Chapter 682 Who Isn't a Beloved Member?

The temple corridor was filled with rustling sounds, the fabric rubbing against each other like mice entering.

Several figures peeked out from around the corner, looking at the rugged and complicated corridor. One of them couldn't help but complain in a low voice.

"It's so complicated, there's no way to find the entrance..."

The other person quickly covered his mouth, making a warning expression.

This is the temple of the Savior, and they cannot afford to offend him. Although fortune favors the bold, and they have entered the temple seeking power and wealth, if they offend the Savior, they might not even be able to save their lives.

Suddenly, the entire team felt a chilling aura emanating from them, a coldness creeping up from their backs.

They instinctively turned around and saw a swarm of bats flying out from the depths of the passageway, heading straight for their faces.

"!!!"

The entire squad looked terrified and scrambled forward, nearly scared out of their wits.

But the bats didn't mean to harm them; they simply flew over their heads and into the depths.

Several survivors sat on the ground, their expressions blank, muttering to themselves.

"How could there be bats in a temple that isn't the Temple of the Savior...?"

They couldn't believe it.

Little did they know that in another corner of the temple, Bai Xi was watching them through a mirror, seeing them terrified and laughing uproariously.

"How could you be so stupid! Ulysses! How dare you enter my temple with such a paltry audacity!"

Bai Xi laughed until tears streamed down her face, while Ulysses maintained his elegant and aristocratic demeanor, standing beside her to prevent her from falling backward.

“They certainly wouldn’t believe that the progenitor of vampires is also in this temple.”

She turned her head, her face beaming with a bright smile, as radiant as the spring sunshine.

"If they knew that the savior and the progenitor of vampires were together, would they just shut up on the spot?"

Her tone was teasing.

"No, you are so good, no one would be willing to give up their faith in you."

Ulysses's blood-red eyes were filled with doting affection. This was not the first group of beings to come to the temple in search of opportunities. Bai Xi had always been very indulgent towards them. Coincidentally, she had also built a library with the most advanced wealth in the world. Some of the contents were even unfamiliar to her. They were all obtained from future memories and copied out without her having looked at them carefully.

The knowledge and magic hidden in the library do not belong to this era.

So if they can find the library, it would indeed be a tremendous opportunity.

Bai Xi enjoyed doing this. Every time someone came in, she would decide whether to throw them out or give them some benefits, depending on their temperament.

"Hmph, I don't believe it! You're just blind to love. Who knows if they'll think I'm a bad person?"

She raised her face, crossed her arms, and spoke with an arrogant tone.

Looking at the girl's delicate yet adorable appearance, Ulysses's gaze softened even more.

This was the result of his careful nurturing of her from scratch. Finally, Bai Xi learned to act coquettishly towards him and express her needs, instead of being as wooden in her emotional responses as before, which frustrated him.

"Definitely not."

Ulysses' tone was gentle yet firm.

"Alright, I'll trust you for now. The alchemical golems I put in the library are all very intelligent. I hope they're not too weak and run away after being scared."

Bai Xi nodded in satisfaction upon hearing the answer, even though this wasn't the first time she had asked the question.

Ulysses always answered her seriously, never giving a perfunctory answer.

What about over there?

Ulysses pointed to the screen on the other side.

Several powerful archmages, seeking immortality, also came to her temple.

This wasn't the first batch; a few would appear every now and then, but there were far fewer than those petty thieves trying to rise to the top overnight, and they treated her with great respect.

"Hmm... I don't want to see them for now."

Bai Xi curled her lips. In this era, there is no one who can form a godhood. No one has the willpower to carry it out for a lifetime. How could a godhood possibly be formed? Even if she told them, it would be useless. After all, she had tried many times before, and none of them could form a godhood.

"Bai Xi, you want us to teach these guys magic? You have a really bad conscience."

The little ghost had somehow appeared beside her, its voice filled with complaints.

Since returning to the temple, Bai Xi has inexplicably started researching known magical knowledge and secretly passing it on to the beings of this era. This has proven quite effective, as many powerful magicians have emerged in just a few hundred years.

"Don't mimic my speech."

She turned her head and put on a serious expression, but it was all an act; her eyes held an undisguised smile.

The little ghost is becoming increasingly anthropomorphic, all because of bad habits it picked up from Bai Xi.

"Who's imitating you? It's all that vampire's fault. He's always causing trouble for you."

His face was utterly speechless.

Ulysses is incredibly indulgent towards Baixi, supporting everything she does. Although Baixi is unlikely to mess things up or do anything bad, it doesn't mean that these elemental spirits don't feel exhausted. A friend who is too willful is really a troublesome presence.

Oh, right, and there's also Loy. Loy agrees with 99% of what Baixi does, except for the occasional objection if Baixi's actions might harm herself.

Over the past seven hundred years, the little ghost has watched helplessly as Bai Xi has transformed from a composed savior into a 'troublemaker'.

Although the little ghost said that, she was actually very happy about Bai Xi's changes.

God knows how unpleasant it was for people to feel after she left the Temple of Angels after doing that. Now she's full of energy every day and always thinking about doing all sorts of things. Although it's a bit troublesome, it truly makes everyone happy for her.

"Yes, that's right, it's all his fault."

Bai Xi showed no remorse and unhesitatingly shifted the blame onto Ulysses, displaying an arrogant and spoiled attitude.

Her chin was held high, like a proud little peacock. Perhaps it was due to a change in mindset, but although she had a world-weary and aloof face, that aura had faded considerably, replaced by the vitality of a living person and an energy she had never had before.

Bai Xi tossed a sentence to the little ghost and turned around, staring intently at the people who had broken into the temple.

"They're almost at the Statue Square. Don't bother me, I haven't had enough fun yet."

The little ghost couldn't do anything to Bai Xi, and upon hearing this, could only rub his head and turn to leave.
