Extra Chapter 6: The Simple Girl

"Why won't you sell it to you? You're a guest, I'll go in and ask."

"lady……"

The girl wanted to say something else, but Luo Lan rushed into the house impatiently.

Seeing her coming, Lele immediately came over to greet her.

"Mom, why are you here?"

She waved her hands angrily, "Don't call me mom. The girl outside is buying medicine, why don't you sell it to her?"

Huaiyu walked out from the counter, glanced at the door, shrugged, and said helplessly:

"Mom, her grandfather is almost dead. Medicine is useless."

"Huaiyu, how can you talk like that? She's a patient and wants to get medicine, but you refuse to sell it to her and even say such harsh words. How did you know she's dying? You're really going too far. Go apologize to that girl right away and sell her whatever medicine she wants at half price."

"Mom, why have you become so unreasonable?"

"You're saying I'm unreasonable?"

Luo Lan pointed his finger at his nose and asked,

"You're calling me unreasonable? You run a pharmacy, but you refuse to sell medicine. You're being reasonable?"

"Mom, please listen to my explanation."

Luo Lan tugged at his sleeve impatiently.

"No need to say anything else, you are wrong, so hurry up and apologize to that girl, otherwise, you won't get any fish tonight."

As she spoke, she pulled Huaiyu out of the door.

"Girl, he's here to apologize to you."

The girl waved her hands hurriedly, "Madam, this is not possible."

Luo Lan, however, pressed Huaiyu's head down without caring, "You little bastard, apologize."

Huaiyu rolled his eyes at the girl unwillingly.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have refused to sell you the medicine. I should have sold you more. You can buy as much as you want."

The girl looked at Luo Lan a little embarrassedly.

"Madam, don't blame him. You blamed him wrongly."

After saying this, she picked up the backpack and ran away quickly without looking back.

"girl……"

Luo Lan called her, but she didn't even turn her head.

She looked at Huaiyu in surprise.

"What on earth is going on?"

Huaiyu then began to explain,

"Mom, it's not that I don't want to sell her medicine. The doctor has seen her grandfather, and he's already terminally ill and can't be saved. But she still comes to buy medicine every day. Her grandfather can't even eat that medicine. Isn't it a waste?"

Luo Lan looked at him awkwardly.

"Did mother wrongly blame you? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

Huaiyu shook his head helplessly and smiled bitterly.

"Mom, you didn't even give me time to speak!"

Luo Lan glanced at the direction the girl left and said to Huaiyu:

'Do you know where she lives?'

Huaiyu nodded.

"I know. I went with the doctor last time."

"Who is in her family?"

"It seems that only her grandfather..."

Luo Lan sighed softly.

"She's a poor person. It's getting late today. Let's go back and cook. Tomorrow morning, bring the herbs and we'll go to her house to check on her."

"Mom, even if you have great medical skills and even if you have a lot of herbs, you can't save her grandfather. He's already ninety years old."

"Well, I saw that this girl was kind-hearted and she was crying pitifully just now, so I thought of going to see her."

Huaiyu pondered for a moment and nodded.

"Okay, two patients have appointments this afternoon and need to pick up their medicine. I'm not free, so I'll go with you tomorrow morning."

"Well, remember to go home for lunch. We'll go back first."

Leaving this sentence, Luo Lan took A Cai and went out.

Along the way, they bought some liquor that Leng Yu and Liu Dechang liked to drink, two pieces of steamed meat, and walked slowly towards home.

The next morning.

After dinner, Huaiyu asked Lele to go and look after the Saint Ann Pharmacy, and he drove the carriage and took Luo Lan and Acai out.

On the way, Luo Lan learned from Huaiyu that the girl's name was Ruan Feifei, and she lived in a small village not far from Tongyou City. She lost her parents when she was young and depended on her only grandfather for life. Now her grandfather was terminally ill. She still got up in the middle of the night to fish as before, and then came to Tongyou City to sell it. She used the money to buy medicine for her grandfather. At first, Huaiyu didn't know what was going on, and always gave her medicine in full. Once, Feifei's grandfather suddenly became seriously ill, and she came to ask for help from a doctor. Huaiyu and the doctor followed him to her home, only to find out that her grandfather was incurable, and no matter how much medicine she bought, it was in vain. This is how the scene just now happened.

After learning this information, Luo Lan felt even more that Ruan Feifei was a sensible and strong girl.

She knew that her grandfather was incurable, but she still tried her best.

She clearly had no money, but she still gave them a fish to eat.

She was very sad, but she still looked cheerful when facing others.

This girl's spirit is truly precious.

After they arrived at the small village where Ruan Feifei lived, Huaiyu pointed to a dilapidated courtyard at the west end of the village.

"Mom, that's Ruan Feifei's home."

Luo Lan looked over there in confusion.

"Why are there so many people in her house?"

After asking this question, she suddenly realized something.

"Huaiyu, go over there quickly, maybe her grandfather has passed away."

Huaiyu did not dare to delay and hurriedly rode his horse over there. When the three of them got off the carriage, they saw a coffin that had just been painted red placed in the yard.

It seems that her guess was right, Ruan Feifei's grandfather passed away.

When the three of them arrived in the yard, they saw her in mourning clothes burning paper money in front of the coffin.

Someone from the village called out,

"Miss Ruan, there are guests at home."

Hearing this, she looked up at the door. When she saw Luo Lan and his group, she hurriedly stood up from the ground, dusted herself off, and stepped forward to ask:
