Chapter 811 The Struggle Never Ceases

Bei Ye looked up at her and said with a wry smile, "Sister Yue, I really didn't know that the token was fake. I didn't expect it to be fake when I got it."

Xu Yuehuai was silent for a moment, then said, "Perhaps someone took the wrong one, or perhaps it was switched."

Bei Ye didn't speak, but just looked at her with a hint of doubt in his eyes.

Xu Yuehuai's heart skipped a beat. She knew Bei Ye wasn't a fool; he definitely knew the token was fake. But she couldn't ask too many questions, after all, this was his territory!

If she wants to leave, she will need his help!

So she said, "Bei Ye, you should rest and recuperate here. I'll be going now."

With that, she turned to leave.

Just then, Bei Ye suddenly called out to her, "Sister Yue, I don't have anyone I trust around me right now. Could you stay here for a few more days?"

Xu Yuehuai stopped and looked back at him, saying, "I have a lot of things to take care of, so I can't stay here any longer."

A hint of disappointment flashed in Bei Ye's eyes. He said, "Sister Yue, you're the only family I have left. Can you help me?"

Xu Yuehuai remained silent for a moment. She knew that Bei Ye needed her help right now, but she also had her own things to deal with.

"Bei Ye, I really want to help you, but I really can't stay here any longer." Xu Yuehuai looked at him with a hint of apology in her eyes.

Bei Ye didn't speak, but just silently looked at her. His eyes held a hint of loss and helplessness, as if telling Xu Yuehuai that his situation was dangerous.

Xu Yuehuai's heart stirred; she knew she couldn't leave like this. After thinking for a moment, she said, "How about this, I'll come see you again tomorrow to see how your recovery is going."

Bei Ye nodded, a grateful smile on his face. He knew he couldn't force Xu Yuehuai to stay, but he also knew that Xu Yuehuai was a kind person and wouldn't just abandon him like that.

Xu Yuehuai left Bei Ye's palace, her heart heavy. She knew her time was running out; she had to find out the truth as soon as possible and leave this unfamiliar country.

However, she didn't forget Bei Ye's situation. She decided to investigate the fake pass first to see if she could find any clues.

Guided by the eunuchs and palace maids, Xu Yuehuai arrived at the place where the travel tokens were kept. She carefully examined each token and discovered that only hers was fake.

This puzzled her greatly, as the pass was an important token in the royal palace and was usually kept by a designated person.

How could anyone so easily obtain a fake token? Xu Yuehuai was filled with doubts, and she decided to ask the craftsmen who made the tokens.

If they knew the token was fake, then they might be able to find out who made it. After some inquiries, Xu Yuehuai found the craftsman who made the token.

They told Xu Yuehuai that the token was made by a guard in the palace, who was also Wu Hanqing's confidant.

Xu Yuehuai was startled; she knew this was no coincidence. She decided to find the guard and get to the bottom of it.

In a corner of the palace, Xu Yuehuai found the guard. He was busy making various items, seemingly unaware of Xu Yuehuai's arrival.

Xu Yuehuai stepped forward and asked coldly, "Where is the guard who made the pass token?"

The guard raised his head, glanced at Xu Yuehuai, and said, "That's me."

Xu Yuehuai was stunned; she hadn't expected to find the suspect so easily. She took a deep breath and said, "Can you tell me what happened to my pass token?"

The guard looked at her, a flicker of panic in his eyes. He was silent for a moment, then said, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Xu Yuehuai's heart sank. She knew this guard definitely knew something. So she said, "Don't hide it anymore, I already know. You made the token, and you tipped off Wu Hanqing, didn't you?"

The guard's expression changed, and he suddenly stood up, a fierce glint flashing in his eyes.

He raised the iron hammer in his hand and swung it down at Xu Yuehuai. Xu Yuehuai didn't expect him to attack suddenly, but fortunately, she reacted quickly and dodged the hammer's attack.

She then kicked the guard in the groin, knocking him to the ground.

The guard cried out in pain, knowing he was no match for Xu Yuehuai, and scrambled to his feet to escape.

However, how could Xu Yuehuai let him off so easily? She immediately chased after him and pinned him to the ground.

"Speak! Who ordered you to do this?" Xu Yuehuai stared at him intently, her eyes filled with rage.

The guards were intimidated by her imposing manner and, feeling guilty, quickly confessed.

It turned out he was Wu Hanqing's subordinate, responsible for making tokens and relaying messages. Wu Hanqing wanted to prevent Xu Yuehuai from leaving the palace so he could use her later. The fake token was also specially ordered by Wu Hanqing.

Xu Yuehuai's anger burned fiercely; she hadn't expected to be outmaneuvered by Wu Hanqing. She coldly looked at the guard on the ground and said, "Go back and tell Wu Hanqing that he brought this all on himself."

"No matter what he does, I will never let him take advantage of me!"

"Make him give up any other unnecessary thoughts, save his life, and get him out of the palace as soon as possible!"

Upon hearing this, the guard's expression changed; he knew Xu Yuehuai was not someone to be trifled with. He scrambled away from the palace, fearing that Xu Yuehuai might change his mind and chase after him.

Xu Yuehuai's anger gradually subsided. She knew that the most important thing now was to find the child from Wuling Kingdom.

She must leave the Kingdom of Dark Moon as soon as possible and return to Qi Guze's side!

She walked out of the palace, her mind made up. She was going to find Wu Hanqing and confront him directly about why he had done this.

After searching the entire palace, Xu Yuehuai finally found Wu Hanqing in a side hall. He was sitting at a table, deep in thought. Xu Yuehuai walked up to him and coldly asked, "Wu Hanqing, why did you do this?"

Wu Hanqing raised his head, glanced at her, and said nothing.

Xu Yuehuai's heart sank; she knew Wu Hanqing was definitely hiding something. So she said, "Stop playing dumb. I already know. You had the guards make fake travel permits, and you sent people to assassinate Bei Ye, didn't you?"

Wu Hanqing was silent for a moment, then sighed and said, "A-Yue, I know I've wronged you, but I really have no other choice."

Xu Yuehuai was stunned; she hadn't expected Wu Hanqing to say that.

She said sternly, "What do you mean by this? You are no longer the king of Mingyue Kingdom. Wu Hanbai and I went to great lengths to get Bei Ye to let you go. Are you trying to commit suicide?"
