Extra: Lu Yannan & Pei Mo Ning (7)

Extra: Lu Yannan & Pei Mo Ning (7)

Lu Yannan held the warm teacup, feeling the warmth of the cup wall with his fingertips, but his mood was a little confused by her abrupt words.

Is it possible what?

Is it possible...that he revealed his thoughts?

Or...something else

He picked up the teacup and drank the tea to hide his inner turmoil.

The dinner was held in this seemingly casual but actually tense atmosphere.

The two chatted about trivial topics, such as the weather in Jincheng, a new art exhibition, and some interesting anecdotes in their respective fields...

Every seemingly ordinary conversation was cleverly given a deeper, tentative meaning by the two.

Pei Mo Ning's responses were always gentle, yet clever, and full of wisdom to achieve a great result with little effort.

Lu Yannan responded calmly, and the occasional sharpness in his words was just right to be restrained under a gentle appearance.

They were like two rival chess players, going back and forth on the invisible chessboard, enjoying the secret pleasure brought by this tacit temptation and tug-of-war.

The air was filled with the faint fragrance of tea and a subtle ambiguous atmosphere.

Dinner is over.

Lu Yannan naturally waved his hand to indicate that he wanted to pay the bill.

Pei Mo Ning raised his eyebrows slightly when he saw this: "Didn't we agree that I would treat you? You're treating me and acting as my driver at the same time. It's really a loss."

Lu Yannan put the phone back in his pocket, stood up, his eyes fell on her face, and a calm arc appeared at the corner of his lips: "Businessmen don't do business at a loss."

This sentence is meaningful and seems to imply something.

The two walked out of the restaurant side by side.

Lu Yannan personally opened the passenger door with a gentlemanly gesture.

Pei Mo Ning bent down and sat in the car, his eyes habitually scanning the interior.

Her gaze paused slightly at the edge of the storage compartment in front of the passenger seat.

There, lying quietly, was a lipstick.

Lu Yannan had just sat in the driver's seat and fastened his seat belt when he followed her gaze and saw the lipstick.

He almost immediately began to explain, his voice carrying a barely perceptible rush: "It's my sister's, my biological sister."

After he finished speaking, he realized that he seemed to have explained too hastily.

Pei Mo Ning turned his head, his gaze resting calmly on his face, the corners of his lips curved into a knowing yet slightly mischievous arc: "Hmm."

She responded softly, then added: "But, Mr. Lu, I didn't ask."

Lu Yannan: “…”

He choked and felt the skin behind his ear suddenly become hot.

He cleared his throat disguisedly and started the car.

Pei Mo Ning changed the subject at the right time, his voice gentle: "Is it the girl who called me mom at dinner that day?"

When Lu Shiman was mentioned, Lu Yannan's tense nerves relaxed instantly, with a gentle smile on his face: "Yeah."

His tone was filled with doting and helplessness: "She sometimes...her mind is a little strange, don't mind it."

Pei Mo Ning thought of Lu Shiman's appearance that day and couldn't help but chuckle: "She is very cute, every move she makes is very cute."

After hearing this, Lu Yannan chuckled softly, with genuine joy: "What's so cute about it? It's just a naughty monkey."

Although it was a complaint, the love in her tone could not be hidden.

The car stopped steadily at the gate of Pei Mo Ning's community.

Pei Mo Ning unbuckled his seat belt and turned to look at Lu Yannan: "Thank you, Mr. Lu, for stopping by for the second time."

Lu Yannan met her clear eyes, his gaze seemed particularly profound in the night: "It's okay, it's just a second time."

Pei Mo Ning smiled, reached into her bag, took out a small, exquisite dark blue velvet bag, and handed it to Lu Yannan: "This is for you."

Lu Yannan was a little surprised and reached out to take it: "What is this?"

"A friend of mine made this sleeping incense," Pei Moning explained in a gentle voice. "It might be helpful for people who are stressed and have trouble falling asleep."

Lu Yannan was slightly stunned as she held the small bag that still had the warmth from her palm.

The pressure is high... How did she know that?

Was it that night on the bridge?

Or...a conversation between two people over dinner?

He then chuckled softly, with a hint of self-mockery: "It really is a Hongmen Feast. Even the pressure has been tricked out by Miss Pei."

Pei Mo Ning opened the car door and had one foot out of the car.

She turned around when she heard that, the night wind blowing her long hair, and her smile looked particularly gentle under the street light: "Tell me when you're done, and I'll send you more."

Lu Yannan pinched the small bag, his fingertips unconsciously stroking the velvet texture, and looked up at her: "Don't you think it's a loss if I ask you for it every time?"

These words were a bit tentative, but also contained a bit of expectation.

Pei Mo Ning had already gotten out of the car and was standing outside the door.

She bent down slightly, and through the car window, her eyes met Lu Yannan in the car again.

"Mr. Lu is a businessman, he won't do business at a loss..." She tilted her head, paused for a moment, her eyes bright, "As a psychologist, I don't do useless work either."

After she finished speaking, she stood up and waved to Lu Yannan: "Be careful on the road, good night."

Then he turned around swiftly, and his figure quickly blended into the warm lights of the community.

Lu Yannan sat in the car and watched her figure disappear.

After a long time, he lowered his head and opened the dark blue velvet bag.

A refreshing and soothing aroma of plants wafted out, instantly filling the small space of the carriage.

He took a deep breath, and the fragrance seemed to have magic, gently soothing the restlessness in his heart, leaving only a comfortable tranquility.

He carefully put the bag into the inner pocket of his suit, close to his heart, then started the car and slowly drove away.

In the night, the faint fragrance lingers in my heart like a silent promise.

After Pei Mo Ning returned home, he tapped the screen with his fingertips and sent the instructions for using the calming incense to Lu Yannan.

The message is sent.

The screen is silent.

Pei Mo Ning held his cell phone, leaning back on the sofa, his eyes unfocused into the void.

In my mind, Lu Yannan's well-defined face, deep eyes, and slightly pursed lips were extremely clear.

My heart felt like it was being scratched by a feather, and I felt an indescribable itch.

As if possessed by some mysterious force, her fingertips clicked on his avatar at the top of the silent chat box.

His circle of friends appeared before him.

There is not much content and the intervals are long.

At the top is a pinned photo of a brother and sister that looks a bit old.

In the photo, the young Lu Yannan has a rather serious expression, and is holding Lu Shiman with her eyes wide open and smiling like a crescent moon. Behind him are three other young men, all full of vigor and vitality.

The background seems to be a European-style garden, and the filter of time cannot block the protection of his younger brothers and sisters in his eyes.

Further down.

A forwarded post from two years ago, the link is to the news [Lu Chixu won the F2 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix championship].

Other posts included reposts of a report from Lu Qiyun's lab, a hazy photo of a New Year's family dinner overflowing with delicious food, and a video of a younger brother and sister playing around, with the caption: [Noisy.]

He is private and reserved, with his emotions hidden beneath restrained expression, which is completely different from his decisiveness in the business world.

Family is the only clear theme in all his social updates.
