Chapter 320 I am neither a chick nor a crow

To everyone's surprise, just as the two of them fell asleep, a completely black bird emerged from some crack in the tent and strolled in leisurely.

The tent, which had been making a lot of noise just moments before, immediately fell silent.

The triplets exclaimed in unison, "Little chick, little chick!"

Song Panmei immediately jumped out of bed and gently explained to the triplets, "This isn't a chick, it's a little bird!"

Zhou Jiuzhen rested one hand on the bed, a sneer curling at the corner of his lips. He looked at Song Panmei as if she were an immature child. "This is no bird. Although Pilot Song is from the city, she still flies in the sky every day. Can't she tell the difference between a bird and a crow?"

Song Panmei could easily understand the sarcasm in his words. Instead, she smiled and looked at Ling Huanwu with tenderness, "That's right, Huanwu and I both live in the city, so it's normal that we don't recognize each other. Just like when Huanwu was little, she was even more mischievous and often thought I was her younger sister, calling me 'younger sister,' and she even insisted on taking a bath with me..."

As Song Panmei chattered on, Ling Huanwu, recalling the silly things she had done as a child, couldn't help but giggle. "Who told you to be so pretty? Even my grandpa said you were prettier than me, so I thought you were a little girl."

"Yes, when I was little you always dressed me up as a little girl..."

Song Panmei and Ling Huanwu reminisced about the past with smiles on their faces.

Zhou Jiuzhen clenched his remaining fist, his whole body pounding with rage.

He knew in his heart that Song Panmei was definitely doing this on purpose.

He deliberately brought up the topic of taking a bath together when they were children, and deliberately said that Ling Huanwu said he was beautiful, just to spite him.

What angered him even more was that Song Panmei actually called him "little sister"!

His implication was that he was younger than Ling Huanwu.

But Song Panmei is clearly young, so why did Ling Huanwu call him "brother" before?

The thought of how many secrets these two people held that he didn't know, and Qin Jinshen's expression when he talked about them before, made Zhou Jiuzhen so angry that he almost jumped out of bed and strangled that arrogant and smug "pretty girl".

So, with that thought in mind, Zhou Jiuzhen jumped out of bed and, unwilling to admit defeat, grabbed the "black bird" on the ground: "This isn't a black bird, it's a crow, a crow!"

Ling Huanwu and Song Panmei, who were talking about their childhood anecdotes, both fell silent and stared at Zhou Jiuzhen speechlessly.

Song Panmei's lips twitched, ignoring Zhou Jiuzhen's serious gaze, "You say it's a crow, it's a crow, it's no big deal."

"What's the big deal!"

Zhou Jiuzhen was furious, his face serious and earnest. "A crow is a crow, and a pheasant is a pheasant. Does a pheasant somehow become a phoenix?"

His meaning was clear: the vixen outside is a vixen, and that can never change the fact that he is the legitimate man in Ling Huanwu's family!

Now, Song Panmei's gentle and refined face could no longer maintain its composure, and veins bulged on her forehead.

Zhou Jiuzhen seemed to have found a way to control him, and he raised his head even higher, looking at Song Panmei as if he were a superior looking at a small fry. "Oh, you still don't believe me? Then how about I burn a match for you and verify if this is a crow!"

"Xiao Bao, get the matchbox out of my pocket!"

Because he was holding the crow in one hand and couldn't move the other, he had no choice but to ask Xiaobao for help.

Xiao Bao responded, then carried a small stool, stood on it, and tiptoed to try and reach his uncle's pocket.

The little hands rummaged around inside and finally pulled out a large picture frame.

Xiao Bao held the large photo frame in his hands, his chubby face full of confusion, "Is this a matchbox?"

Zhou Jiuzhen, however, casually dropped the "crow" in his hand, grabbed the photo frame from Xiao Bao's hand, and flipped it over with a graceful spin, perfectly displaying the contents of the large photo frame.

She was still muttering complaints to Xiaobao, "Oh dear, Xiaobao, you took the wrong thing! Why did you take this out?"

Ling Huanwu and Song Panmei looked closely and saw that the large photo frame in Zhou Jiuzhen's hand was actually a marriage certificate!

That's Ling Huanwu and Zhou Jiuzhen's marriage certificate!

Just then, Guan, the military doctor who was sleeping in the corner, was woken up by the noise. He got up with a look of utter despair and came over to pour water. He also craned his neck to gossip and happened to see Zhou Jiuzhen holding up his framed marriage certificate and showing off.

The military doctor, Guan, floated past them, his face full of shock.

Ling Huanwu was completely stunned.

She couldn't understand what had suddenly happened to her dull and old-fashioned husband. He had inexplicably framed their marriage certificate and carried such a large frame with him everywhere!

And how on earth did they manage to fit such a huge picture frame in that pocket?!

What left her speechless was that Zhou Jiuzhen, as if afraid Song Panmei wouldn't see the contents of the marriage certificate in the photo frame, shoved it close to Song Panmei's face, revealing the bright red mark on the marriage certificate, "Oh dear, sorry, I took the wrong one, I'll go get the matches now..."

As he spoke, he carefully put the marriage certificate photo frame back into his pocket, took out a matchbox from it, and nimbly pretended to grab the "crow" on the ground.

The crow, which had been scrambling to the ground by Zhou Jiuzhen, immediately stood at attention and started cursing as a large hand approached, yelling, "You're the crow! I'm the parrot! I'm 'Little Green'! Little Green!"

Zhou Jiuzhen's hand froze in mid-air, and he even dropped the matchbox in shock.

Not to mention Song Panmei and Doctor Guan, who had never seen such a scene before. They both looked like they had seen a ghost when they saw a talking bird in the middle of the night.

Ling Huanwu's eyes lit up as she stared at the bird with its familiar shape and outline. She immediately picked up the "black bird" and threw it into the water bucket next to her.

The black bird cried and screamed, its cries of "Kill the bird!" giving Ling Huanwu a headache.

I scrubbed myself for a long time, and the whole bucket of water turned black.

The others gathered around and saw that the dark little bird had suddenly turned into a green parrot that had fallen into the water.

The triplets squatted by the bucket, reaching out their chubby little hands to tug at the little green chicken's feathers, excitedly shouting in their babyish voices, "Wow, it's a green chicken..."

Little Green screamed in pain, and with its sharp beak, it cursed again, "You're the chicken! All three of you are chickens!"

The three little ones wanted to drag Xiao Lü into dancing, but Ling Huanwu hurriedly rescued Xiao Lü from their grasp.

Ling Huanwu carefully pried open Xiao Lü's wings, took out a small black object from under the wing, sniffed it, and then handed it to Zhou Jiuzhen, saying seriously, "Jiuzhen, look at this. What is this? How come there's something like this on our island?"

Zhou Jiuzhen gave Song Panmei a provocative look, to show his superiority in having his wife ask him first.

He took the black substance from Ling Huanwu's hand, rubbed it between his fingers, and then sniffed it.

When he realized what it was, he was so excited that his hands started shaking.
