Chapter 2: Waking up to find your home raided?

Yun Zhe suddenly opened his eyes and found himself surrounded by darkness. He tried to get up, and with a thud, his head hit the wood.

"What the heck is this?" Yun Zhe reached out and touched it. It was a wooden board with some patterns and letters on it.

"Am I nailed to a coffin?" Yun Zhe suddenly became nervous. "Oh no, am I going to be buried like a dead person...?"

Wait, we don't need coffins here... wouldn't it be better to just burn everything down?

Yun Zhe felt slightly relieved and continued to explore. He was certain that he was indeed trapped in a coffin, and interestingly, the coffin was comfortable and spacious, but clearly very stuffy. Fortunately, Yun Zhe found a mechanism and clicked open the coffin.

"Who would put a switch in a coffin? That's really interesting."

Yun Zhe sat up from the coffin and looked around. He found himself lying in a stone room, which was empty except for a coffin and a fireplace.

Yun Zhe climbed out of the coffin and suddenly found himself wearing a strange outfit. It was a black garment covering him from head to toe, along with black gloves; he was completely black. The outfit was long and poorly tailored, making him feel awkward and uncomfortable. Yun Zhe looked around and found only an iron door. He tried to open it and found himself in a long corridor filled with torches, some still burning, others about to go out, their dim light casting shadows throughout the corridor.

Yun Zhe was filled with questions. Where am I? Why am I wearing such strange clothes? Am I dead?

The corridor was quite long. Yun Zhe walked slowly to the end of the corridor, full of doubts. There was a staircase leading up to the end, and next to the staircase was an iron gate, the same one that Yun Zhe had come out of.

Yun Zhe ignored the door and went straight up the stairs. There were no torches on the stairs anymore. Yun Zhe stared at the gradually darkening path, stood there for a long time, then turned back to get a torch. Then he bitterly criticized his own intelligence.

Under the torchlight, the path became clear. After about a hundred steps, Yun Zhe finally reached a small platform. In front of the platform was a huge stone gate, which was half open. Then Yun Zhe heard voices.

"Barbaro, are you sure that vampire is still asleep?"

"Qiongjin, if you don't believe me, go down and see for yourself."

"Alright, you two, stop arguing. Let's hurry up and move it while that guy's still asleep. Goodness, all this gold can't shut you up?"

Then came a rustling sound, crisp and pleasant, clearly indicating that they were moving that thing called gold.

Yun Zhe subconsciously extinguished the torch.

Vampires, gold, slumber... plus his bizarre attire and emerging from a coffin.

As a college student, and a college student who frequently reads online literature, Yun Zhe immediately understood his situation: he had transmigrated.

Moreover, as soon as he woke up, he encountered a group of "tomb raiders" who came to steal from his house.

No, we need to sort this out first.

If I were a vampire… Yun Zhe thought. So, there was nothing strange in his mind, no other voice, and no strange memories. So… does that mean that I, and this vampire, are both dead? And then I took over his body.

But looking back on the journey, I feel more like an ordinary person.

What abilities do vampires have? Are they afraid of light, drink blood, and are fast?

In Yun Zhe's time, vampires were always associated with romantic love stories between humans and ghosts, so the audience for these novels was mostly young women in the throes of first love or women experiencing relationship troubles. A straight man like Yun Zhe wouldn't bother reading such things.

In other words, Yun Zhe only had a vague concept of vampires.

Yun Zhe tried to move quickly, but couldn't. Then he tried to easily break the torch, but that didn't work either.

"It's understandable that a dead vampire would be less powerful," Yun Zhe consoled himself, a bitter smile creeping onto his face.

Yun Zhe took a step back. He had already made up his mind. Since his house had been broken into right after he was "resurrected," and his abilities were no different from those of an ordinary person, why should he go out and fight? Losing a little money was nothing; at least he needed to save his life first.

With the plan settled, Yun Zhe turned to leave, forgetting that he had run out of torches. He stumbled, but luckily managed to grab the wall, or he would have tumbled down completely.

But the torch fell to the ground. The iron torch clanged and clattered almost a hundred times.

The clattering sound stopped. Yun Zhe turned around and saw bright firelight shining from the stone gate.

"Barbaro, it seems that the vampire wasn't asleep after all."

“It doesn’t matter, he just woke up and is no match for me. Besides, there’s also Jongin,” Barbaro’s voice rang out.

"Anyway, it's time for you guys to show your skills. Take care of him, and then you can divide the money in peace."

Yun Zhe was so nervous he dared not move, staring intently at the stone door. Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind:

"Once you two get past me, I'll seal the stone gate and make my escape. You two go ahead and fight, I'll take the money... Hahahahaha!"

Then another voice appeared:

"Foolish vampire, do you think I can't see through you? I'll make sure you die here too. Two vampires in one night, damn it, this is going to be a fortune!"

Yun Zhe shook his head. "Damn, is it really this exciting?"
