Chapter 25 Departure to the North

Z City, temporary base of the Northern Military Region.

The military transport plane landed on the runway, the cabin door opened, and Han Feng led the Longyuan Squad down the gangway. A cold wind swirled with fine snow, and in the distance, Zhao Weiguo, the commander of the Northern Military Region, was waiting for them with several officers.

"Major Han!" Zhao Weiguo stepped forward and saluted, his gaze sweeping over the squad members behind Han Feng, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes—although this team only had six people, each of them exuded a sharp aura, especially the nearly two-meter-tall burly man "Iron Tower," whose mere presence alone was enough to create a sense of oppression.

Han Feng returned the greeting: "Commander Zhao, I have read the situation briefing. The Blood Blade Mercenary Group is expected to enter the country in two days. We need to make preparations in advance."

Zhao Weiguo nodded: "A temporary command center has been set up. Please follow me."

Han Feng followed them into the command center, where an electronic sand table displayed the real-time dynamics of the northern border.

Han Feng stood in front of the sand table, lightly pointing to several key locations: "The Blood Blade Mercenary Group will enter the country in three groups. Their goal is to assassinate me, but to avoid alerting them, we must pinpoint their location before they enter the country."

"Our people have been monitoring all suspicious locations," Zhao Weiguo added.

Han Feng shook his head: "Remove the visible sentries, only leave the covert ones. The Blood Blade men are all veterans; they'll notice something amiss."

"Is Captain Han teaching us how to do things?" A cold voice came from the doorway.

Everyone turned to look. A tall, well-built officer stood there, his shoulder insignia indicating he was a major in the special forces. He was slightly taller than Han Feng, with sharply defined features and eyes as sharp as a knife.

"Captain Liu." He nodded slightly. "Perfect timing. This is Captain Han Feng of the Longyuan Special Forces. Captain Han, this is Captain Liu Xiaoran of the Northern Military Region's 'Snow Wolf' Special Forces; he will be assisting you in your operation."

Han Feng ignored Liu Xiaoran and continued with his arrangements.

The members of the Dragon Abyss team quickly memorized their respective mission areas, and just then, Han Feng's phone vibrated—it was a call from Su Wanwan.

He walked to the side and answered the call: "Speak."

“I’ve sent the information on the eight members of Bloodblade to your terminal!” Su Wanwan’s voice was unusually tense, lacking its usual playfulness. “Their equipment is more dangerous than anticipated. The latest intelligence indicates that they may be carrying miniature Emp devices that can disable electronic devices.”

Han Feng's eyes turned slightly cold: "Understood."

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, then Su Wanwan's voice lowered, almost as a mutter: "...Be careful."

Han Feng was stunned for a moment.

This usually carefree and easygoing red-haired girl's tone now revealed a rare hint of worry.

"Hmm," he replied casually, and hung up the phone.

The system voice then came through: "Hey, host, we've detected a change in Su Wanwan's heart rate and an increase in her favorability rating. Based on my analysis, this seems to be due to her worry."

Han Feng: "...Shut up."

As the deployment meeting drew to a close, Liu Xiaoran, the captain of the Northern Military Region Special Operations Team, suddenly raised a question.

"Commander Zhao, I don't understand." Liu Xiaoran frowned, his gaze sweeping over Han Feng and his squad. "The Blood Blade Mercenary Group is an international A-level target. Do you think these few people can stop them?"

He was tall and straight, with the rank of second lieutenant on his shoulder insignia shining brightly. His features vaguely resembled Liu Mengran's, but his temperament was more cold and hard.

The members of the Dragon Abyss team instantly darkened their expressions, especially Iron Tower, whose fists were clenched so tightly they cracked.

Ding: System notification: Liu Xiaoran, 25 years old, captain of the special operations team of the Northern Military Region, and cousin of Liu Mengran.

Unexpectedly, this was Liu Mengran's cousin. How interesting! Han Feng then raised his hand to stop the impending conflict.

“Lieutenant Liu’s concerns are understandable.” He said calmly, “How about this: since the Northern Military District has doubts about our capabilities, why don’t we have a competition?”

Liu Xiaoran sneered: "Fine."

On the training ground, ten elite special forces soldiers from the Northern Military Region stood in a row, while only Iron Tower stood opposite them.

Liu Xiaoran stood to the side with his arms crossed, his tone sarcastic: "You're only sending one person? Isn't that a bit too presumptuous?"

Han Feng smiled faintly: "That's enough."

The whistle blew—in the first second, Iron Tower charged out like a bull, punching the foremost special forces soldier. The soldier didn't even have time to block before being sent flying three meters away! In the fifth second, two soldiers attacked from the left and right, but Iron Tower executed a low sweep kick, sending both soldiers crashing to the ground. He then grabbed the other soldier's wrist and slammed him into the sandpit with an over-the-shoulder throw! In the thirtieth second, the remaining seven soldiers had formed a circle around the enemy, but Iron Tower suddenly grinned, grabbed two soldiers, slammed them together, and then elbowed a third soldier to the ground! In one minute and fifty seconds, the last soldier was lifted up by Iron Tower with one hand and gently placed on the ground—a gesture of leniency.

The entire room fell silent.

Liu Xiaoran's face turned ashen, while Zhao Weiguo laughed heartily: "Good! As expected of Longyuan's elite!"

He patted Liu Xiaoran on the shoulder and whispered, "This Han Feng is 18 years old, a major, and was personally selected by Chief Lin."

Liu Xiaoran's pupils contracted, and he looked sharply at Han Feng—he had never heard of such a young major before!

Han Feng walked up to him and extended his hand: "Pleasure doing business with you?"

Liu Xiaoran remained silent for a moment before finally grasping his hand, but her eyes still held a hint of defiance: "What exactly is your Longyuan organization?"

"A mysterious organization." Han Feng looked Liu Xiaoran over with interest. "What? Are you interested?"

Although Liu Xiaoran was unconvinced, he had just witnessed the Iron Tower's strength and nodded heavily.

Han Feng revealed a playful smile: "What if I told you that the Iron Tower wouldn't last three moves against me?"

"This is impossible!" Liu Xiaoran exclaimed in shock.

"Go ask him if you don't believe me." Before the words were finished, Liu Xiaoran dashed out.

Not long after, Liu Xiaoran returned with a bitter face, looking at Han Feng with complicated eyes, wondering just how abnormal this young man was.

Just now, he found Iron Tower. After all, he had seen during the competition that Iron Tower was a carefree person who didn't take the previous underestimation of them to heart. So when Liu Xiaoran asked about Han Feng's strength, the big man in front of him actually had a look of admiration in his eyes.

"The captain's strength is unfathomable. I've never seen him use his full strength during training." Iron Tower scratched his bald head sheepishly. "The first time we met, the captain knocked me down with just one move."

"Oh, this..."

On the other side, the Bloodblade Mercenary Group's squad leader in charge of this operation took out a stack of documents, on which it was clearly written:
