Chapter 35 Completely Resolved

Tiger, clutching his bleeding nose, staggered to his feet, pulled out his phone, and dialed a number: "Cousin! I've been beaten up! At the 'Four Seasons Spring' restaurant... Yes, the other guy was really arrogant, he didn't even respect you!"

After hanging up the phone, Tiger's face broke into a vicious grin: "Kid, you're finished! My cousin's the head of the city's criminal investigation division! If I don't get you in jail for ten or eight years today, I'll change my surname to yours!"

Han Feng expressionlessly pulled out his phone and dialed a speed dial number. After the call connected, he said briefly, "Uncle Lin, I'm at the 'Four Seasons Spring' restaurant, I've run into some trouble."

Lin Zhengguo's voice immediately turned serious on the other end of the phone: "What's going on?"

"No." Han Feng glanced at Tiger. "The local gang was extorting protection money. I stopped them, and they called the police. It seems they're in cahoots."

Lin Zhengguo's voice suddenly turned cold: "Do you know which police station is in charge?"

"I don't know." Han Feng glanced outside the door. "But it should be soon; this is near Kyoto Institute of Technology."

"I understand." Lin Zhengguo's tone was authoritative and left no room for argument. "Stay where you are, I'll handle it immediately."

After hanging up the phone, Han Feng put it back in his pocket and looked at Tiger with a leisurely air. Su Wanwan leaned closer and whispered, "All done?"

Han Feng nodded slightly.

Seeing this, Tiger assumed Han Feng was bluffing and laughed even more arrogantly: "Now you know to call for help? Too late!" He spat out a mouthful of blood, "Once my cousin arrives, you won't even have a chance to beg for mercy on your knees!"

The shop owner walked up to Han Feng and said, "Young man, you should go through the back door! That Captain Zhang is notoriously protective of his own. Last year, a businessman from out of town got into a conflict with his cousin, and he was framed and locked up for almost half a year..."

Su Wanwan was so angry her hair almost stood on end: "Is there no law anymore! Han Feng, we..."

Han Feng raised his hand to stop her from continuing, his eyes chillingly calm: "Wait."

Less than five minutes later, the piercing sound of sirens grew louder as they approached. Three police cars sped up and screeched to a halt in front of the restaurant. Eight police officers filed in, led by a man in his forties with a menacing face; judging from his uniform rank, he was indeed a squad leader.

"Who's causing trouble here?" Captain Zhang shouted sternly as soon as he entered the room, but his gaze skipped over the thugs rolling on the ground and locked onto Han Feng.

Tiger immediately rushed forward: "Cousin! This is the kid! The boss here owes me money, and I came to collect, but he refused to pay and even had this kid beat up my brothers! Look what he did to them..."

Captain Zhang patted Tiger on the shoulder, then strode towards Han Feng, his police badge gleaming coldly on his chest: "Show me your ID."

The shop owner rushed forward: "Officer, that's not it! It's Tiger and his gang here to collect protection money..."

"Shut up!" Captain Zhang shoved the shop owner aside. "I wasn't asking you a question!"

Su Wanwan couldn't hold back any longer. She rushed forward, pointed at Captain Zhang's nose, and yelled, "Are you blind? Can't you see who the victim is? They came to collect protection money, smashed up the shop, and beat people, and they think they're in the right? Besides, they started it first; we were acting in self-defense!"

Captain Zhang's face darkened: "Young lady, watch your words! Obstructing official business is a crime punishable by detention!" He turned to Han Feng, "This is the last warning. Show me your ID and cooperate with the investigation!"

Han Feng stood motionless, hands in his pockets: "Why didn't you check the security footage first?"

There was indeed a camera installed in the corner of the restaurant, and the indicator light was still on.

Captain Zhang sneered: "That surveillance camera is broken. Now, either you obediently come back to the station with me to give a statement, or..." He patted the baton at his waist meaningfully.

Su Wanwan was trembling with anger: "You're abusing your power! I'm going to file a complaint! I'm going to expose you to the media!"

