Chapter 279 Healing Skills

"Holy crap! Senior Colonel? You're not kidding me, are you?" Wang Hao's mouth was so wide open that it could fit a whole egg.

Han Feng said without turning his head, "What's so funny about joking? Didn't you see the guards salute me?"

After passing through layers of security checks, Han Feng led a dumbfounded Wang Hao straight to the underground training ground. The moment the automatic doors opened, six sharp gazes shot towards them simultaneously.

In the center of the training room, Liu Xiaoran stood with his arms crossed, a faint chill emanating from him; Chen Feng was adjusting a bunch of complex instruments; Iron Tower and Viper were sparring, their punches whistling through the air; Night Owl and Rain Butterfly were exchanging tactics in hushed tones in a corner. Everyone stopped immediately upon seeing Han Feng and lined up in neat rows.

When Han Feng saw that Liu Xiaoran had also arrived, a faint smile appeared on his lips: "What? You've broken through?"

Liu Xiaoran showed no expression, as if the breakthrough brought him no joy: "Well, I've reached the mid-stage of the Innate Realm now. Thank you."

Han Feng patted him on the shoulder and said, "We're family, what's there to thank? Now that you've both broken through to the mid-stage of the Innate Realm, why aren't you happy?"

"It's not enough. Iron Tower and the others are already close to the late stage of the Innate Realm, while I've only just entered the mid-stage of the Innate Realm," Liu Xiaoran said.

At this point, Han Feng looked over and realized that almost all members of the Reverse Scale Squad had entered the late stage of the Innate Realm after Han Feng broke through to the Great Dao Realm. Now he understood why Liu Xiaoran wasn't as excited as he had imagined.

Liu Xiaoran continued, "I know about Ni Lin, and I want to join in too."

Seeing Liu Xiaoran's determined gaze, Han Feng nodded gently.

At this moment, Wang Hao tugged at Han Feng's sleeve from behind: "Brother Feng, who are they?"

Han Feng then remembered the purpose of his visit today, so he pulled Wang Hao in front of him. Wang Hao was caught off guard and stumbled, his large body almost falling over.

"Everyone, this is the special talent I mentioned yesterday." Han Feng patted Wang Hao's stiff shoulder. "Starting today, he'll be staying at the base for special training, and you few will be his instructors."

Wang Hao swallowed hard: "Um... hello everyone, I'm Wang Hao, I study computer science..."

"Here, you only have one identity," Chen Feng said coldly, "Rookie."

Wang Hao looked terrified and turned to Han Feng with pleading eyes.

Han Feng said with a smile, "Don't worry, they won't do anything to you." Before Wang Hao could breathe a sigh of relief, Han Feng's voice came again: "You guys, train him to death. Keep training him as long as he's not dead."

At this moment, Wang Hao's face was even uglier than if he had been crying. Then he noticed a huge figure coming in front of him. It was Iron Tower.

Iron Tower grinned, revealing his gleaming white teeth: "Don't worry, kid, we'll take good 'care' of you."

The next eight hours were the longest nightmare of Wang Hao's life.

Chen Feng's physical training made him vomit three times; Iron Tower's combat class left him with at least twenty bruises; Viper's stealth training ended with countless wrestling matches; Night Owl's gun training left his hands cracked; and Rain Butterfly's tactics class completely destroyed his understanding of "stealth" in video games.

During the lunch break, Wang Hao slumped against the wall, too weak even to pick up his water bottle. Han Feng squatted down and brought the straw to his lips.

Do you regret it?

Wang Hao swallowed hard, shaking his head: "It's just... I didn't expect it to hurt this much..."

"It hurts even more this afternoon." Han Feng wiped the blood from his forehead. "I had Liu Xiaoran teach you how to control your energy; he's better at that than the others."

He then stood up and clapped his hands, instantly drawing everyone's attention.

Han Feng said, "Next, you guys will work with Liu Xiaoran. I need Haozi to join us in two days."

Sure enough, the afternoon training made the morning's activities seem like kindergarten games. Liu Xiaoran's icy aura made Wang Hao's lips turn purple, yet he was required to maintain his "spiritual vision" state under such conditions.

"Energy flow won't wait for you to be ready!" Liu Xiaoran's voice pierced your eardrums like an icicle. "On the battlefield, the enemy won't either!"

Wang Hao's vision began to blur, but the points of light became clearer and clearer—he saw an ice-blue energy river within Liu Xiaoran's body, and energy particles of various colors floating throughout the training room.

"I...I saw it..." His teeth chattered. "Your chest...has the energy of Unity Ice..."

Liu Xiaoran's pupils contracted slightly; this was the first time Wang Hao had accurately pinpointed a cultivator's energy node. He looked at Han Feng in the observation room, who nodded slightly.

"Continue." Liu Xiaoran released another wave of chilling energy. "Tell me where the Iron Tower's energy weakness is!"

As dusk fell, when everyone thought Wang Hao had reached his limit, Han Feng finally called a halt to the training. He walked to the center of the field and helped Wang Hao, who could barely stand, to his feet.

"Last item, follow me."

Inside the special meditation room, Han Feng had Wang Hao sit cross-legged in the center of the star chart. The other team members stood in a circle around him, watching curiously.

"Close your eyes and recall the points of light you saw." Han Feng's voice became unusually gentle. "Now, try to feel the trust that each of us has in you..."

Wang Hao frowned in confusion: "Trust?"

"Just like you believe I would never abandon you, and I believe you can definitely break through your limitations and become my right-hand man," Han Feng guided, "that feeling is the nascent form of the power of faith."

The room fell silent. Wang Hao's breathing gradually became steady, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. Suddenly, a very faint golden light emanated from his body, as faint as a candle flame in the wind.

"This is..." Chen Feng looked at Wang Hao in surprise, "What happened to him?"

Just as everyone was marveling, Wang Hao suddenly bent over in pain, and the golden light transformed into countless light arrows that shot out in all directions! The nearest iron tower instinctively blocked, but the golden light pierced through its defenses and went straight into its chest.

"I'm fine!" Eiffel Tower exclaimed in surprise, moving her arms. "In fact... the pain has lessened?"

"That's healing ability!" Han Feng was overjoyed. "Haozi actually used a healing skill!"

Wang Hao collapsed forward, utterly exhausted, but Han Feng caught him. The young man's face was ashen, yet he wore a satisfied smile: "Brother Feng... I think... I understand those points of light now..."

Han Feng gently patted Wang Hao on the shoulder: "Well done, how did you do that?"

Wang Hao shook his head: "I'm not really sure either. It's just a feeling I can't quite describe. Seeing how exhausted they were from training me, I felt bad, and then my energy just exploded."
