Chapter Fifteen: You say it's boring? I don't believe you.

As a straight man with only unrequited love experience but no romantic experience, Yun Zhe saw that Ellie wasn't leaving and didn't know what she was thinking. But he felt that if he stood there any longer, he might lose control of himself. Thinking to himself, "If you won't leave, I will," he turned around and walked to the big tree. He saw that Alice was still unconscious, so he pointed at Alice and then ran towards the carriage.

Ellie, standing there, was lost in thought, her mind wandering. Having suffered greatly from it, she had always paid attention to information about vampire bloodline suppression. Currently, there are three generally accepted theories: First, the age difference for bloodline suppression needs to be at least fifty years to have a noticeable effect, and the greater the age difference, the more pronounced the effect. Second, bloodline suppression causes the suppressed person to develop a sense of dependence on the suppressor, making them involuntarily want to follow the suppressor, creating a hallucination of a blood connection similar to family. The greater the age difference, the longer this feeling lasts. Third, users of bloodline suppression also become addicted to this effect, similar to blood addiction. However, blood addiction does not have a backlash effect, while bloodline suppression, with excessive use, will have some backlash. The greater the age difference, the milder the backlash effect, and the shorter the recovery time. Regarding the second and third points, there is a rough calculation: roughly, for every fifty-year age difference, the dependence effect decreases by about one day. The duration of the backlash effect also shortens accordingly.

In her quest for revenge, Ellie had deduced the age of the vampire who had once suppressed her. She remembered him locking her in a dark room for about a day every three or four days. Based on the formula, his age was estimated to be between 150 and 200 years old. This coincided with the time when her sense of dependence on him disappeared.

At this moment, Ellie felt a strong sense of dependence again, and her inner desire compelled her to follow Yun Zhe closely. However, having been controlled for ten years, she still had some ways to suppress this desire.

Ellie pulled out a small wooden knife and plunged it into her thigh. Vampires are naturally afraid of wooden things entering their bodies, and this instinctive fear and stimulation brought a sliver of clarity back to Ellie's mind.

She picked up Alice and ran quickly toward the castle.

Watching Ellie's departing figure, Yun Zhe felt a bitter taste in his mouth. He had been struggling with his desires, but now he was more clear-headed and had many questions that needed answers. Seeing the answer key disappear like that, a wave of regret washed over him.

"I should have tied this girl up in the carriage."

Yun Zhe was displeased. He slowly walked back to the carriage. He wanted to continue the journey, but found that the horse had fallen asleep, and couldn't help but smile wryly. Not wanting to disturb the horse's rest, he could only jump onto the roof of the carriage again to look at the starry sky and kill time.

"If only we could move around during the day," Yun Zhe murmured to himself as he lay on the roof of the carriage.

As dawn broke, before the sun had fully risen and the sky was tinged with a rosy hue, Yun Zhe jumped off the carriage, patted the horse's back to wake it, and they set off.

Time ticked by, and before noon, the sun was already so intense that Yun Zhe had nowhere to rest. He had no choice but to find a shady spot under a tree, tie the horse to it, and retreat into the carriage. Bored, he began fiddling with his diaries.

Before he could read two pages, Yun Zhe caught a glimpse of a figure that had already arrived beside his carriage.

Yun Zhe looked up and saw that it was Ellie.

Yun Zhe's body instinctively wanted to run again, but as soon as he stood up, Yun Zhe scolded him, "Why are you running? She can't beat me." As soon as he finished scolding him, his body stopped the urge to run away and he sat back in the car.

Yun Zhe let out a long sigh, continued reading, glanced at Ellie, and asked, "What are you doing here again?"

Yun Zhe didn't look at her, so Ellie wasn't controlled. She replied softly, "I sent Alice back, and suddenly felt bored, so I took a break." Although Ellie's body instincts followed her uncontrollably, her pride and contempt for the Aluru people kept her mouth shut.

"The world is vast, there's nowhere I can't go," Yun Zhe continued reading, finding it all laughable, not grasping the key point.

“You’re an Aruru, but you’re also a vampire. I was curious, so I followed you,” Ellie said, taking a step closer.

A surge of anger rose in Yun Zhe's subconscious, but he quickly suppressed it with his conscious mind.

"Is it rare? I'm so curious." Yun Zhe closed his diary, jumped out of the car, and suddenly noticed that Ellie was standing in the sunlight, shining brightly, without any discomfort.

Yun Zhe narrowed his eyes, pondered for a moment, and then suddenly smiled.
