Chapter 283 Cooperation

—The Land of Desolation—

This is an extremely desolate space, where the sky and the ground are the same color, gray and gloomy, making people feel particularly depressed. There is only a little green in a quaint little courtyard, with a withered black tree standing in the middle of the courtyard.

"Wait," Huai'an said, and then disappeared before their eyes.

The two were left sitting facing each other on the stone bench under the tree.

"Aren't you going to talk to me?" Jiu Wu broke the silence first.

"What are you talking about?" Xia Xiang asked casually.

Jiu Wu didn't speak again, but stared at Xia Xiang with a smile in his eyes, his expression somewhat eerie.

Xia Xiang avoided eye contact, looking around guiltily. Then, dissatisfied with his questioning manner, she decided to retort.

Before she could speak, Jiu Wu asked seriously, "Let's talk about us. These are my matters, and I need to know the truth."

Seeing his serious expression, Xia Xiang had no choice but to tell him everything. After she finished speaking, she advised him to think it over again, as he still had a way out.

Once he chooses the second path, it means they will face endless trials and tribulations, and there may be no peace in their lives.

Recalling her previous dreams, coupled with Huai'an's despicable behavior, she realized that the rest of her life would be filled with difficulties, with not a moment of peace.

"Are you an idiot?" Jiu Wu was furious when he heard what she said. "You've been corrupted by those old guys on Bamo Island! How old are you? You carry everything yourself. I'm not dead. You don't even give me a chance to know."

"I, I didn't..." Xia Xiang explained in a panic. She just felt that the matter was already settled, and it wouldn't help to make one more person sad.

Jiu Wu suddenly stood up, swaying slightly, and reached out to support his head as if he was about to faint.

Seeing this, Xia Xiang quickly hugged him and gently helped him sit down, but Jiu Wu's arms wrapped around her waist.

"Little fatty, you almost made me angry to death, you have to take responsibility." Jiu Wu leaned against her and said weakly.

Seeing that Xia Xiang did not push him away, he boldly made another request, "Hurry up and change back, I prefer your original appearance."

"You've made demands again?" Xia Xiang knew he was alright, so she reached out to push him, but then reverted to her original form.

The moment their skin touched, the spell lock lit up simultaneously, and Xia Xiang could only quickly push Jiu Wu away, much to Jiu Wu's frustration.

After Huai'an left, he found Xuanming.

"Xuanming, you've gone too far with your joke." Huai'an looked coldly at the nonchalant person opposite her. "She's going to die. This is her last chance."

The collision of two equally matched forces instantly unleashed devastating power.

"I'm helping her," Xuan Ming grinned, seemingly unconcerned.

"The most treacherous thing in this world is the human heart. Once people know each other's thoughts, conflicts will arise. Given her personality, this kind of affection isn't something that can be severed so easily."

“No,” Huai’an said, then channeled his energy and struck the other person with a palm strike. “If she doesn’t come back, I won’t let you off the hook.”

"What's the rush?! You're partly responsible for Ying's current state." Xuan Ming, struggling to block the blow, immediately retaliated. "But you're recovering pretty quickly, keep it up!"

"Stop talking nonsense and come with me, or I'll kill you right now!" Huai'an grabbed Xuanming by the collar and said fiercely.

"Have you ever reflected on yourself all these years?" Xuanming said indifferently. "Actually, you're simply not suited to taking care of children."

"Talkative" Huai'an grabbed Xuanming's shoulder and carried him to the Land of Annihilation.

——

"Ah Ying, long time no see, did you miss me?" Xuan Ming straightened his clothes, which had been disheveled by Huai An, and walked towards Xia Xiang and Jiu Wu with a smile in his eyes.

Xia Xiang and Jiu Wu both looked in the direction from which the sound came, their pupils shrinking in surprise.

The man who spoke looked exactly like Xia Yu. He wore a loose, simple white robe, and his long black hair was casually draped over his back. He exuded an aura that made him seem even more dangerous than Huai An.

Xia Xiang and Jiu Wu exchanged a glance, neither of them speaking.
