Philby wasn't the only one who came; Zade also came.
Yun Zhe suddenly found things interesting; these two people clearly did not support Serena's marriage.
"Yun Zhe, have you heard? Another letter has been delivered to Serena." Philby got straight to the point.
Yun Zhe looked at Ellie and nodded.
“I can’t marry him. I heard that guy isn’t a good person!” Zade said bluntly.
Yun Zhe widened his eyes, feigning surprise, "How is he not a good person?"
"Hmph, you don't know yet, do you? This letter was brought back by Caroline. He told me a lot about what he saw in Bahrain. You can't imagine what a beast that kid is..."
Philby frowned. "His name is Tagini, Tagini Sald, a young man who is about to inherit the title of Earl. I think you shouldn't completely believe what Zad and Caroline say, after all, it's just hearsay."
"There's not a single good thing about this person, even from hearsay; it shows how terrible he is!"
Phil frowned even more; he didn't want to continue arguing with Zad, as such arguments would only lower his IQ.
Although he also opposed Serena's marriage, his reasons were much clearer: what would happen to them after Serena married into the family? Would he, Yun Zhe, Andrew, Sind, and all those soldiers and knights also have a good future like Serena? Therefore, he strongly opposed the marriage because it made no mention of their situation.
He had discussed this issue with Newrent, but Newrent didn't seem worried about it, which made Philby both suspicious and anxious. He was afraid that he had actually been isolated. That's why he came to ask Yun Zhe; in his view, given Serena's high regard for Yun Zhe, Yun Zhe was definitely not the one being isolated.
Yun Zhe looked at Philby, "You don't approve of Serena marrying him either?"
Philby nodded, then tentatively said, "My main concern is that once Serena marries him, we old folks will be useless." He then looked at Yun Zhe, hoping to glean something from Yun Zhe's expression.
Yun Zhe didn't answer; he looked at Zard and asked, "Caroline is back?!"
Zade nodded, about to continue speaking, when he saw Philby's unfriendly expression and angrily shut his mouth.
Yun Zhe scratched his head. "After Serena married into the family, we all became a burden. I've never heard of a woman who has to bring a whole management team with her husband after marriage. But Zade doesn't need to worry. You will definitely still be the captain of the guard."
“No, if this is the kind of captain of the guard, I’d rather not have him!” Zade suddenly stood up. “Yun Zhe, I know you always have a way. You can definitely persuade Serena to change her mind, right?”
All three people in the room looked at Yun Zhe. Ellie, recalling what Yun Zhe had just said, felt certain he would agree. Yun Zhe's analysis had already shown that, regardless, continuing to resist here was better than marrying into the other family.
"You want me to persuade Serena not to marry into that family? What will we gain if she doesn't marry into that family? If the elves attack, we won't be able to put up any resistance. So what's the point of this insistence?"
Yun Zhe's words struck them like a heavy hammer. They had considered this possibility before. In Zade's view, this was merely a fight to the death, a battle of wits and strength. The idea of Serena selling her body to save his life was unacceptable to him. However, the thought that if he didn't yield, he might lose even Serena, whom he was protecting, sent a sharp pain through his heart.
Philby was also frustrated. He had considered this possibility, but in his view, if he were abandoned, dying on the battlefield with the elves wasn't such a bad ending. He knew, after all, that given his personality, he would never win in a power struggle. That was something opportunists like Nyrent excelled at.
“I understand your thoughts, but you seem to have overlooked one issue: whether my words are truly effective in this matter?” Yun Zhe put down his water glass, spread his hands, and looked at the two of them.
Zade tried to struggle a bit more, but Philby patted Zade on the shoulder and said, "Come on, young man. Yun Zhe has already given us the answer. If we don't have a better way to solve the current problem, let's stop saying stupid things like Serena shouldn't get married."
Yun Zhe nodded, and then the group chatted for a few more minutes before Zade and Philby left Yun Zhe's room.
"Why don't you tell them all your thoughts?" Ellie asked curiously.
“Because I want to hear more different voices, and, well, different voices are coming. Ellie, go open the door, Blake is here.”
Ellie also sensed Blake's thoughts. She sighed and went out to greet Blake's arrival.
After entering the house, Blake first expressed his respect to Yun Zhe, saying that it was indeed Yun Zhe's good decision to set the fire that night that allowed them to arrive in the village safely.
Then he asked the same question as Philby.
"Yun Zhe, have you heard? A letter has been delivered to Serena. It's a letter urging us to get married, and the reply to this letter will determine our future."
Yun Zhe nodded. He didn't know if Blake would encounter Philby and the others, but it was clear that they all regarded him, an Aruru, as a force that had to be won over.
This conclusion is really uninspiring.
