Strengthen vigilance, rescue the wounded, and relocate affected refugees.
Yun Zhe swiftly issued three orders, which were quickly received by over a thousand soldiers. Soon after, the wounded and homeless refugees, whose homes had been destroyed, were brought into the castle. The good news was that most of the wounded suffered from frostbite and abrasions; truly serious injuries were few. The bad news was that there were simply too many people, and the castle was soon overflowing.
Besides directing everyone to clean up the scene and the rescue personnel, Yun Zhe spent most of his time observing the situation. Yun Zhe was eager to know how this powerful tornado had collapsed so suddenly. Although he couldn't see any clues, one thing was certain: this kind of man-made structure most likely collapsed on its own after its energy was exhausted.
Based on the tornado's trajectory, it caused less damage to the ground the closer it got to the point of collapse. Therefore, Yun Zhe deduced that the other party did not actually intend to destroy the entire settlement, but rather accidentally triggered the tornado right in the center of the settlement.
Of course, this alone is not enough to justify such an optimistic assessment. If the other party truly intended to do this, it would cause him no less trouble than spreading a plague. Yun Zhe had established three settlements around his castle. There was also a large area south of the castle. Given this level of destructive power, four or five such tornadoes could wipe out his month's worth of hard work.
Yun Zhe walked on the frozen, white earth, looking at the surrounding ruins, a surge of anger welled up in his heart, he really wanted to find those masterminds behind the scenes and suck their blood dry one by one.
Then Yunzhe saw Ellie with a resentful look on her face.
"Come here, I have something to tell you," Ellie said, and then walked towards the woods in the distance.
Yun Zhe checked the scene and saw that it was basically cleared up. He also wanted to ask Ellie about the situation, so he followed along.
"Are you really not worried about our problems at all? I don't know if you're just not taking it seriously or if you're too confident in me," Ellie said, clearly harboring a lot of resentment and launching into a tirade right from the start.
"When I received the news, I had just led the team out. I genuinely thought that with you there, there wouldn't be any problems, so I planned to go back after my shift ended. But then..."
"What was the result?"
Yun Zhe shrugged. "I was assassinated twice, and then you saw it..."
Ellie only knew about the tornado; she had only just learned about the assassination attempt. Now that her anger had subsided, she began to show concern for Yun Zhe's condition.
Yun Zhe didn't care; he was just worried about whether the tornado was intentional or unintentional.
Yun Zhe shared his worries with Ellie, who pursed her lips and remained silent.
Ellie's unusual behavior surprised Yun Zhe. Usually, even if Ellie didn't have any ideas, she would still say something or two. Today, however, she was unusually silent.
"You didn't call me here just to complain, did you?" Yun Zhe asked cautiously.
Ellie's eyes suddenly reddened, and she whispered, "I've been exposed. They know I'm a vampire..."
Yun Zhe was taken aback; this was something he hadn't expected at all. "Tell me in detail."
Ellie then told Yun Zhe about what had been exposed earlier because of her self-healing ability.
Yun Zhe frowned, thought for a long time, and then whispered something in Ellie's ear.
Ellie listened, sometimes frowning, sometimes happy, and finally couldn't help but nod.
After dealing with Ellie's matter, dawn began to break. A wave of exhaustion washed over Yun Zhe, and he collapsed onto the grass, slowly closing his eyes.
Seeing Yun Zhe fall to the ground, Ellie sat down beside him. Looking at the busy crowd in the distance, she said worriedly, "We've gotten ourselves into such big trouble. Are you confident you can beat them?"
"It's alright, after all, it's just a chamber of commerce..."
“But what’s happened recently doesn’t seem to be so simple,” Ellie said with even more concern.
"Huff huff huff... huff huff huff," came Yun Zhe's even breathing in response to Ellie.
Ellie looked at Yun Zhe, who was already asleep, in surprise. How could he sleep in this situation?
