Chapter 4 First Meeting with My Younger Brother

Li Jia's dry cleaning shop was about an hour away from the military hospital. After walking for less than five minutes, he noticed the Toyota following him. He wondered who the person in the car was while considering whether to shake him off.

"Is it that young policeman? It's very likely. Does he still have doubts about me?" After a few thoughts flashed through his mind, he made a decision: since he likes to follow, then he'll let him follow to his heart's content.

Li Jia slowed down immediately, moving slowly along with the traffic, heading wherever there were more cars and people, since he had plenty of time.

The cars following behind were initially very patient in the traffic, but gradually they realized that the Passat was just wandering around aimlessly, heading towards places with lots of people and cars. Wherever there was a traffic jam, there was the Passat.

"What's this kid up to? I think Xiao Jiang is right, that kid is just an ordinary person. Our Captain Zhou insisted on tracking him down. Judging from his appearance, he probably doesn't even know the way. According to the information, he only returned from the United States a month ago. Although we don't know what he did before, he definitely can't be the person in that case. Deputy Zhang, is it still necessary to follow him?" As Li Jia had expected, the people in the Toyota were police officers, but not Jiang Ling. They were from the Major Crimes Unit of the Municipal Criminal Investigation Team. It seems that the Municipal Criminal Investigation Team took that robbery case very seriously. Using a coin to deflect a bullet, if this person could be used by the country, it would be a great thing.

"Alright, we don't need to follow him anymore. Let Xiao Jiang check on him again later. He can't be that person. Go back to the hospital and see those three bastards." Zhang, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, spoke up.

"Alright, damn it, we've wasted so much time following this bastard. Let's go." Upon hearing this, driver Xiao Wang's mood immediately improved. He stepped on the gas pedal to the floor, and the Toyota swerved out of the straight lane, arrogantly cutting into the left-turn lane.

Seeing the Toyota speeding away behind her, Li Jia smiled faintly. She picked up her phone and dialed the number Xiao Yu had given her. "Sister Zhang, hello, this is Li Jia from Shujia Dry Cleaning Shop. I'm on my way now. May I ask which department you're in?" A woman's voice quickly came from the other end of the line.

"Military hospital, fourth floor, pharmacy. Okay, see you in a bit, Sister Zhang." Li Jia noted down where Sister Zhang worked, put her phone aside, and sped up her drive, looking for a shortcut.

It took another forty-five minutes for Li Jia's car to finally arrive at its destination, the entrance of the military hospital. Li Jia parked the car, took the suit, and walked into the hospital. As she walked in, Li Jia inadvertently saw the Honda parked downstairs in the inpatient building of the side building of the hospital. "As expected, it's the police. Heh."

Arriving at the dispensing room, Li Jia knocked on the door and said, "Hello, Sister Zhang, it's been a long time. These are your clothes." Without waiting for anyone to ask, Li Jia smiled and handed the clothes to Sister Zhang, and then familiarly gave a brief introduction to the dry cleaning shop's advertisement.

"Hehe, thank you so much for coming all this way. My husband urgently needs it because he's away on a business trip. But I've been working overtime these past few days, spending more than ten hours a day at the hospital, so I haven't had time to pack for him. I had no choice but to trouble you to bring the clothes here," Sister Zhang explained with a smile.

"Alright, ladies, I'll be going now. I've finished my mission and am heading home. Hehe, if you have any clothes, send them to me, and I'll give you a 20% discount." Li Jia was naturally gentle and refined, and she always had a faint smile on her face. This smile was very attractive to these middle-aged women, and they all agreed, "Definitely, definitely." Li Jia then left the dispensing room with a smile.

After leaving the hospital's main building, Li Jia glanced habitually at the black Toyota parked in the distance, then quickly walked out of the hospital gate and sat quietly in her car for a while.

Five minutes later, Li Jia turned on the music, started the car, and slowly drove away from the military hospital, quickly disappearing into the traffic. An hour and a half later, Li Jia's white Passat appeared at the gate of B City No. 9 Middle School on Xuefu Road. After parking the car and registering, Li Jia strolled around the campus, carefully observing the school's environment and facilities. Students were playing soccer on the playground during a physical education class. Li Jia sat quietly to the side watching. On the field, a boy about 1.65 meters tall, with a handsome and sunny face covered in sweat, had a pair of bright black eyes that showed confidence. Throughout the game, Li Jia noticed an interesting phenomenon: whenever that boy got the ball, he basically wouldn't pass it out again until he scored a goal or the ball was intercepted.

This little boy was Li Jia's younger brother, Li Yan, whom she had lost contact with for more than ten years. Looking at her grown-up brother, Li Jia felt somewhat guilty. After staring blankly for a while, she checked the time and got up to leave the playground.

At eight o'clock in the evening, Li Jia returned to her shop. Zhou Xiaoyu had already prepared dinner. This time, she didn't ask Li Jia where she had been. She just sat quietly at the table watching Li Jia eat the dishes she had made herself, and felt a strong sense of satisfaction.

Zhou Xiaoyu's cooking is indeed very delicious, but she only knows how to make a few dishes, and all of them involve eggs. Li Jia is not picky about food, as long as she can fill her stomach, so she didn't get tired of eating various kinds of stir-fried vegetables and eggs for half a month.

After dinner, Zhou Xiaoyu went to her room and started reading the books about dry cleaning, while Li Jia sat in front of the computer in deep thought for a long time before going into the bathroom.
