaze piercing through the night, staring directly at the tranquil manor in front of her.

The ghost doctor beside her remained calm and composed, as if everything in the night had nothing to do with him.

Behind them was a group of well-trained elite soldiers.

"Tonight, we will uncover the secrets behind this manor." Xu Yuehuai's voice was like a sharp sword, pointing straight to the heart of the manor.

The Ghost Doctor nodded slightly, and the soldiers around him instantly straightened up, all ready for battle.

The group approached the manor wall silently. The nimble soldiers swiftly scaled the wall, followed closely by Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor. Their movements were as light as the wind, like ghosts in the night, silently traversing every corner of the manor.

The manor was completely silent, broken only by the occasional chirping of insects and the rustling of leaves.

Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor walked along the winding path, making every step very quiet to avoid attracting the attention of the guards in the manor.

Soon, they arrived at the center of the manor, in front of a magnificent mansion.

The mansion's gates were tightly closed, adorned with intricate carvings that gave it an air of mystery and majesty.

Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor dealt with the guards around them before walking to the gate and suddenly pushing it open.

"Bang!"

The door had just been pushed open when it triggered a mechanism.

"Oh no! It's an enemy attack!"

A series of screams followed immediately. The guards inside the manor were clearly caught off guard by the unexpected intrusion and were thrown into chaos. Armed with their weapons, they rushed frantically toward the gate, trying to stop the uninvited guests.

"Quick! Grab them!" shouted a guard who appeared to be the leader.

However, Xu Yuehuai and the Ghost Doctor were not disrupted. They remained in their positions as planned, gripping their weapons tightly, ready to fight the people in front of them.

Swords flashed and fists flew; every clash was extremely dangerous.

Xu Yuehuai held a long sword, her movements agile, each swing of the sword carrying the force of thunder.

The Ghost Doctor, with his extraordinary skills, moved freely through the crowd. Every move he made was precise and ruthless, leaving the guards overwhelmed.

"How dare you break into our manor at night!" the lead guard roared, his eyes filled with anger and incomprehension.

However, Xu Yuehuai did not answer his question. Instead, she brandished her long sword and with one swing, repelled a guard who rushed up to her.

She said in a deep voice, "We are here to find the mastermind and rescue the hostages."

"Mastermind? What are you talking about? There is no mastermind in our manor!" The lead guard's voice already revealed a hint of panic.

The Ghost Doctor sneered, "We've already investigated everything; it's not up to you now."

As he spoke, he flashed behind another guard and knocked him unconscious with a single palm strike.
