Chapter 3 I Want to Marry You

Su Ziqing, however, sensed the unusual atmosphere in the living room and looked at the man sitting in the guest seat.

Gong Chengjue let him look him over, and even gave a slight, elegant smile.

"Grandpa and Mr. Gong are discussing business?" She glanced at Gong Chengjue, then looked back at Su Shilin and asked with a sweet smile.

"Ziqing..." Su Shilin wanted her to leave.

Gong Chengjue, however, had already said, "I'm here to propose marriage."

Su Ziqing looked at Gong Chengjue, "What did Mr. Gong say?"

"Ziqing, go back to your room first." Su Shilin's voice was a little deeper.

Gong Chengjue looked at Su Shilin, his handsome face devoid of any smile. "Mr. Su, this is my sincerity."

Gong Chengjue's gaze swept over the coffee table and the gifts he had brought.

"Whom is Mr. Gong proposing to?" Su Ziqing glanced at the gift in the brocade box. It was a beloved antique that her grandfather had wanted to bid on but hadn't been able to. The item was currently worth over two hundred million...

The gifts that the man surnamed Gong sent were all tailored to her preferences, which clearly indicated that he had done his research. She immediately had a bad feeling.

Meeting his deep gaze, I heard him utter a single word, "You."

"Pfft." Su Ziqing burst out laughing, but there was no mirth in her eyes. "Mr. Gong, what kind of joke are you making?"

But Gong Chengjue's handsome face was serious, without a trace of joking.

Although Su Shilin was angry, he didn't dare to offend the Gong family. When Su Ziqing laughed, he gently scolded her, "Ziqing, don't be rude."

"It is my honor to make Miss Su smile." Gong Chengjue looked at Su Ziqing, their eyes met, and he put on a gentlemanly demeanor for Old Master Su's benefit.

But Su Ziqing wouldn't be fooled by his appearance. Don't forget, just three days ago, he was being chased by mercenaries.

Just as Gong Chengjue wouldn't be fooled by her well-behaved young lady image, after all, the experience three days ago was his own personal experience, wasn't it?

The two gazed deeply into each other's eyes.

In the end, Su Ziqing was the weaker one and spoke up, smiling slightly as she looked defiantly at Gong Chengjue. "I have a simian crease, which is considered unlucky for husbands!! Aren't you afraid, Mr. Gong?"

“I’m tough, I’m not afraid,” Gong Chengjue replied.

The entire living room fell silent for a moment, with Gong Chengjue sitting there calmly.

“Mr. Gong…” Su Shilin thought about how to refuse in a way that would make Gong Chengjue back down without offending him.

"Grandpa, let me talk to Mr. Gong?" Su Ziqing handed a cup of hot water to Su Shilin. Su Shilin was in his seventies or eighties and his body couldn't handle any stimulation.

"Ziqing..." He didn't care whether her palm was broken or not; he only recognized her as his granddaughter.

Su Ziqing gave a sensible smile. "Grandpa, let's let the younger generation talk about this first, okay? After all, I've met Mr. Gong once before." She then looked at Gong Chengjue. "What do you think, Mr. Gong?"

If she had known this would happen, she should have let Gong Chengjue get into trouble.

Their eyes met, and Gong Chengjue understood the meaning in Su Ziqing's eyes, smiling slightly, "Okay."

"Please, Mr. Gong," Su Ziqing said with a sweet smile.

Gong Chengjue followed her out of the living room and into the Su family's garden.

As soon as Su Ziqing entered the garden, she turned around and asked, "Mr. Gong, what do you mean? I have no grudge against you, do I?"

Gong Chengjue gave her a deep look. "Miss Su is joking. We not only have no enmity, but you are also my savior."

"Heh, Mr. Gong, I don't sense any gratitude from you today. Or is it that you're used to repaying kindness with enmity?" Su Ziqing sneered. In front of her grandfather, she was an obedient girl, but she was not as easy to bully as she seemed.

He had witnessed her methods a few days ago, so why pretend so fakely?

“Miss Su, I, Gong, am a grateful person. After much thought, I can only repay your life-saving grace by offering myself to you,” Gong Chengjue said earnestly.

Speak like a human.

Gong Chengjue took a step forward...

Su Ziqing instinctively took a step back, looking at him warily.

Gong Chengjue took another step forward...

"Mr. Gong!" What is he trying to do, getting so close?

"Miss Su's abilities must be kept secret from Old Master Su, right?" Gong Chengjue leaned forward slightly, smelling her faint fragrance, a playful smile flashing across his face.

Su Ziqing narrowed her eyes slightly.

“Since Miss Su is also going on blind dates, why not consider me?” Gong Chengjue looked into her eyes. She had a pair of almond-shaped eyes that were clear and bright. When she was innocent, she looked like a little white rabbit, and when she was fierce, she showed her sharp edge.

Gong Chengjue was starting to become curious about her.

“Yes, I’ve thought it over. I’m not interested in Mr. Gong,” Su Ziqing said seriously. “Mr. Gong, please leave.”

"Then I can only have another chat with Elder Su, and also chat about Miss Su's skills~" Gong Chengjue said, turning to leave, but his words clearly indicated that he meant more than just a chat.

"Stop." Su Ziqing really wanted to stab him to death with a needle. How could she have gotten involved with someone like him?

"Mr. Gong..."

"Gong Chengjue," Gong Chengjue uttered his name.

"Gong Chengjue, let me be frank. Your kind of aristocratic family is a deep and murky place, and I have no interest in getting involved. I have no interest in knowing your specific purpose for coming here today, but I'm warning you, I'm not someone to be trifled with either."

“Miss Su was born with a single palmar crease, a sign that brings bad luck to husbands. Based on that alone, I doubt anyone would have the courage to marry you,” Gong Chengjue said calmly.

"That's none of your business." She never even considered getting married. What a joke! What era are we living in? Do women have to get married? Sorry, she's a staunch non-marriage advocate.
