Forty-six Unfavorable Plans

"How many soldiers does Knight Luke have?" Yun Zhe tilted his head. "If you lose, all your soldiers will be under my command, how about that?"

Luke was shocked. Those hundred soldiers were his precious treasures, the starting point of his dreams, his entire life at this moment. This Aruru man actually used them as a wager; how despicable!

Luke's face darkened, and he glared fiercely at Yun Zhe. "Fine, but if you lose, then please leave here and never show your face in front of us again!"

Yun Zhe was taken aback. He never expected that simply taking away his military power would lead to such a frenzied retaliation. Ironically, he had even pulled out a gold coin and twirled it in his hand, trying to suggest that Yun Zhe gamble with some gold or silver.

“Okay,” Yun Zhe nodded. “But I have one requirement: you must do exactly as I say, otherwise, things might not go as planned.”

"Okay," Luke nodded, surprised and somewhat appreciative of Yun Zhe's quick agreement. He couldn't help but admire him, "Even knowing defeat is inevitable, he still dared to move forward, which is quite courageous." He thought to himself, glancing around at everyone's expressions. Apart from Ellie glaring at him and Arthas being indifferent, everyone seemed to agree. He knew he had done well this time and sat back down contentedly.

Serena was also pleased; this was a brilliant idea. If the Aluru lost, there would be a proper explanation. Serena looked at Andrew and nodded slightly. Andrew's lips curled up, and he nodded in return.

Yun Zhe unfolded the map and examined it again. Then he looked at Serena, whose face was beaming with joy, and Andrew, who was still able to control his facial expressions. "Well then, let's begin preparations according to my plan."

Everyone was stunned and didn't react for a moment.

"How about we open a bottle of champagne and have a send-off ceremony?" Yun Zhe put away the map and sneered.

“No need,” Serena said, sensing the sarcasm in Yun Zhe’s words. She was the first to stand up. “Everyone, go and prepare. I hope things will go as Mr. Yun Zhe expects.” With that, she left the room without looking back.

Xi Xi followed closely behind, not forgetting to glare at Yun Zhe before leaving. Arthas gave Yun Zhe a deep look, his eyes filled with disappointment and disdain. Lorraine wanted to say something but ultimately held back.

Andrew and Locke walked out talking to each other. Andrew was already thinking about how to salvage the situation if Yun Zhe's plan failed. He was inquiring about the remaining food and weapons in Locke City.

Luke, like a victorious rooster, swaggered past Yun Zhe, his eyes seemingly saying, "You're doomed, Aruru!"

Ellie was the last to leave. She leaned close to Yun Zhe and whispered, "Are you confident?"

Yun Zhe smiled and nodded. Seeing that Yun Zhe didn't seem worried at all, Ellie became even more anxious. However, this matter was beyond her control. At this moment, she could only hope that everything would go according to Yun Zhe's plan.

All the flags in the castle had been collected and piled up haphazardly in the square inside the castle. Yun Zhe looked at the colorful flags and was very happy.

Beside him stood Andrew and Locke. Locke recognized the Aruru man before him; it was him, the one who had taken a thousand silver coins from him. He'd always thought this Aruru man was unreliable, demanding exorbitant prices and then haggling. He hadn't expected him to be so unreliable. He'd even slightly improved his opinion of him when he heard he'd used a thousand silver coins to save Countess Serena, but now that Ellie had also done it, and he'd gone to Ellie for the money, only increasing his dislike. Today at the meeting, he'd dared to spout nonsense, attempting to deceive and mislead the enemy into retreating. It was utterly absurd, a pipe dream.

Yun Zhe naturally knew what Locke was thinking at that moment. He smiled slightly at Locke and said, "Uncle Locke, you've really worked hard this time."

Locke frowned slightly. He didn't want to talk to this Aruru, but since the other party was polite, he naturally couldn't be impolite either.

"It's nothing troublesome. I hope this helps you end the war soon."

Yun Zhe nodded and turned to Baron Andrew. "The plan remains unchanged. We will leave the city first thing tomorrow morning. After the troops reach Jialai City, we will split into two parts. The main force of 600 men will set up an ambush on the high ground in the valley next to Skano Village to ambush the returning troops of Ars. The other 300 men will follow me and continue to advance towards Ars City."

Andrew nodded. He was the captain in charge of the 600-man unit. He didn't think much of it, or rather, he had come to terms with it. After all, if he tried it once, he would make a huge profit if he won, and he wouldn't lose anything if he lost.

Yun Zhe, the captain in charge of the three hundred men, continued, "You can't make a scene without flags. I've calculated that it should take less than five days to get to the place I mentioned. There's plenty of time. Even if they march at full speed, they'll have at least one or two days to prepare." Yun Zhe opened a notebook and looked at the routes and numbers inside.

"We can definitely get there in five days. But if they don't withdraw their troops, how long will we have to wait?"

"Wait two days. If they don't withdraw, cut off their supply lines. The main transport route is not far away. If there are supply convoys, intercept them. If not, a direct attack can also catch them off guard, since they will assume that the main force is under the walls of Ars City and will not be defended."

Andrew stroked his beard and asked in confusion, "What is a grain route?"

Yun Zhe was stunned for a moment, "Don't you rely on logistics to transport food and fodder when you fight a war? It's about what the army eats and drinks every day..."
