Amang was utterly terrified by the sight before him. He collapsed to the ground, watching the increasingly powerful tornado slowly move away with its ferocious force. The surrounding soldiers lay prone on the ground or clung to anything they could grab, trying to withstand the sudden onslaught of the wind. Amang resignedly closed his eyes; he was nearly tumbled over by the wind, certain that he would follow in Yun Zhe's footsteps and die in this tornado.
The winds were strong, and the tornado had grown larger, but contrary to Armand's expectations, the wind wasn't strong enough to suck outsiders into it. However, besides the wind, this tornado contained countless ice crystals and debris, as well as extremely low temperatures, and these were its more powerful components.
Residents began to flee in all directions. Lightweight pieces of wood, rubble, and tiles were all sucked up by the tornado, and small animals and livestock could not escape the disaster either.
The tornado continued to expand and move; while the wind force itself was not a threat, the extreme cold caused widespread damage. Many houses were destroyed, and those who couldn't escape in time mostly froze to death.
Amang had narrowly escaped death. He looked around absentmindedly and immediately ran towards the well. It wasn't that he really believed Yun Zhe was still alive; he just subconsciously wanted to check on him.
Amang walked to the vicinity of the wells. There were six wells in total, and the surrounding ground was frozen solid and white. The air was still bitterly cold. Amang shivered, suddenly realizing he'd been a fool to come here. Shouldn't he quickly tell Morrison or Jelock about the terrible situation?
With a loud bang, the largest well cover was smashed open from the inside out, and Yun Zhe shook off the white frost on his head and nimbly jumped out.
Amang slumped to the ground again, but this time the ground was unusually hard and cold, and he suddenly stood up.
"M...Master?" Amang wasn't sure if the person in front of him was still alive, so he asked timidly.
Yun Zhe glanced at him, then looked at the huge tornado in the distance, which was becoming slower and heavier, and collapsed like a huge building. The rapid cold wind, mixed with the biting cold air, exploded and enveloped almost the entire refugee settlement.
Yun Zhe raised his eyebrows, then looked around at the disheveled and bewildered soldiers.
"What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and go help with the disaster relief!" Yun Zhe shouted loudly when he saw everyone looking at him with doubt and disbelief.
The soldiers didn't move. "Disaster relief?" What is disaster relief?
Yun Zhe sighed, "Everyone, follow me! Help the wounded soldiers and refugees! Women and children first!!" As he spoke, Yun Zhe waved to the dazed soldiers to follow him.
Although this was the first time they had heard such an order, these soldiers, whose duty was to obey, followed Yun Zhe's command and ran towards the ruins.
In the distant dense forest, a woman in a gray robe, leaning on a mage's wand—a rare sight these days—knelt on the ground, coughing up mouthfuls of blood.
The tornado shouldn't have escaped control and traveled so far. But in the end, she still couldn't precisely control this ancient magic, causing it to spiral out of control and almost drain all of her magic power.
She raised her head, her unusually blue, triangular eyes revealing a hint of relief at surviving a close call. Had she not destroyed the formation at the last moment, she would probably be dead by now.
Wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth, she collapsed to her knees. On the ground lay the strange pattern she had drawn by summoning the tornado. Now, a corner of what was once a complete pattern had been deliberately erased. The woman gave a bitter smile. Although she had risked half her life, at least the mission was complete. She had delivered the final blow and would get the lion's share of the money.
A group of people approached from a distance, led by Omar and Emil, who had disappeared during this period.
Judging from their expressions, they weren't relaxed at all? The woman's heart pounded. She had interacted with Omar and his group before; when a mission was completed, Omar would usually laugh heartily for a while, and this somber expression usually meant the mission had failed. But at the same time, she had no reason to doubt her own magic, after all, the description of this forbidden technique stated "no one survives."
Omar approached the woman and, seeing her disheveled state, rushed over to help her up. "Lolita, can you still hold on?" he asked, helping her to sit down to the side.
Lolita was very touched. Before she could even sit down, she hurriedly asked, "Lord Omar, has something difficult happened again? I'm alright. If I rest for a day, I should be able to handle it."
Omar paused for a moment, then sighed softly, "Lolita, you should rest. The mission failed. That Yun Zhe guy isn't dead at all!"
"What? Impossible!" Lolita coughed even more violently in her anxiety, spitting out another mouthful of blood.
Omar quickly patted Lolita on the back to stop her from coughing.
“Don’t get too worked up. It’s okay to fail. It’s not like your prison hasn’t failed before.” Omar stretched and said, “Just consider it good luck.”
Lolita leaned slumped against the tree, watching Emile talking to Omar with a worried expression. Suddenly, she seemed to remember something.
"My lord, Lord Omar, I've thought of something that might be even more effective than assassination."
Omar gave a curious "oh" and looked at Lolita with anticipation.
"The woman next to Yun Zhe, Ellie, she's a vampire!" Lolita exclaimed excitedly.
Omar's eyes narrowed slightly, and he immediately fell into deep thought.
"That's great, Brother Omar! By the way, Yun Zhe was able to dodge such powerful magic, maybe he's a vampire too!" Emiler exclaimed excitedly.
Omar glanced helplessly at Emil, "Yun Zhe escaped by hiding under the well. Who would put a lid on a well? It just means he was really lucky, but it doesn't mean he's a vampire."
“Even if you hide in the well, you probably won’t be able to escape in such an extremely cold environment,” Emiler said stubbornly, then looked at Lolita, clearly hoping to get some theoretical support from her.
Lolita's face fell. This was the first time she had used this magic, and she wasn't sure if hiding in the well would save her from certain death. However, she had encountered some people who, by some twist of fate, had managed to block her extremely cold magic by using pillars or walls as cover. So, it wasn't impossible for the well cover to provide some protection.
Thinking of this, Lolita shook her head helplessly at Emiler.
Emil let out a heavy sigh, looking rather exaggerated.
Omar looked at Lolita questioningly, and after seeing her affirmative reply, he patted Emiler on the shoulder, "Don't worry, one is a vampire, that's enough."
