Chapter 35 The Passionate Magician Sisters Ethan Wants to Escape...

Chapter 35 The Passionate Magician Sisters Ethan Wants to Escape...

Ethan wanted to escape.

He thought he was prepared. After the last gathering of new magicians, he thought he was mentally prepared and that he wouldn't run away from a gathering of several people. But he was too early to be prepared.

Because—this wasn't just a gathering of a few people! It was dozens of people! That's terrifying—

Ethan almost escaped. He had already opened a portal and was falling down, but Lily and Bertha were too quick and managed to pull him out.

Ethan remained expressionless, pursing his lips. Bertha placed one hand on his shoulder, seemingly intentionally or unintentionally, pressing him down so he couldn't escape.

Don't let his calm demeanor fool you; he's actually been gone for quite a while now. A silent, bittersweet feeling welled up inside him. There were just too many people. He wanted to run, but he couldn't escape.

Chip-style Ethan the angel and Ethan the demon popped out and started arguing.

Demon Ethan clenched his fist: "No way, let's open the portal a few more times and see if we can escape. Didn't you know everyone was watching you when you couldn't escape just now?"

"But wouldn't that be a bit inappropriate?" Angel Ethan hesitated before speaking. "Miss Bertha invited us. Wouldn't it be impolite to just run away like this? Although it's embarrassing, we're already here. After what just happened, what could be more embarrassing than that?"

"What are you talking about?!" the demon Ethan questioned him incredulously. "If we stay here for even a second longer, others might remember us and start talking to the people around them, 'Oh, look, that's the magician who couldn't escape just now. I don't know why she ran away,' and then they'll start laughing."

“I don’t think people would do that, do they?” Angel Ethan hesitated. “Everyone seems like a nice person. They’re not smiling, and they’re not talking about us right now.”

“You’re the one who’s crazy,” the demon Ethan exclaimed. “You dare to judge people by their appearance? You would have died countless times in Starfall City. Just because you didn’t hear them doesn’t mean they didn’t say anything. They might be thinking something, or they might be communicating using some kind of magic.”

"You're thinking too badly of them. I know it's wrong to judge people by their appearance in Starfall City, but aren't these people from other cities?" Angel Ethan said firmly, hands on his hips. "This isn't Starfall City. Let's not talk about conspiracy theories, okay?"

“Holy Father!” the devil Ethan cursed him. “You’re like a ridiculous, all-encompassing Holy Father.”

Angel Ethan stared at him in shock, then immediately felt wronged: "You actually insulted me!"

Then the angel Ethan and the demon Ethan started hurling insults at each other. Ethan paused for a moment, pulling his wandering thoughts back. Damn it! Imagining himself arguing with himself was a bit too far-fetched.

Bertha was introducing her forces to him one by one, while Ethan was lost in thought, but he was still multitasking, memorizing faces and names—there were so many people!

There were too many people. They surrounded Ethan as if he were looking at something new and interesting. With so many people talking to him at close range, Ethan naturally couldn't help but want to escape again.

At this moment, Bertha and Lily stood firmly like his left and right protectors, smiling as they pressed their hands on his shoulders, and he couldn't move an inch.

Ethan's eyes are practically turning into mosquito coils; he's so socially awkward, he's even on the verge of tears.

He doesn't seem to be a criminal, so why does this look like he's being watched?

Bertha: We need to get to know this child better, so we'll have more options if something happens in the future.

Lily: I'll see how you bewitch my friend, you damned succubus.

The innocent Ethan was dazed and confused as he was led around to meet a whole bunch of people. It was such a strange feeling. Before becoming a guardian, he didn't think he had ever known so many people. He didn't even have this many classmates before he dropped out of school, not to mention that he hadn't left the house for a long time.

Because most of Bertha's followers are powerful magicians who have been with her for more than just a day or two, and some are even older than her, with the youngest being over twenty, they all feel the same way about Ethan, who is not even an adult yet, as an older sister or a mother.

Some pinched his cheeks, some rubbed his head, and some grabbed his arm and said, "Your muscles aren't good enough. You need to work on them. A magician can't rely entirely on magic."

They were all laughing, chatting with their close friends about Ethan, saying he was too shy, and that the older sisters wouldn't eat him, so why was he so afraid?

Experienced magicians could easily see the awkwardness beneath the seemingly calm exterior of the naive child. They could guess it after a few tries, and a glance at Bertha confirmed it.

These magicians were too enthusiastic. Not only did they touch him inappropriately, but one of them even tried to kiss his face. Ethan quickly took several steps back, unable to control the heat on his face, which turned red all the way to his neck, eliciting another round of good-natured laughter from the magicians.

The cloaks and hoods were pulled off, and one of the older women said that it was too gloomy and that this was a fun gathering, so there was no need to be so serious.

Ethan nervously pinched his thigh, and many people were talking to him. Naturally, Ethan's actions were quickly noticed by everyone.

Some people pulled his hands away from his legs and said gently that even if he was nervous, he shouldn't pinch himself. The older women chimed in, analyzing that this behavior was not good and that he shouldn't have this kind of self-harm mentality. Even if it was to relieve tension, he shouldn't pinch himself.

Ethan blushed and couldn't utter a single word. He could only nod frantically, indicating that he would change and asking his sisters to stop nagging him.

This feels so strange, Ethan thought.

The enthusiastic older women teased him and gently comforted him, their laughter filling the air. They even smelled wonderful; I couldn't tell if it was perfume or shower gel, but they really did smell amazing.

