"Okay." Li Jia replied briefly, then put her arm around Hai Mingyue's waist and walked towards the open-air balcony on one side of the banquet hall.
Several chairs were placed on the balcony, where one could enjoy the night view of City B. Although it was already past the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, the red lanterns on the streets were still lit early, appearing particularly hazy under the neon lights of the night.
"Thinking about America again?" Li Jia asked softly, looking at Hai Mingyue's expression.
"Never mind, it's nothing. Have a drink with me, haha. This is the first time I've appeared in this kind of setting with you." Hai Mingyue composed herself, then smiled elegantly and raised her glass. Her slender, white fingers looked like jade beneath the glass.
"Okay, cheers!" Li Jia nodded, raised her glass and gently clinked it with Hai Mingyue's. The two of them smiled and stood side by side on the edge of the balcony, watching the neon lights flicker in the distance. For a moment, they felt extremely comfortable.
"Mr. Li, after searching for so long, I finally found you here. And who is this beautiful princess?" Just as the two were immersed in their pleasant moment, Francisco's voice came from behind. Of course, when he saw Hai Mingyue, he was momentarily captivated by her ethereal and fairy-like face, but he quickly regained his composure and politely inquired.
"Hai Mingyue, Jia's woman." Before Li Jia could introduce her, Hai Mingyue surprisingly replied, an answer that surprised Li Jia a little. "Jia's woman, hehe, I like that way of addressing you." After feeling a little satisfied, Li Jia then remembered that Francisco must have something to discuss with her, otherwise he wouldn't have wasted his time with her in this situation.
"Moon, wait for me, I'll be right back." Li Jia replied to Hai Mingyue with a sense of loyalty, using the nickname she usually only used when they were alone. Then, with Hai Mingyue nodding in satisfaction, she and Francisco left the balcony.
"What's the matter? I finally found a quiet place with my woman. If you don't give me a reason, I'll smash up your hotel." Li Jia said half-jokingly before Francisco could speak.
Francisco chuckled at Li Jia's words. "Advisor Li, you've ruined the hotel's reputation, which is the same as ruining your own. I imagine you're reluctant to do that, huh? Anyway, let's get down to business. Someone from Spain has arrived—a high-ranking executive from the company. They want to see you, their honorary advisor, after the ball. I suggest you take that beautiful princess home first before you go see her." Francisco finished speaking and left without another word. Li Jia couldn't understand the reasoning until she met the person. Only then did she realize why Francisco had asked her to take Hai Mingyue home first.
After the party, Li Jia handed the car to Hai Mingyue and asked her to wait for her downstairs before following Francisco into the office where the Spanish executives were located.
