Beside the city wall of Dorin City, Yun Zhe stretched out a hand to the sunlight, revealing a silver ring inlaid with a sapphire. This time, there was no scorching heat. Yun Zhe confidently stepped out of the shade and stood in the sunlight without any discomfort.
Yunzhe tried on the last ring and finally found the Sun Ring. Ellie said her bad luck was enough to make her laugh for three days straight.
Yun Zhe didn't care about these details; he saved nearly a hundred gold coins and got two Sun Rings. It was a win no matter how you looked at it.
Yun Zhe pondered, realizing that the girl also deserved some credit for this. He turned around and met Ellie's gaze. Ellie's face flushed red, she snorted, and turned away. Yun Zhe scratched his head, thinking about what happened last night, and his face also turned a little red. He waved his hand and said, "Come on, let's go into town. I'll take you out for something delicious today."
Ellie didn't move. She looked at Yun Zhe, her eyes still holding a hint of disdain in addition to the smile from before. "Eat, eat, eat! All you know is how to eat!"
"Even a ghost needs some hobbies besides sucking blood, right?" Yun Zhe shook his head. "Don't you have any hobbies?"
Ellie chuckled softly, then glared at Yun Zhe sharply, "Mind your own business."
"Oh, by the way, with such a commotion, why haven't the hunters in Dorin City taken any action?" Seeing that Ellie didn't speak, Yun Zhe stopped asking and changed the subject.
Ellie frowned and organized the information she had heard over the past few days. "I heard they went to hunt down a vampire who crawled out of a grave. It's said to be at least two hundred years old."
"Oh, so another vampire has woken up. Did they plan this?" Yun Zhe muttered to himself, thinking that it was not good news for vampires to wake up together.
The morning sun shone brightly on the white walls of Dulin City. Yun Zhe walked into the city, where many people were already strolling along the streets. In the city center square, various vendors were setting up their stalls. Enticing aromas wafted from many houses lining the streets.
Yun Zhe could clearly feel that the city was gradually awakening.
Unlike Yun Zhe's joy, Ellie seemed much calmer. She led Yun Zhe through a maze of turns until they arrived at an alleyway that specialized in selling cars.
Yun Zhe chose a carriage commonly used by traveling merchants, slightly longer than his previous one, but with a low canopy, clearly not very suitable for passengers. Otherwise, nothing had changed. Yun Zhe and Ellie left Dorin together. Reaching a secluded spot outside the city, Yun Zhe jumped into the carriage and, after a few fiddlings, loaded all the elven items he had bought at the Jialai Night Market onto the carriage. The sheer quantity and value of the items astonished Ellie.
"These things must cost a lot of money," Ellie said, noticing a crystal bottle of medicine, an extremely precious life-saving remedy costing three to five silver coins a bottle. Yun Zhe had taken out at least twenty bottles, not to mention the bows, arrows, armor, herbs, and food.
Now Ellie was even more convinced that Yun Zhe had gone to save her that night, not for the so-called thousand silver coins.
Just as Yun Zhe and his group were leaving the city, Debini finally found his brother, or rather, he found his brother's head.
That night, the head that had been wearing a confident smile rolled under a tree, thankfully avoiding being turned to ashes by the sun. Debbie stared helplessly at his brother's head, completely losing his composure.
He looked around; there were many crossbow bolts on the trees and the ground. He picked one up and found it was one of those wooden crossbow bolts unique to hunters. A few steps further, he could see the darkened corpses of vampires, left by sunlight, some still with a few crossbow bolts stuck in their bodies. Many more were missing limbs.
Then Debini noticed the only headless corpse. He couldn't help but sigh.
Clearly, these people had been sniped by hunters. Having reached this conclusion, Debini tore off a piece of his clothing, wrapped it around his brother's head, and prepared to return to report to Hamelin.
"Dai... Daibini..." A weak voice came from the shade of a tree not far away.
As soon as he heard the sound, Debini appeared next to the person who made it.
It was a vampire, impaled by a huge tree branch, with an arrow in one leg. He hung there swaying precariously, barely supporting himself with his hands.
He was the one who suffered the most from Yun Zhe's schemes last night; the other vampires were merely knocked away, while he was pierced through the heart. But he was also the luckiest, as he managed to survive until his companions arrived.
The person Debbie recognized was named Danny, and he was a vampire who loved to hang out at the bar.
Danny gestured to the branch inside his body; it was sharp and without any extra branches, clearly having been roughly treated. Debbie leaped up and chopped the entire branch off, sending Danny crashing to the ground, still suffering considerable pain.
Danny pulled the branch out of his body, threw it aside, and rolled to the shade of a nearby tree, panting heavily.
He had many sunburns on his body, and the wound on his chest was quite large. It took him a long time to recover.
"How many hunters attacked you?" Debbini asked, seeing that Danny looked normal.
"two……"
"Two?!" Debbie looked at Danny in disbelief, wondering if he'd lost his mind.
Danny nodded. "Yes, there are two, but they are two vampire hunters."
"What?" Debbie looked at Danny in confusion, gesturing for him to rephrase his question.
“Two hunters, but these two hunters are vampires, not humans.” Danny said, then, remembering the horrific scene from last night, he grinned painfully.
“Two hunters, but both hunters are vampires…” Debbie pondered the sentence, finding it increasingly difficult to understand. After much thought, he decisively pulled out a scroll and told his mother to come and see for herself.