In this atmosphere, even without drinking, Ethan felt dizzy and even considered asking several of his sisters about perfumes so he could write to Selene's mother to buy some.

Perhaps he was too dizzy, because he actually asked, stammering that he wanted to buy it for his mother, and his sisters' eyes all changed.

They exchanged a glance and couldn't help but burst out laughing, which earned Ethan even more intense touching, rubbing, and sticking.

“Oh my god, he actually said he wanted to give it to his mother.” One of the women wiped away tears of laughter with her fingers, but she couldn’t stop smiling. “This child is just too good, too cute. I wish my child had even a fraction of him. The other day, my youngest child was going through a rebellious phase and called me an old woman. I was so angry that I beat him so badly that he couldn’t go to school anymore. I’m only 500 years older than him, how did the generation gap become so big? He’s also very different from his older brothers and sisters.”

Her friend patted her shoulder reassuringly and handed her a piece of paper covered with dense writing. Every few paragraphs, there were signatures left by their close friends: "Write something down. If you have a sign, write the sign; if you don't, write something. In case he doesn't know how, he can come to you."

She took it, quickly wrote a long paragraph, finished writing, left her signature and contact information, and handed it to the next person.

"How adorable." She couldn't help but sigh as she looked at Ethan, who was still surrounded by enthusiastic older women. Her friend nodded in agreement.

Bertha's men weren't just women; there were also some men in the room. They watched from afar as Ethan, blushing, was surrounded and teased by his sisters, and couldn't help but sigh.

Run! This boy, who looks like he's underage, will become the playthings of these older women if he doesn't run away soon! They've been through it all; some are even over 60 and still can't escape the shameful nicknames from these enthusiastic older women, like "Little XX," they've heard them for decades.

Building, windows, playing cards, run!

Why does he look so young? Could he really be a minor? How can someone so young have such great strength?

The enthusiastic older women didn't just ruffle his hair and pinch his cheeks until they were red; they also casually grabbed food and fed it to Ethan.

Ethan: "Um—wait..."

His sisters thought he was shy, so they forked different delicacies or desserts and stuffed them into his mouth, being careful not to stick them too far in, as it's not good to have a fork stuck in his throat.

Ethan thought he must have some magic potion to make vomiting, right? He seemed to have made several bottles. He'd drink them when he got back; his sisters were moving too fast, and he felt bad refusing.

Several male mages in the distance couldn't help but click their tongues in amazement.

“They’re here again.” One of them couldn’t help but speak up: “That’s how it is, they love to feed me anything, I gained 10 pounds in two weeks.” He still seemed a little shaken.

"What's that compared to what I did?" someone interrupted him, then thought back and couldn't help but shudder: "I was fed so much that I gained 50 pounds, I lost all my muscle, and they kept feeding me while I was trying to lose weight, or waving super fragrant food in front of me, making it even harder to lose weight!"

It's a nightmare. Who hasn't been a young person at least once? Looking at their ordinary colleagues, who might not even be a fraction of their age, these enthusiastic magicians treat them like children. Maybe they've been using the same filter for too long, because they still treat them like children, even though these people are old enough to have great-grandchildren.

Women are terrifying!

The men stared at each other, unable to help but sigh, then watched as Ethan was fed all sorts of high-calorie foods while they ate their own low-calorie meals.

Ethan's mouth was stuffed with all sorts of food: cake, roast meat, salad, and even ice cream. He was also holding a bowl of soup and was chewing frantically, trying to swallow it all.

Even so, his older sister kept saying that it wasn't enough, that he was too small and too thin, and that he needed to eat well to grow taller. She brought over another plate of food, intending to feed him, and fed him whenever she could find a spare moment.

Ethan: "..."

Ethan: "QAQ"

Bertha, please help! Why are you and Lily just watching from the sidelines?

As someone was feeding the child, they couldn't resist any longer and approached Bertha, saying, "Bertha, is this child an adult? Why does he look so small? And so thin? He seems a bit malnourished?"

“No, he’s not an adult yet,” Bertha gave her a firm answer. “He just turned 14, his birthday was only recently.”

The magician who asked her was just trying it out, but he didn't expect that she was really a minor. No wonder she was only 1.7 meters tall. Not only was she short, but she was also thin and small.

The magician sister couldn't stand it. She quickly picked up two plates of food from the table next to her, squeezed into the crowded throng, and vowed to fatten Ethan up completely.

Bertha opened her mouth, but in the end, she couldn't bring herself to say that Ethan was dead and wouldn't live much longer.

-----------------------

Author's Note: I've decided to change Ethan's age back to 14 from the beginning, because I originally envisioned him as an underage magician/guardian, and I would have kept making him younger while writing.

This picture can be interpreted as: women in their late teens, early twenties, or thirties teasing their friend's newborn baby. "Is this appropriate? Isn't the age range a bit too low?" "Bessa: I've never given birth, I'm single [hands clasped together.jpg]"

Writing this makes me feel so happy and refreshed [heart eyes], so many beautiful ladies! [sprinkling flowers]

I touched Q's head. Of the three mothers in the Selene trio, only the one I drew at the beginning looked good. Lily also has black hair, but since she's not a mother [?], I didn't draw her.

I'll be starting my internship at the end of June, so I probably won't be able to keep up with daily updates during that time, since I'll be doing my internship in June and July.

I booked an ID photo session with Ethan, but the artist hasn't replied. The pay wasn't much, but the art style is amazing, so I'm really upset. He said I'd be available around the 20th, but I still haven't heard back. This was my first time doing an in-person session, so friends, please don't book in-person sessions for commissions!
