Chapter 204 Unifying Thoughts

Yun Zhe's appearance silenced the crowd. The Imperial cavalry were clearly curious about Yun Zhe's status, and their deference towards him far exceeded what one would expect of a mere Aruru follower. Could he truly be the rightful master of this castle?

Yun Zhe glanced at both sides, cleared his throat, and said, "These Kurman soldiers are not rebels. They have seen through Kurman's true colors and have joined our ranks under their general, Morrison, becoming part of the army resisting invasion and betrayal. So, arranging for you to rest next to them is not because we consider you rebels, but simply because..." Yun Zhe paused here.

The surrounding soldiers were all surprised. The mercenary, Aruru, felt something was amiss. "I didn't see you trying to persuade those prisoners! How did you end up on our side?" The Imperial soldiers exchanged bewildered glances. "That's not what you said when you met those Kurman soldiers. How did this 'world reconciliation' come about, and I have no idea what it means?" The Kurman soldiers, watching the drama unfold from afar, were equally confused. "How did we join your side? Did you tell me? Did you ask for my opinion?"

Meanwhile, Morrison, standing beside Yun Zhe, couldn't help but twitch his facial muscles. He glanced at his shocked and bewildered subordinates in the distance and couldn't help but wonder, "If a soldier were to shout, 'I disagree!' how would Yun Zhe handle the situation?"

Blaze was shocked after hearing Yun Zhe's words. He looked at the people around Yun Zhe. If all of this was true, then the castle would be filled with Aruru soldiers, Kurman's rebels, Imperial soldiers, and the Donic family's troops. What a chaotic situation that would be!

Blazer stepped forward. "Sir?" he asked hesitantly, looking at Yun Zhe.

“I am Yun Zhe, the lord of this fiefdom and the newly appointed baron. You can skip the hesitation and doubt in your tone. I'm here; what questions do you have?”

Blazer was speechless; the shock of those words far surpassed that of Yun Zhe's earlier remarks. He was utterly speechless and stood frozen in place.

Yun Zhe ignored Blaze and turned his gaze to the distance, staring at the Kurman soldiers. "So, I believe everyone will make a wise choice. After all, we will definitely be the ones who win in the end." Yun Zhe then turned his gaze back, sweeping it over the Imperial soldiers and Aruru mercenaries.

"My lord, we have just experienced betrayal and defeat. The main force of the empire has been routed. Even if the troops from the east and south arrive, it is difficult to guarantee that the capital will not be conquered. What chance do we have of victory?" An imperial soldier, clearly well-educated, spoke eloquently and logically.

This was not just a soldier's question; it was a question shared by everyone present.

Yun Zhe raised a finger. "First, there is the advantage in troop strength. It seems that the enemy does have a significant advantage in troop strength. That conclusion is drawn solely from comparing their troop strength with that of the capital. I think everyone knows without me saying that the main force of our country's army is not actually in the capital, is it?"

The crowd murmured amongst themselves after hearing this. In fact, everyone had heard something about it to some extent: several dukes and marquises were plotting a rebellion and were secretly stockpiling supplies and recruiting soldiers. Generally speaking, the empire actually had far fewer soldiers under its control than these dukes and marquises. If it weren't for the royal family's skillful maneuvering over the years, the empire would probably have already fallen apart.

Yun Zhe held up two more fingers. "Secondly, the enemy forces will divide their troops to guard every place they occupy. They will divide 10,000 troops today and 10,000 troops tomorrow. They will occupy the key obstacles, but they will not be able to occupy the wider areas. As long as we are good at cutting off their supply lines, they will be like scattered troops trapped in an isolated city, and they will be eliminated by us sooner or later."

Blazer frowned. The idea was good, but if the enemy started to reinforce their troops, wouldn't all these ideas become nothing but a pipe dream?

Then Blazer saw Yun Zhe staring at him, and he couldn't help but panic. Had Yun Zhe overheard his thoughts?

Yun Zhe grinned, "How many soldiers do you think Belvedere has?"

The soldiers looked at each other, unsure of the answer to this question.

Yun Zhe sighed. "Is Belvedere bigger or smaller than our country?"

As everyone knows, the continent is divided into three countries, with their land areas increasing from west to east. Belvedere is the smallest, with an area that is at most two-thirds the size of Galicia.

"Is their population larger or smaller than ours?"

Although people are not entirely sure how many people live in Belvedere, they are all aware that the Galician Empire is the most populous of the three countries.

"Then, if all of Belvalo's soldiers dare to come here, then we dare to directly invade Belvalo's territory. They can come, and we can go!" Yun Zhe raised his fist and shouted, "So, what reason do we have to win when a small country with few people invades another country, with neither strong soldiers nor strong men?!"

Yun Zhe's words were a revelation. Yes, we have more land, a larger population, and more soldiers than you. What makes you so confident that a mere 100,000 men can conquer our country? With just one traitor, Kurman? He only has 20,000 men...

Blazer was stunned by Yun Zhe's words, "They can come, and we can go too." He vaguely felt as if he had grasped something, but it vanished in an instant, leaving him feeling restless and somewhat frustrated.

"Wait a minute, he really did know what I was thinking, right?" Blazer suddenly realized, then immediately dismissed his guess. He certainly wasn't the only one with this question; this was probably all part of Yun Zhe's scheme.