Captain Zhang remained unmoved and gave a wink to the officers behind him: "Take these two back for investigation; they are suspected of intentional assault and obstructing official duties."

Two young policemen stepped forward to handcuff Han Feng. Han Feng's eyes sharpened, and he dodged to the side, simultaneously sweeping his right leg, causing the two policemen to lose their balance and fall heavily to the ground.

"Assaulting a police officer!" Captain Zhang roared, instantly drawing his pistol and pointing it at Han Feng. "Don't move! I'll shoot if you move again!"

The restaurant was silent. The dark muzzle of a gun was less than two meters from Han Feng's forehead, and Captain Zhang's finger was already on the trigger.

Su Wanwan's face darkened, and she instinctively reached out to step forward, but Han Feng stopped her with a look. Tiger Brother smiled smugly to the side.

"Kid, you think you're so tough, huh?" Captain Zhang gritted his teeth. "Try moving again? I guarantee I'll blow your head off!"

Han Feng's gaze went past the gun barrel, directly into Captain Zhang's eyes, his voice chillingly calm: "Do you know who I just called?"

Captain Zhang was taken aback, then sneered, "I don't care who you call! In this little corner of the earth, I'm the one who calls!"

Just then, a sudden screech of brakes came from outside the restaurant, followed by the sound of orderly footsteps. A loud voice came through the loudspeaker:

"Listen up, you inside! We are the Kyoto Public Security Bureau Special Operations Team! Drop your weapons immediately! Repeat, drop your weapons immediately!"

Captain Zhang's face turned deathly pale instantly. He slowly turned his head to look at the doorway—more than a dozen fully armed special police officers had blocked all the exits. The leader was a middle-aged man with graying temples and an imposing presence. The police rank on his shoulder insignia clearly indicated that he was the top leader of the Kyoto Public Security System.

"Director Liu?" Captain Zhang's hands began to tremble, and the muzzle of his gun involuntarily dropped.

Director Liu strode into the restaurant, not even glancing at Captain Zhang, and went straight to Han Feng: "Major Han! Are you alright?"

The entire restaurant fell silent. Tiger's gold chain stopped dangling, and he froze on the spot as if frozen in place. Captain Zhang's gun clattered to the ground, his face turning from white to ashen. He turned to glare angrily at Tiger, because this fool had actually offended the director, who seemed to be a major? Captain Zhang's heart skipped a beat. A major so young?

The shop owner gaped, unable to believe what he was seeing.

Han Feng nodded slightly: "You've come at the right time, Director Liu." He pointed to the security camera in the corner, "The surveillance should have captured everything. Also..." Han Feng's gaze swept over the ashen-faced Captain Zhang and Tiger: "I suspect this branch captain has been involved in bribery with the underworld. I suggest a thorough investigation."

Director Liu immediately turned and ordered, "Take everyone back to the hall! No one should be left out! Especially these two..." He glanced at Captain Zhang and Tiger with disgust, "Put them in solitary confinement. I'll interrogate them personally!"

The SWAT officers acted swiftly, escorting Captain Zhang, Tiger, and the group of thugs into the police car. Director Liu gave Han Feng a final salute: "I've been instructed by my superiors to tell you that this matter will be dealt with seriously."

Han Feng nodded: "Thank you for your hard work."

After all the police cars had left, Su Wanwan finally breathed a sigh of relief and punched Han Feng on the shoulder: "Why did you think of calling Old Man Lin? I thought we were really going to have a fight."

Han Feng rolled his eyes at her: "Do you think I'm stupid?" At that moment, the shop owner suddenly knelt on the ground, tears streaming down his face: "My benefactor! This...this is..."

Han Feng quickly helped him up: "Boss, no one will bother you anymore." He took a wad of cash from his wallet and placed it on the table. "This is today's loss. Contact me if it's not enough."

As they walked out of the restaurant, Su Wanwan suddenly grabbed Han Feng's arm: "Wait, has your wound reopened? I smell blood."

Han Feng frowned: "It's nothing, let's go home first."
