Chapter 22 Escape

Ye Shuning hadn't eaten anything during the past few days since she was kidnapped, so she needed to eat something to regain her strength so she could have enough energy to escape when she got off the car.

Ye Shuning ate some pudding very carefully and didn't dare to drink water for fear of making noise.

Ye Shuning had been holding back from drinking water, and after waiting for several hours, someone finally couldn't help but get off the bus to relieve themselves.

The traffickers saw that they had no choice but to arrange for everyone to get off the bus. The wind and sand were too strong, so in order to spend less time outside, they arranged for everyone to get off the bus together.

The traffickers figured no one would dare escape in such weather. Running away would likely lead to death.

The trafficker threatened Ye Shuning and the other girls, saying, "Behave yourself! Don't even think about running away. In this vast desert, in this weather, you'll quickly get lost and end up dead. You'll only be safe if you stay with us."

When the girls heard this, they nodded quickly and said they would be obedient.

In order to relieve themselves, Ye Shuning and the others' hands and feet were temporarily untied, and the woman trafficker took the girls to a place not far from the car to relieve themselves.

The traffickers took the boys to the other side of the car so that the men and women could not see each other.

When the girls were relieved, the woman traffickers also squatted down.

Ye Shuning was just pretending. When she saw the woman trafficker squatting to relieve herself, she immediately pulled up her pants and ran in one direction.

The trafficker got anxious when she saw Ye Shuning running away, but she was in a panic. Even if the woman screamed because of the howling wind, the trafficker on the other side of the car could not hear her at all.

Ye Shuning ran as fast as she could, away from the car. As she ran, she took out a mask and put it on, so that she could at least breathe.

She didn't care whether her eyes were blinded by the wind and sand, nor did she care whether the yellow sand was all over her body, even getting into her clothes. All she wanted now was to run fast and not be caught by the bad guys.

The trafficker gave chase for a few steps but then stopped, fearing the other girls would take the opportunity to escape, or that she would get lost if she did. She quickly ran to the car and shouted that someone had escaped.

Ye Shuning ran for a distance and looked back to see that no one was catching up with her. She also couldn't see the car. She went straight into the research institute without hesitation.

She lay on the floor of her dormitory at the research institute, gasping for breath, tears streaming down her face. She burst into tears, feeling both the joy of having survived and the fear of having been kidnapped and sold.

After crying for a while, Ye Shuning got up and went into the bathroom, took off her clothes covered with yellow sand, stood under the shower head and washed herself carefully.

After taking a shower, Ye Shuning felt her legs and feet were weak and she had no strength in her body. She wolfed down a few buns, drank a bag of milk, and went to bed. She wanted to have a good rest.

The human traffickers all knew that Ye Shuning had escaped, but they really didn't dare to go out and chase her in this kind of weather. They might not only fail to catch her but also lose their own lives, which was not worth it.

Besides, they all thought that if Ye Shuning ran out, she would almost certainly die. There was almost no human habitation within a hundred miles, and if she got lost again and wandered deep into the desert, she would have no chance of survival.

Thinking of this, the human traffickers felt balanced.

Ye Shuning slept soundly and woke up naturally.

After waking up, I stretched, touched my rumbling stomach, got out of bed, walked into the kitchen and made myself a big bowl of tomato and egg noodles.

Only after Ye Shuning finished her tomato and egg noodles did she feel like she was finally alive.

Ye Shuning found that the wind and sand were still raging outside, so she stayed in the dormitory instead of going out. She would not go out until the sandstorm stopped and the traffickers' cars left.

She had nothing to worry about and could wait. With nothing to do, Ye Shuning went into a colleague's dormitory. The colleague had a laptop with a lot of movies on it, so she took it back to the dormitory, leaned against the headboard, opened the laptop, searched around, and started a movie.

This movie is a desert adventure film that tells the story of several people searching for the ruins and treasures of a lost ancient city in the desert along the ancient Silk Road.

Ye Shuning felt that she was in the desert now, and she didn't know where she was. Maybe she could learn some skills to survive in the desert from the movies.

In the movie, several explorers, after a long and arduous search, finally found an ancient city buried underground in the vast desert. They accidentally encountered quicksand and fell into the underground ancient city.

The film is thrilling and exciting. Ye Shuning's main focus is on the dangers in the desert and how to deal with them. She also focuses on how to survive in the desert.

Ye Shuning watched several desert-related movies in succession and learned a lot. So, smart people are good at discovering and learning.

To rest her eyes, Ye Shuning went to the small garden, where the crops had already sprouted. She needed to learn more about agriculture so that she could make full use of the limited land in the institute.

Ye Shuning had once participated in a compound fertilizer research project and had some knowledge of agriculture, but that was several years ago, so she didn't have many books on fertilizers.

Their research institute had been conducting research on agricultural fertilizers and nutrients, so she pried open the dormitory doors of several of her colleagues. Not only did she find a lot of information about fertilizers, she also found some books on agriculture.

Ye Shuning immediately went to the library and archives of the institute to look for it. There were indeed quite a few books and materials on agriculture. These books were the crystallization of agricultural technology, and Ye Shuning regarded them as treasures.

Ye Shuning gathered all the books together and began to select and read them, hoping to learn some knowledge about farming.

Ye Shuning was busy in the research institute for two days. When she looked outside again, the sandstorm had stopped and the traffickers' car had long disappeared.

Standing in a desolate and silent desert, there is nothing around, only endless yellow sand.

Ye Shuning stood on a sand dune, feeling a little dazed. Although she had escaped from the clutches of the human traffickers, she had no idea how to get out of the desert.

Luckily, she had a golden finger, so she didn't have to worry about dying of thirst or starvation. Just treat it as a desert trip. Maybe she'd discover the ruins of an ancient city like in the movies.

Although the sandstorm has stopped, the weather is still gloomy and it feels like it is going to snow.

Ye Shuning couldn't determine the exact direction, so she decided to go in one direction. There were many cars parked in the institute's parking lot, and there were also electric bikes and bicycles in the carport.

Ye Shuning chose an SUV. She knew which colleague it belonged to, so she broke into the colleague's dorm room and found the keys. She started the car and was delighted to find a full tank of gas. It was a hybrid, so she planned to use the electric power first. If it ran out of juice, she would recharge it in the research institute's space.

She found that many cars in the parking lot could be charged, which was great. After all, gasoline was difficult for her to get, so charging was no problem at all.
