Who exactly is Hamelin?

"Ah, my dear daughter, you've become more beautiful and more capable." Hamelin steadied herself, looking directly into those red eyes, hoping to seize this opportunity to turn the tide.

Akdina was clearly aware of this, and she jumped high into the air, kicking Hamelin straight with both legs.

Hamelin felt more at ease seeing Akdina launch a preemptive attack. Although Akdina's offensive was fierce, Hamelin was even more certain that his advantage still existed, and he would try to influence Akdina whenever he had the chance.

However, Hamelin miscalculated one thing: the effect had already taken hold, but Akdina, who was the one who had taken effect, was helplessly watching her own body fight with her beloved mother.

Hamelin quickly noticed something amiss; under her constant influence, the child's attacks were becoming increasingly fierce, and his moves increasingly sharp.

There's only one explanation for this: she was influenced by an older vampire, and in this entire area, there's only one vampire older than her...

"You wretched Yun Zhe, it was you all along!" Hamelin felt a surge of anger. Realizing that the child would never listen to her again, Hamelin's actions became ruthless.

Yun Zhe's soldiers had barely left when they rushed back, shouting, "Sir, something terrible has happened! The sword... the sword has returned..."

Yun Zhe frowned. Soon, another group of soldiers retrieved the two-handed sword that Yun Zhe had always used. Now Yun Zhe understood. Both swords were probably fake.

So the location of the real sword is obvious. Akdina clearly knew where the real sword was, which is why she risked going back to find it.

"What's so special about this sword that makes so many people flock to it?" Yun Zhe suppressed his curiosity and quickly gave the order, "Everyone, get ready and head to Hamelin."

"My lord?" Gao asked in confusion.

"We're going treasure hunting, and we have to get there before those people, so we'll have leverage in negotiations."

When Yun Zhe and his group arrived at Hamelin's house, Yun Zhe was the first to be affected by the strong smell of blood and stopped at the front door.

"You go in and search, I'll look around outside," Yun Zhe said, and then hurriedly ran to the backyard of the house.

The house itself was fine, but the backyard was a complete mess. Two horses lay on the ground, blood everywhere, the carriage was overturned and shattered, and the backyard was littered with rubble and dirt. The pillars and walls were also covered in scratches and holes.

Clearly, two very powerful people had a fight here.

Upon hearing Gao's description, Yun Zhe sighed, "It seems we're still too late."

“But it would be such a waste to give up now that we’ve finally found a breakthrough.” Yun Zhe scratched his head. “Gao, you guys take the men back. I’ll go check out the woods.”

"Sir, are you alone?"

"Galoc and I, you two go back. Oh, and be careful, don't be too careless."

Hamelin fled through the woods carrying the iron box. She hadn't expected that she could no longer affect Akdina, let alone that the girl was so powerful.

After deciding to attack without holding back, she received ten times the ferocity of Akdina's previous attacks. In just a few rounds, she was thrown off her feet twice by Akdina. Because the iron box was still on the carriage, Hamelin had no choice but to rush forward again to fight Akdina head-on. This time, she was thrown onto the carriage herself, but luckily, inside the wrecked carriage, Hamelin grabbed the iron box immediately. Without hesitation, she ran away.

However, Akdina's difficulty in dealing with her far exceeded her expectations.

"This girl seems determined to get her hands on the iron box. How strange, how did Yun Zhe know the real sword was still with me?"

After going around in circles, Hamelin came across a wall, a wall made of thick, gray-black fog.

Akdina stopped a short distance behind Hamelin. Akdina had never seen such a strange sight before; a dark gray wall loomed over them.

"Hamelin, why aren't you running anymore?" A man's voice rang out; it was Daniel.

Hamelin glanced at the thick fog, then at Daniel and Akdina approaching her in a pincer-like formation. Suddenly, she realized that Daniel was the one controlling Akdina, given that she had been tied up all night. With that thought, the whole thing made sense.

Facing an attack from three sides, Hamelin put down the iron box, turned his back to the gray fog, and stared intently at the two people in front of him.

Yun Zhe noticed something unusual in the woods: a black wall obscured the distant sky. Yun Zhe jumped onto a large tree and saw the strange scene unfolding in the woods.

A gray-black wall of air formed a semi-circle and surrounded an area. The wall was one or two kilometers long and completely separated a forest.

Yun Zhe's intuition told him that it was best not to go there, but it also told him that the answer might be there.

Daniel assumed that Hamelin and her daughter were in cahoots, so he was very cautious and didn't get too close. After all, Hamelin was rather cunning and treacherous, and the seemingly irreconcilable mother-daughter relationship might just be a trick to deceive him.

Akdina's idea was simple: she wanted to get the sword and kill Hamelin.

So once she was certain that Daniel and Hamelin weren't working together, she rushed forward without hesitation.

After a brief moment of surprise, Daniel couldn't help but feel like watching a show. He leisurely found a spot and watched the rare spectacle of the vampire mother and daughter fighting.

But the excitement didn't last long. Hamelin was quickly at a disadvantage. Akdina grabbed the iron box and kicked Hamelin into the gray fog.

Daniel suddenly stood up and, taking advantage of Akdina's distraction as she stared at the spot where Hamelin disappeared into the gray fog, punched her hard on the shoulder where she was holding the iron box. The blow worked, and Akdina let go in pain, and the iron box changed hands again.

Daniel's lips curled slightly, and then, using the iron box as a pivot, he spun around, seemingly about to kick Akdina into the gray mist as well. However, this stylish move was interrupted by a crossbow bolt. Yun Zhe, charging forward, loaded another bolt and aimed it directly at Daniel's forehead. Another arrow shot out. Daniel hurriedly used the iron box to block, but he hadn't expected Yun Zhe to be so close. Yun Zhe delivered a flying kick, sending Daniel flying to the side. Although he still had the iron box in his hand, the crossbow bolt was now pressed against his forehead. The bolt gleamed silver, clearly mithril.

Daniel resignedly released the iron box in his hand. Since being controlled by the master of the gray mist, he now felt a sense of relief with a crossbow bolt pointed at his head.

However, just as Yun Zhe was about to ask a question, the gray mist suddenly moved, contracted, and enveloped all three of them.

Hamelin's voice, distorted with rage, was particularly piercing through the gray fog: "Donlink, don't hold back, it doesn't matter if you kill them all!"
