Chapter 31: The Golden Rain Is for You.

Chapter 31: The Golden Rain Is for You.

An eerie silence fell over the scene. Madonna's lips twitched slightly, unable to find the right words to subtly remind her leader that the point of her previous statement was not about whether Reinhard was a man or a woman.

But their leader's thought process has always been so peculiar. Trying to argue with him about the key points of the issue is not only a waste of time, but you might also end up being violently suppressed by him in the end.

It doesn't seem like a good deal at all.

First mate Madana made a quick decision and changed the subject.

"The brothers in Shaogang have sent word that a large number of city guards have gathered outside the destroyed streets."

The Storm Leader was holding the Son of God like a baby, casually finding a place to sit down. He spread his legs and looked at the kneeling middle-aged man.

Who is he?

Celine, who was in charge of capturing him, said coldly, "He's at least one of the higher-ups. When I found him, he was being escorted by guards to the emergency exit. The emergency exit is very well hidden. I checked it; you need to know the correct way to open it beforehand."

"No, I'm just a guest who happened to be here! I, this is my first time here!" The middle-aged man struggled violently, but Celine kicked him again, and he finally knelt down obediently and stopped struggling.

Reinhardt was about to testify in court and provide some clues about the man's identity when he saw Madonna mimicking Buster's way of holding him, with one arm around Victoria's arm.

With the unconscious head hanging on her shoulder and neck, Madonna freed one hand, took a small metal bottle from her pocket, and shoved it into the man's mouth without a word.

The metal bottle hit the ground, and the man coughed violently twice.

The hot-tempered Madonna stomped her foot on his back and demanded sharply, "Are you in charge here?"

The truth serum worked very well; even if the 'sir' was unwilling to speak, he would eventually confess the truth.

"Yes..." he replied softly, his voice still somewhat reluctant, his head bowed.

Upon hearing the man's response, Erna excitedly jumped off the aircraft and shouted, "Where's my sister! My sister, the black-haired woman, her name is Alice!"

The middle-aged man had no recollection of the name. He frowned and said, "What Alice? I'll never remember the name of any product again."

“Goods…” Erna’s eyes reddened with anger upon hearing this word, and he gritted his teeth, “Where are you, where are you keeping all these people locked up!”

“Our transaction volume here is enormous. Generally, unless the customer specifies that special treatment is required, the goods will not remain in our hands for more than three days.”

Erna was struck dumb.

He had been searching for Alice for half a year since she disappeared, but the man told him that no one could stay in his hands for more than three days.

"Where did you sell her to!" Erna knelt down in front of the middle-aged man like a madwoman, grabbing his hair and roaring.

The latter, in pain, cursed "son of a bitch" and told the truth: "I don't know! All transactions here are confidential, and only cash or equivalent treasures are accepted. There are no transaction records! Even if your sister was really captured by us, once the transaction is over, we won't know who she ended up with!"

The information of guests who come here is kept confidential in order to prevent anyone from stealing customer secrets.

"Then tell me what you know."

After the Storm Leader calmed down, he was no different from an ordinary person. As if afraid of frightening the unseen son of the gods, he lowered his voice considerably.

"Uh..." The middle-aged man was about to speak when he was interrupted by the man raising his hand.

“Celine.” The Storm Leader didn’t like wasting time here, especially since they had already spent too long here, and it would be relatively difficult to escape if they dragged it out any longer.

"Yes." A beautiful woman with short silver hair stepped out from behind Madonna, her reply crisp and efficient.

"Have you found the treasure vault here?"

“Found it.” As Celine said this, the middle-aged man’s pupils suddenly contracted, and he looked up, trembling all over. Celine completely ignored his reaction and continued, “It’s basically loaded and ready to leave at any time.”

The mischievous Storm Leader's gaze swept over the middle-aged man's face. He smiled, quite pleased with Celine's efficiency. He then began issuing tasks.

He first called Madonna's name: "Take Victoria back to the dock, don't take the teleporter, let's go now."

Given this situation, the teleporters around the city would likely be restricted, and those who went there would be walking into a trap. But they possessed a state-of-the-art teleporter, personally crafted by Celine, capable of drastically reducing a journey of several weeks by carriage to just a few hours at the docks.

And the speed must be fast. Similar to teleportation, air travel will definitely be limited. For Victoria's safety, she must set off immediately.

Upon receiving the order, Madonna vanished from sight in an instant. The Storm Leader turned to Celine and continued, "Take out one-tenth of the gold coins. You take your squad and go to the next street to distract the guards. As for him..."

Buster's gaze fell on the middle-aged man. "Keep him alive, and give him a microphone so he can expose what he's done," he said.

The Storm Leader didn't know if the upper class of Valley City knew that a cannibalistic underground city was hidden in their town, but whether he knew before or not, he should know now.

After that, he was no longer the person she cared about.

"The remaining brothers will evacuate separately. See you at the dock tomorrow morning."

As soon as Buster finished speaking, Celine grabbed the middle-aged man and led her squad away quickly. The rest of the bandit gang also went about their own business, with one of the brothers grabbing Erna before leaving, intending to take him with him.

Erna struggled and said, "What do you mean? You...you're not going to help me find my sister?"

The Storm Leader had already risen from his massive stone seat. Hearing Erna's matter-of-fact demand, he stopped and sneered, "I am a bandit, not a benevolent guardian of world peace, and I am not responsible for handling the aftermath."

In truth, he didn't have that kind heart, but when he caught a glimpse of the blonde beauty in his arms frowning out of the corner of his eye, the Storm Leader choked again. Then, on the other hand...

"Since you've done your part, Mark," he called out to Mark, who was about to leave after taking out his flying vehicle, determined to give the brat some work to do. "Help him find his sister's whereabouts, and report back immediately if anything comes up."

What goes around comes around; those who sow discord on the ship will eventually have to bear the consequences. Mark sighed silently.

“There might be a lady named Retiger nearby. If possible, could you help me ensure her safety?” Reinhardt rarely spoke up. He didn’t know that Buster had been summoned by Retiger; his actions were purely out of kindness.

Under the stern gaze of the Storm Leader, Mark expressed his pleasure in serving the Son of God.

Time was running out. If they didn't leave soon, the guards of Duogu City and the nearby capitals would probably surround them like ants. That wasn't the real problem, though; the real issue was alerting the guards of the main city.

That means they're going to have a very difficult time in this battle.

Reinhardt felt a moment of weightlessness, the wind whispering in his ears, but his attention was drawn to Celine's voice, which was being broadcast through loudspeakers throughout the streets and alleys not far away.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen." Her voice was high-pitched and tinged with excitement. "I am Celine Jane of the Storm Bandit Gang. It's a pleasure to meet you all tonight!"

Buster's low laughter rang in Reinhardt's ears.

"Want to see golden rain?"

His voice overlapped with Celine's voice, and the woman on the other end was speaking with great enthusiasm: "As a sign of respect, I will present you all with a great gift."

The middle-aged man's scream followed immediately, and then Reinhardt heard a heavy, crisp metallic clang.

Buster moved his arm down a few centimeters, placing it under Reinhardt's bottom and lifting him up so that Reinhardt could sit in his lap while still having a clear view.

The world of the blind son of the gods remains a blurry black and white, but the raindrops seem to be magnified many times over, becoming clearly visible.

You can even see the shape clearly.

As Reinhardt stood there in a daze, the Storm Leader, who was holding him tightly, swung his hand and caught a 'raindrop' that drifted past them.

The sound of the gold pound was crisp and clear as Buster presented the spoils to Reinhardt.

“Golden rain,” he said. “I’m giving it to you.”
