Eighty-one victories? Trouble?

The Lunlang family's army retreated, but the Donic family was also unable to continue the pursuit.

Night fell completely. Tiny sparks flickered atop Donic Castle. The magnificent fire that had determined the course of the war, after its brief but intense blaze, finally subsided. The Donic soldiers were left to clean up the mess, torches in hand.

But the joyous scene that should have unfolded didn't occur. Everyone's expressions were grave. It wasn't because killing an heir of the Rinro family was so important, but rather because everyone knew that this victory was extremely lucky.

The Donic family also suffered significant losses. Aside from achieving a reasonable kill-to-kill ratio at the breach in the wall, the kill-to-kill ratio elsewhere was almost 1:1. And how long could Donic's soldiers hold out?

“If they attack during the day, we won’t last until noon. This… is really lucky…” Yun Zhe leaned against the wall, looking at Andrew and Philby, who were almost exhausted, and said with a wry smile.

Andrew didn't speak; he was too weak to do anything else, only nodding. Philby opened his mouth, but no sound came out. He clutched his abdomen, where an arrow had struck him; although it had been roughly bandaged, he knew he wouldn't be able to go to war for the next few days.

Yun Zhe tossed Philby a small cloth bag. Philby opened the bag and found some emerald green powder inside the white cloth bag.

"The elf's wound-healing medicine is still very useful."

Philby was taken aback. This was a useful and rare item; in fact, it was very precious and scarce.

"You managed to get all that?" Philby asked, grinning.

"I bought them from the elves. They were for their caravans to prepare for themselves. I shamelessly spent a lot of money to get some."

Philby looked at Andrew, his eyes full of questions.

Andrew nodded. "You can use it. He got a whole cartload of stuff from the elves: elf cookies, shoes, herbs, and cloth bags. Don't worry."

"I'm not worried, I just want to say that you must have made a lot of money during this time!"

Andrew ignored him, and Yun Zhe also turned his head away, ignoring him.

At this moment, Gao and Caroline came to Yun Zhe's side, bickering noisily.

"Boss, you be the judge. I had my men kill a knight from the Lunlang family, and he got upset. He insisted that the knight was an important figure in the Lunlang family and that killing him would cause more trouble. That's fine, but the problem is that when I asked him who that important figure was, he couldn't say. He insisted that I did something wrong."

Yun Zhe looked at Caroline, then at Gao, and then at Andrew and Philby beside him.

"I didn't understand what you were saying. You killed a big shot from the Lunlang family?"

Gao glared angrily at Caroline. Caroline scratched his head and then whispered, "That knight had several soldiers fiercely protecting him and was trying to organize an attack, so I think he must be a formidable figure. Besides, his armor is very ornate. It's different from the armor of a typical centurion captain or an ordinary knight."

Yun Zhe sighed, "The body... never mind, just make sure it's well preserved." Then he turned to Andrew, "Do you know the Lunlang family?"

Andrew thought for a moment, "I know Old Lunlang, but I haven't met the rest of the Lunlang family."

Yun Zhe nodded. "No matter what, let's go down and take a look. Oh, by the way," Yun Zhe looked at Gao and Caroline, "Have you captured any prisoners?"

Caroline shook his head. "There are a few wounded, though."

Yun Zhe was overjoyed. "Then what are we waiting for? Go and bring those wounded over. We'll understand then."

The truth quickly spread throughout Donic Castle. The second son of the Lunlang family, Gosarunlun, died in the attack on Donic Castle.

Also killed were eleven knights of the Lunlang family, four captains of the Lunlang family's hundred-man squads, and three hundred and thirty soldiers of the Lunlang family.

Ars and Traga suffered fewer losses, with a total of 210 soldiers killed.

The impressive victory finally gave the soldiers a sense of joy and confidence. In particular, the death of Goza instantly boosted their morale to a whole new level.

Andrew and the others, however, were not so happy. Although the war could essentially be put to an end, the feud between the Lunlang and Donic families was now firmly established, especially between the Paz and Lunlang families.

Gao received a reward beyond his expectations; he became a nominal knight, awaiting Serena's arrival to be officially appointed. Caroline, on the other hand, received Yun Zhe's praise, which prevented her from being too discouraged.

Andrew stared blankly at Goza's body, which lay alone to one side. He thought of his eldest son, Stone; losing a son in middle age was indeed a great tragedy. Andrew thought of himself, and of old Renlang; no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't feel happy.

Yun Zhe wisely hid to the side, not wanting Andrew to see him at this moment. Although his son was ambitious and wanted to expedite his father's death and seize power, Yun Zhe had ultimately killed his son, Stone, with an arrow. And the Gosa lying before them had also died in a completely foolish siege battle. However, he was still killed by Yun Zhe's men, and Yun Zhe was still implicated. The future was uncertain, but if he couldn't withstand the wrath of the Lunlang family, Yun Zhe worried that the old man would use him as a scapegoat.

In contrast, the others had it much easier.

George and Alsace were leaning against a low wall, chatting happily, while Philby was on the other side, laughing and joking with several surviving acquaintances.

Gao became somewhat uneasy after receiving the reward. He was worried that he might have caused a big disaster, because Yun Zhe and Andrew did not seem very relaxed.

Caroline didn't try to persuade Gao. He was somewhat pleased with himself, pleased with the correctness of his judgment, and even more pleased with Yun Zhe's private praise of him.

Most ordinary soldiers, however, felt relieved to have survived and happy to have defeated so many enemies. They were much simpler in comparison.

Yun Zhe stood alone in a corner, quietly sensing the thoughts of the different people around him, feeling a mix of emotions, and also pondering what might happen next.

"Won't these guys launch another insane attack tomorrow?" Yun Zhe thought, feeling a headache coming on.

After a while, Andrew finally snapped out of his thoughts. He doubled the number of sentries and then brought in some wagons from the city to form a defensive semicircle around the collapsed city wall once again.

The captains of the various 100-man squads began to tally the numbers, and then Andrew was surprised to find that his losses were far greater than he had imagined.

He now only has a little over three hundred men left. This battle wiped out half of his forces.

Andrew glanced at Goza lying on the ground again and couldn't help but pray that the battle would end there.
