Chapter 129 Eating the Clam Shells She Left Over

"What are you two doing? Acting all lovey-dovey in broad daylight, what do you take me for?"

Qin Jinshen waited in the mansion all day without seeing anyone. He had long since broken down and lost his mind. He rushed over and roared at Ling Huanwu and Qiao Hui, like a husband who was heartbroken by his wife's betrayal.

Ling Huanwu's clam on her chopsticks fell into the bowl with a "plop," and she stared blankly at the man opposite her whom she hadn't seen for several days. She opened her mouth, about to argue.

The guard, Ma, joined in the accusations, "Comrade Ling, how could you do this? Our Er Gou disappeared for two days and two nights, weren't you worried at all? Didn't you even come looking for him once? It's a wonder Er Gou treated you so well, and you're here eating and drinking like this!"

These words struck a chord with Qin Jin, and his eyes instantly welled up with tears.

He didn't understand. He was a living person, yet Ling Huanwu hadn't even mentioned him. What did she take him for?

Seeing that the two had finally given her a chance to speak, Ling Huanwu licked her lips and looked up at him, "Comrade Zhao Ergou, you're nobody to me. What I do with someone in broad daylight is none of your business."

"besides……"

She looked at the guard, whose eyes were wide open, her gaze scrutinizing him from below, and said meaningfully, "You've been missing for two days and two nights. So many things have happened in the village. I was just about to ask you two where you've been these past two days!"

With just two sentences, he silenced the two people.

Qin Jinshen and Guard Ma exchanged a glance, and Qin Jinshen replied guiltily, "We came to find you. Do you suspect we've been doing something wrong?"

Ling Huanwu had a knowing look on her face but didn't say anything. "Then I should thank you for looking for me."

Just then, Zhou Jiuzhen walked over and touched Qin Jinshen's shoulder, causing Qin Jinshen to hiss in pain.

Guard Ma quickly pulled Qin Jinshen aside, and mocked Zhou Jiuzhen with a smirk, "Commander Zhou, you have a good magnanimity; you can even swallow this insult."

As he spoke, he looked at Qiao Hui, implying that he was being cuckolded.

Ling Huanwu couldn't stand it any longer. She grabbed an iron rake from the side and pretended to gouge out the guard's mouth. "Say that again, and believe me, I'll gouge out your mouth, you glutton, so you'll never be able to eat anything good again!"

Guard Ma covered his mouth in terror and quickly dragged Qin Jinshen to the side.

He patted his frightened heart, filled a bowl with white rice, and saw that there was only one spoonful of tofu and clam soup left in the big iron pot. He was about to happily scoop it into his bowl when Zhao Jingxiang scooped it out first.

Zhao Jingxiang glared fiercely at Guard Ma, who immediately wilted in fear, becoming as timid as a submissive wife and not daring to stop him.

Turning around, he saw Zhao Jingxiang actually serving the last spoonful of tofu and clam soup to Zhou Shuyao, whose body was wrapped in bandages, his eyes red.

"That green tea b*tch, always playing the victim, she doesn't even spare men!"

Guard Ma spat in Zhou Shuyao's direction, then secretly went behind the corner and brought the clam shells that Ling Huanwu had just finished eating and spat out, along with the white rice, to Qin Jinshen, earnestly urging him to eat.

"Grandpa, you haven't eaten for days. Although there's no clam soup that my sister-in-law makes, there are still clams that my aunt has already eaten..."

He pushed a whole basin of clam shells in front of Qin Jinshen, whose eyes were vacant. Qin Jinshen looked at the basin of shells that had been licked clean, then looked at Guard Ma, and angrily picked up a whole enamel basin and slammed it on his head. "There are still those shells in here that guy surnamed Qiao vomited. You want me to eat them?"

The following day, Ling Huanwu took the prepared clam samples, and together with Lin Xiaoqin and Qiao Hui, boarded a fishing boat to go inland to find clam buyers.

Before they even boarded the ship, villagers from other villages who had come to exchange their work points for yesterday's wages stood on the dock and began to mock them.

"Has this capitalist's daughter gone mad? She's actually going out to solicit customers. Does she think she's one of those street vendors who can easily find seafood merchants?"

"Yeah, does she even know where the seafood vendors live? I doubt she even knows where they sell their seafood."

"Just look at them, even if only a few of them go, they'll still have to slink back home by nightfall, hahaha..."

The villagers from other villages didn't control their volume either, and started booing and laughing loudly.

Lin Xiaoqin was furious at these people for looking down on her and wanted to argue with them, but Ling Huanwu grabbed her arm, glanced at the time, and hurriedly boarded the boat.

The three of them had just boarded the ship.

A dark shadow flew over like a mountain pressing down. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be Zhou Jiuzhen, who leaped onto the deck in a few strides, carrying large and small bags in his hands.

Ling Huanwu was taken aback. "Why did you follow me? Don't you have anything to do in the army?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Zhao Jingxiang, carrying Zhou Shuyao on his back, swaggered onto the boat from the step.

Why did you all come along?

Zhao Jingxiang placed Zhou Shuyao, who was half-dead and could only move his two eyeballs, on the deck. "Brother Zhou said he was about to die and needed to go to the hospital, so I took him with me. It was on the way anyway."

Zhou Shuyao, who was lying on the deck, nodded in agreement.

Zhou Jiuzhen felt as if he were facing a formidable enemy, the words of this man from a few days ago, who had boasted that he would spend money to steal Ling Huanwu, still echoing in his ears.

He immediately stepped in front of Ling Huanwu, but before he could even shoo her away, Wang Guihua rushed over, panting, "Shuyao, your wife hasn't come home all night, and the three kids are crying because they're hungry. I went to inquire this morning and found out that she was taken to that Boss Qin by villagers from the next village. You should hurry and rescue her!"

Even though Zhou Shuyao didn't care about Song Yaoyao's life or death, when he heard his mother say that the triplets were crying loudly from hunger, his heart still tightened and ached.

He subconsciously looked at Ling Huanwu.

Sure enough, Ling Huanwu, who had been calm just moments before, was now filled with worry. She reassured her mother-in-law and told her to find a woman in the village who had also given birth to feed the baby so that they wouldn't go hungry.

He then instructed the boatman to change course and head to where Qin Jinshen was currently staying.

Before the dilapidated fishing boat even reached the uninhabited island, Qin Jinshen and his bodyguard Ma, having heard rumors, rushed back to the large villa on the island.

Qin Jin was overjoyed and immediately ordered the chef to prepare a large table of delicious dishes. He even arranged a candlelight dinner, mimicking the romantic scenes in 1990s movies.

Although it wasn't dark yet, he drew all the curtains to create a romantic atmosphere.

Following Qin Jinshen's instructions, Ma, the bodyguard, waited for Ling Huanwu's arrival at the beach early in the morning.

As soon as the fishing boat docked, Guard Ma gave a wink to the fishermen on the boat, then respectfully said to Ling Huanwu, "Miss Ling, our master only allows you to go in. The group of men behind you cannot go in!"

"Of course, you can bring other people in, but we can't guarantee the safety of your sister-in-law, Song Yaoyao."

Seeing that the guard was taking advantage of his kindness, Zhou Jiuzhen quickly grabbed Ling Huanwu and shook his head to signal her not to go in.

Of the group, Zhou Shuyao reacted the most strongly.

He lay on the deck, his body bandaged and unable to move, but his mouth was cursing incessantly as if it were laced with poison, "You bastard surnamed Qin! My Huanhuan's underwear still smells of my soap, and you dare to come near it? You even want to lure my wife into your room for a private meeting?"
