Chapter 25 Rescue

Having harvested a large amount of treasures of inestimable value today, Ye Shuning decided to make some delicious food to reward herself.

Ye Shuning found a chicken from the institute's cafeteria, chopped it in half, and made a braised chicken. She had to eat sparingly from the food in the cafeteria, and getting meat would be difficult in the future, so she had to eat sparingly. Having chicken to eat now was already a blessing.

She would have to search her colleagues' dormitories more often next time, as there might be meat in their refrigerators.

She had noticed the vegetables and fruits in the cafeteria hadn't changed in the past few days, and wondered if the space in the research institute she had come from had a freshness-preserving function. Regardless, it was a good thing for her that the fruits and vegetables didn't rot.

She will have to slowly explore the space of this research institute in the future.

In addition to the braised chicken, she also fried some tomatoes and eggs and cooked a pot of rice.

Ye Shuning ate her fill at this meal, and she didn't throw away the leftovers, saving them for the next meal. She had to develop the habit of being frugal in the future.

After a night's rest, Ye Shuning came out of the space and saw that the vast desert was covered with snow, and the sky and the earth were all white.

Ye Shuning had never seen such a scene before. She took out her camera and took a lot of photos. When the sun came out, she couldn't keep the snow scene.

The snow had stopped, but the weather hadn't cleared up yet. I wondered if it would snow again. It was very cold, so Ye Shuning put on a cotton coat and drove off again.

After walking for almost a day, the weather finally cleared up. Ye Shuning looked at the sunset in the desert and remembered the poem "The desert is filled with solitary smoke, the long river is filled with round sunset." This scenery was so beautiful that she had to take a picture.

Ye Shuning was lucky, and the next day she discovered the remains of an ancient city. However, only a few earthen walls remained of this ancient city.

But Ye Shuning was also very happy, because this showed that people had lived here thousands of years ago.

Ye Shuning parked the car and approached the earth wall. Suddenly, she found that there seemed to be something under the wall. Ye Shuning walked closer and saw that it was a person.

She quickly ran forward and saw a man wearing a thick cotton coat and a cotton hat. She immediately felt the man's carotid artery and found that he was still alive.

Ye Shuning saw that the man's face was blue and purple from the cold and his lips were chapped. This man must be seriously lacking in water, and perhaps even more lacking in food.

Ye Shuning did not dare to delay and quickly gave the man some warm salt water. Then she looked through the man's pockets and found an ID card, which showed that it was from Li Shaoyang of a certain unit.

This name immediately reminded Ye Shuning of Li Shaozhong's second brother, Li Shaoyang, who had been mentioned in the period novel. He had disappeared in the desert during a mission and never returned. He must be dead.

Li Shaozhong once went into the desert to look for his second brother's body, but he couldn't find it.

Could it be that the person she met at this moment was Li Shaozhong's second brother? This was simply too coincidental and too exciting.

Li Shaozhong had done her a favor, so if this person was Li Shaozhong's second brother, she should save him even more.

She looked at the man's face carefully. He was very handsome and looked a bit like Li Shaozhong. It seemed that he was really Li Shaozhong's second brother.

Ye Shuning thought for a moment and immediately went behind the other wall and entered the research institute. She couldn't expose the research institute's space with outsiders around, so she had to get more things out.

After entering the space, Ye Shuning first used the rice cooker to cook a pot of millet porridge. She had to feed the man some millet porridge later. It was best to eat some millet porridge first after not eating for a long time.

Then Ye Shuning found a big backpack and put more food in it.

There is little dry firewood in the desert, and it is not easy to make a fire and cook, so she has to get more food that can be eaten directly.

She didn't have any compressed biscuits, so she could only find biscuits in various packages. She removed all the packaging and put the biscuits in several plastic bags.

She also takes all the instant noodles out of the packaging, putting the noodles and seasoning packet in a large plastic bag. Even if the noodles are broken, they're still edible. I guess she'll be eating them dry more often in the future.

In addition to biscuits and instant noodles, Ye Shuning also prepared chocolate, fried steamed bread slices, spicy dried fish, spicy dried tofu, and more. Although this might arouse suspicion, she didn't have time to steam the steamed bread right now. So she let the traffickers take the blame for her.

She also took out a small aluminum pot, which she would use for cooking and boiling water. However, if she couldn't find any dry grass or wood, or if she had no firewood at all, she would prepare it first.

Ye Shuning also cleaned the metal drum that held cooking oil and filled it with water. She didn't dare use a plastic drum, as she had never seen one like it in her time, and she was afraid of arousing suspicion.

If you tear off the outer circle of the trademark on this iron oil drum, you can't see anything.

Ye Shuning changed her clothes into clothes of this era and her shoes into Liberation shoes. Finally, she put on a cotton coat and a woolen hat and came to the man with her things.

She felt the man's carotid artery and found it was much stronger than before.

Ye Shuning guessed that the man must have collapsed here due to hunger, thirst, and cold. Fortunately, he met her. No matter what, she couldn't just stand by and watch him die, otherwise she would feel guilty.

Ye Shuning saw that the place where the man was staying was a good place to shelter from the wind. She put her things aside.

Ye Shuning ate some steamed meat buns while the man was still asleep, and drank a bag of milk until she was full.

The millet porridge was ready. Ye Shuning first put some millet soup in a cup. After the temperature was right, she held the man's head up, let him lean on her shoulder and fed him the millet soup.

It was difficult to feed her at the beginning, perhaps because the man had a very strong desire to survive. Later, she began to swallow slowly, and then faster and faster, and soon a large cup of millet soup was drunk by the man.

Li Shaoyang felt something warm being fed into his mouth, and he instinctively began to swallow. Soon, Li Shaozhong regained consciousness.

He collapsed from exhaustion due to hunger and thirst. He thought he was going to die in the desert, but he didn't expect to be rescued.

Seeing that the large cup of millet soup had been finished, Ye Shuning put the man down and filled another cup of millet porridge. The man should wake up soon and should drink the porridge again in a while.

Ye Shuning poured all the millet porridge in the rice cooker into a clean aluminum pot, making sure there would be no porridge left later.

Li Shaoyang slowly opened his eyes and saw a beautiful girl looking at him in surprise. The girl's eyes were so beautiful that it seemed as if he could be drawn into them. However, Li Shaoyang, with a strong mind, quickly recovered.

Ye Shuning was overjoyed when she saw the man wake up, "You're awake, that's great."

As long as the person wakes up, there should be no problem. At least he won't die in the desert. Ye Shuning felt a sense of accomplishment for saving a person.
